    I knew what they were but I'm glad I saw someone harvesting them and dehydrating them before I try them. Thanks for sharing.

    Hi! I found you googling the difference between pineapple weed and chamomile. I learned a lot. I'm excited about foraging n harvested my own nettle n feverfew last year. So exciting. Thank you for your help. I subscribed.😊

    Thank you 😊. I just discovered this pretty little plant on one of my nature walks. I can’t wait to try the tea! I have discovered that I have a whole free salad bar (chickweed, henbit, dandelion, dock, yellow sorrel) in my yard. 👍🏼

    Love this tip Cathy! I have certainly seen this growing before and thought nothing of it. Growing up we foraged for berries and mushrooms and I love the idea of using what is right in front of us! 💚

    Really nice and informative video. I found my first Pineapple Weed (in the UK) a couple of days ago and picked it yesterday and made tea with it fresh. It definitely loses a bit of it's scent and flavour late in the season, and I'll discard the stalks in future. But very nice, and definitely a soporific (I slept like a log).

    Late to the party here. I've got loads of pineapple weed growing where we have had building work done. Thought to myself I wonder if it is good for anything, so I looked it up and your channel came up. Well I didn't know it was wild chamomile, so thank you - I'll be harvesting some for sure.

      I loved it! I didn't need any honey to sweeten it, it was perfectly fine as it was. My husband not so keen - he's a Darjeeling man and not an herbal drinker. Since then Roman chamomile started growing in the same area! I'm so happy! I've been harvesting that too - and it is so much better than shop bought tea bags - even down to me snoozing after the first test! Oops too much perhaps! LOL! xx

    This is new to me. I have a large garden in Crystal, MN. Canning beans from my garden got 30 pints of regular beans and 6 pints pickled beans. I also got a large cabbages from a local farmers market, canned 6 quarts from one, wow! Busy busy. Now work nights Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun. So will sleep this next week.

    I think your method of canning tomatoes, especially the way it can be done over two days, is really something! I hope you'll start featuring it (if that's the right term) at the end of your current videos. I mentioned it the other day on Jess's video where she talked about gearing up to start canning....I think it would appeal to a lot of busy people.

  • @magpie006
    @magpie006 2 года назад +1

    Just wondering, is the flavor different if you dehydrate them vs letting them dry naturally?

    • @northstarprepsteader
      @northstarprepsteader  2 года назад

      Flavor should be the same. The drying process really depends on your climate-if you are in a humid climate, best to dehydrate because the humidity could foster mold on your plants before they're dry enough. If your area is very dry, air-drying is wonderful.

  • @naturegirlfromny

    If I just clip it and leave the base stem and root, will more grow?

    • @northstarprepsteader
      @northstarprepsteader  2 года назад +1

      Yes, if the weather cooperates you can get more growth. Otherwise, it will definitely come back up next year.

      It's like chamomile. I wouldn't burn it-just dry it for tea.

    Why not just trim the flowering heads off and use just what you need rather than uprooting the whole plant.....

    • @northstarprepsteader
      @northstarprepsteader  2 года назад +1

      Could certainly do that, but these were in my brick walkway and I really wanted the plants out of there.
