I had always considered it to be a pernicious weed in driveways & pathways, but now like a plant with a similar growing habit - plantain (a superb medicinal plant) - I have recently come to appreciate it
Thank you! No need to accommodate EVERYONE!
It always grew around the farms when I was younger, I love the smell so much I bought two packets of seeds and have started to grow it in the cracks in the garden and in pots.
I remember that crestfallen feeling when my girls either didn’t like or wouldn’t even try some of my food inventions! Great video as always 👍🏻
Get yourself a silicone spatula Marlow, you'll get the last of that cream and the finished dessert out of the pot! That looks so good, I can almost taste it!
That's a good one for me, I know where it grows and it's simple recipe that looks delicious. Thanks for sharing.
Kids know best!
New video yes!
Pineapple weed grows pretty much everywhere in my town. Even my son can point it out on the way to school now (good boy) iv never used it for anything myself but I do encourage both my kids to crush and sniff every time they come across it. I imagine mixed with a bit of herb fennel (also abundant in my town..... I love my town) it would make an interesting drink
What town are you from?
This grew all over our garden when I was wee,it smelled lovely and I would just squeeze it
Aww-haw-haw, such a sweet video in every possible way. And Pete's lovely music bed just adds to the gentle natural vibes. Thank you, I'm going to try this; there's loads of PW growing along the canal near where I live. x
The smell from these is the most beautiful tropical fruit smell. I'm making a concentrate from them and using them in a body spray. Smell so fresh. And you're right they grow everywhere. ☺️
Eaten these plenty of times. They are great. Very abundant and common too.
I'd be putting the lemon zest in there too! Posset...so underrated. Thanks Marlow. 🥰
Looks yummy. I would like to try this but with coconut cream instead. Maybe soak some digestives in a little rum for the base and add a swirl of bitter dark chocolate on top.
have you made it? tell us the progress, please.
Like a wild pina colada! How wonderful 😊
Simply brilliant 👍
Thank you, I've been wanting to learn about Pineapple Weed for a while. I'll be keeping a look out now, and happy to have found your channel 🙏
Top video m8 . Will be keeping my eyes out and having a go on that recipe looks yummy...bit of elderberry syrup.. bang on
Now i love pineapple weed but hate cream... couldnt resist trying posset and it was gorgeous.
Thank you
I didn't know about it until today when I drank a refreshing drink made with pineapple weed syrup. It's like i'm drinking cinnamon apple pie
best channel. so relaxing.
Ill try that pudding thankyou
I seem to find it growing in rocky sandy soil where even dandlions won't grow.
Hi Marlow I'm a chef if you would ever like any help with recipes or cooking for any videos I'm allways more than happy to help I've been forageing for years now also thanks for all the help
I found a load of this today near the royal crescent
legend
looks delicious! Is it safe to try this with pineapple weed thats just growing by the roadside, in London?
Why am I only finding out now that the bane of my existence tastes like the one fruit I'm allergic to and can't eat? 🤣
I guess you could swap cream with coconut milk to make this recipe vegan. I must try it, thanks!
Oat- or almond-milk!

❤️❤️❤️❤️
How do you store this and other stuff like it for use all year round?
Big question if you have a pineapple allergy will this affect you
I was once told the weed first appeared in this country when Ford cars were first imported from America
did you put the sugar in?
I have plants like that but I dont smell or taste like pineapple and they do not taste sweet or fruity. Could they be something else?
Yes
Could it be done in water to make a cold drink
Oooh, that sounds like a good idea. I've got a Sodastream. Imagine cold fizzy water with a hint of pineapple? Yum!
Nom nom nom!
Pineapple weed sounds like a strain

drawer, not "draw"
I'm pretty sure it is.
Frozen custard?
Not frozen...'set'. The pH ( acidic) of the lemon juice 'sets' the cream via causing the casein proteins in the cream to bond together. Forgive me if I have misinterpreted your comment. 💕
Why don't you make a wineapple peed sorbet
🅿🆁🅾🅼🅾🆂🅼 😀
Instead of lemon juice maybe half lemon an half pineapple juice
You need the acid pH of the lemon to set the cream. 🥰
@@moiragoldsmith7052 ok. Just thought half lemon an a little pineapple would increase the flavor. No debunking your recipe thank bro. PEACE
I just noticed that ‘’Wild food UK’’ is ‘’Ltd’’ I thought a channel with this name wouldn’t be a company/commercial? Or am I being silly?
It's an educational channel that has been going on for many years and the people behind it run foraging courses around GB throughout the year. Wild Food UK has also published their own Foraging pocket guide book. You can see the website at www.wildfooduk.com where you can find more about the foraging courses and the book, alongside an hedgerow guide, mushroom guide and a recipe section (free to consult).
Yeah no misfortune in it not being vegan. Great video, will keep an eye out!
I prefer it raw. But I am a monster 😊
It's so funny this plant is called "pineapple weed" in English! It does not smell like pineapple at all.
"Thats actually nice" .... so the food you make usually isnt? lol
Why would make it vegan? Cycle of life. Our ancestors didn't have these unnatural delusions.
What's natural about a factory farm with animals pumped full of antibiotics and stimulants which are fed on imported grain?
If you have access to local grass-fed cows sure why not. But if you don't have that luxury it's probably better to just use oat cream.
