Pineapple weed loves compacted soil, it grows where people walk and where cars are driven or parked often.
It is certainly not picky and will grow anywhere, however, it will grow much bigger and fuller when it has a richer soil. I did not know pineapple weed could get as big as it has been growing wild in my main garden bed :)
Also where the dogs go pee so make sure you wash it 1st x
It springs up all over in areas where cattle have impacted the soil.
I harvested pineapple weed last summer and made infused oil....I use it for stiff nerves in my leg and patches of psoriasis on my forehead. It is wonderful 🥰
Glad I found this! I have pineapple weed all over the place this year! We have a small "field" where we don't cut down anything until July. Besides ticks 😉, I collect a lot of "weeds" that have medicinal uses there. I love seeing all the wildflowers pop up! Blessings 🥰
Because of this video that I watched of yours, last year I found some in my gravel driveway here in Michigan....I live in northern Oakland county in Leonard.... From 1 plant that I took last year and I planted it in my raised garden bed and I planted Roma tomato s in and almost the entire surrounded soil of the tomatos is filled with pineapple weed. I love the way it smells....so now I have an abundance...thank you!
It grows all along my drive way. I pick it going to and from my mail box. I think it works as well as regular chamomile and it's free!
I’ve just never had luck growing chamomile here in Oregon but pineapple weed pops up everywhere on our property this time of year. I appreciate you mentioning that the stems and leaves of the plant can be used too as everyone else seems to advise discarding those parts :)

It is wonderful for menstral cramps. Have a cup of tea and cramps gone in 30 minutes or so. Chamomile the same way

I have had people tell me they are scared to use wild medicine because it hasn't been studied rigorously like store bought medicine and I argue that yes they have and much longer than some of the things prescribed by a doctor. Yet these same people will blindly take anything from a drug store because it supposedly has been tested and studied and found to be ok; they sometimes don't even read the paper attached to the bag they carried it home in and noticing all the warnings, in spite of being told to read the instructions and information carefully.
Right! Most people are lab rats, vaccines and pharmaceuticals do NOT have much for any real safety studies done meaning the testing is done o the people who take them.
@@RainCountryHomestead My husband told me about a story on NBC this morning and I typed 'cdc coronavirus nbc news' in the search bar to find it. At the time it was the first story, the one where Hoda and Jenna were talking to someone from the CDC and the CDC was telling us to get ready for the coronavirus to go across the US. I tried to share it twice on Facebook, because after all it was the CDC and NBC. It was taken down both times. Evidently they don't want to be accused of being a party to fear mongering. 😭😠

Pineapple weed is awesome, it's a shame all the stuff in my driveway was tainted with pesticides, had one small patch on the edge of my garden I tried, my kids loved it too and keep asking for more.
I think the flowers taste like a sugarless pineapple occasionally leaving a subtle and brief bubblegum aftertaste. The leaves are slightly bitter but still great.
God IS good all the time.
Shared this video a few times. Going to make some tea before bed with this tonight. Was going to steep the whole plant minus the roots ( I cut about 2" from the floor ). Lots just use the flower heads but I suspect they are missing a trick here
Yes, you can use the leaves AND flower and I do use both

I need to see if I can find this somewhere. I’ve not seen it. I will look the next time I take the grandoodles to the park! I did discover a huge patch of self heal growing in my yard! It was t there before but the ground got dug up when they removed some old dead bushes in early spring so I’m assuming maybe it was there and just dormant. Thought it was pretty cool.

Pineapple weed will grow just about anywhere, it grows in rich soil but also is VERY common to find growing in driveways and other depleted soils. Naturally, it will get much bigger in rich soils but is pretty much happy anywhere :)

i live in Australia and recently had serve flooding and my whole paddock is now a 10 acre field of this weed i came here to see what it was,, ive read that the world give you what you need and fun enough ive had some real bad ingestion maybe i should give this a try

They are so similar, if I couldn't use take chamomile, I would be very cautious of using the wild kind.
That name roughly translated= mothering discord ( or interrupting motherhood). Maybe referring to it's ability to help with the things interfering with motherhood.

I'd like to say how I appreciate your encouragement to do our own research. I get excited too and into the cross-referencing fun. I wish I could do it faster and more efficiently. I learn best by watching and/or listening so youtube can be a time stealer for me. I'd like to do better...be more organized about it all.
I also find too often, I get into the yard and forget what I researched. ugh, multi-tasker;0). And then the papers and journals I've dropped notes into....I end up flipping unsuccessfully to find my notes, getting back on the computer, googling an answer....which sets this Gemini sun, Virgo moon elder to resume the dance and joy of the search...gaw;0)
Have you tips on how to organize notes, or maybe you have pockets in your skirt to hold a pen and paper if a thought comes to you in the field. lol, no pun intended. I gently tried audio reminders but not successfully.

I do take notes but do not carry a note pad. My methods are always changing but I remember best when I am able to use an herb for something. I often have to go back to my notes or even my own videos and look things up again. I cannot retain even all the things I share in the videos.

I love that you warn us about the possible side effects. Although I warn everyone who comes to me to do their own research. No one has ever warned me there could be side effects to herbs. Can I ask a question though? When you're researching your herbs, do you research your oils as well? You mentioned avocado oil, and yes she is a very good oil to use. But I tend to reserve using her, because of the resources needed to grow avocado. Now that being said, I am new to the world of making medicines on my own. So I haven't even had the chance to try all the oils. But I am trying to be careful about the footprint I leave on Mother Earth. If you have knowledge of all of the carrier oils. Could you please give me a bit of an education on it? Thank you for the knowledge and wisdom you are sharing with us. I just found you for the first time as I was looking up information about Wild Chamomile/Pineapple Weed. And now you have a new subscriber LOL. Thank you again for sharing.
The reason I am big on avocado oil is that it is one that is heat tolerant and I can get a good quality avocado oil for less than I can organic grapeseed oil, which when it comes to grapeseed, I prefer only organic.
Even though I do not heat my infusing oils, I still want something I know can handle it without going rancid like olive oil can do and while it is a great oil for the skin, I have had some turn rancid on me.

What about almond oil.
Almond oil is equivalent to grapeseed with a smoke point of 420° which is decent and good enough for infusing. Avocado oil is the highest at 520°

It is related to chamomile but it is NOT chamomile. Two different plants that have some similar benefits but also benefits that vary. Chamomile does not grow well for me but pineapple weed does
