That electric bike towing your beach buggy thingy was wonderful. The ease of catching the live bait beautiful. And the catch of the trout the speckled trout. It was phenomenal. try fishing those minnows under a cheap bay slinger poping cork from Walmart, adjust your leader for the water depth to float it just a ft or 2 off the bottom. it'll increase your success rate. inshore fishing around edisto Island and charleston is my jam. you can find me on one of the local rivers every weekend

Also that trout you caught was what’s called a weak fish a cousin of the sea trout. Doesn’t has defined spots more small spots and lines and doesn’t get as big. Still good eating

Ok so you found out about a bait I have been using for 40 years up here in Massachusetts. I call them mumpers and I think the technical name is Mama chug. I trap them in buzzards Bay in the summer months, and clean up using the in my big small mouth and white perch lake Plymouth..it was awesome seeing mumpers in your trap, good for you. 👍

Hey bro. If you’ve never caught black fish (or tataug) you gotta do it! Dude they fight so hard even the small ones do. But if you get on an upper slot like 16 to 20 inches it’ll give you the fight of your life! Here in Rhode Island we fish for them, I hope you try it out.

Another great video!!! Been really cool to see how quickly you have picked up saltwater fishing. Your extensive knowledge of freshwater trout fishing and bait presentation is certainly helping with how finicky speckled trout can be when the fishing is tough. That bike is a game changer for you, being able to cut that 2 mile walk down to just a fun ride! Also loved seeing the other fishermen trying to be secretive about catching and you just come in and rope them!! Take care Bro!!

hot dogs or dog food are good if your trap is going to soak overnight or for a couple days. I prefer using a can of wet cat food with holes poked in it. it dispurses scent quickly for if you're only leaving the trap for a couple hours.

I am loving your videos. To help your fish ID: the first one was a "summer trout", called a weakfish, not that good, mushy texture. The winter trout, with the bright specks, are winter trout. Excellent table fare. If you come down to Murrells Inlet way, I've got the 17 foot side sonsole. and would love to have you as a guest.

You’re good at catching sea trout… your brother is good at catching freshwater trout (not to say you guys couldn’t reverse roles and both do well) but I’d love to see a freshwater vs saltwater trout comparison video. That would be sick

I bought the same trap for craw dad's, but only caught baby blue gill. Now that I'm in Florida I will be catching the mud minnows in it as well. I've been using gold fish and water bottles.

That's the clay that you need to save when you go shrimping get you about a 5 gallon bucket full of it and put a lid on it and save it for shipping the season and make sure shrimp Mill with it and culture salt

Nice video, I’m sure you know by now but that first fish was a weakfish not sea trout so they have different size and limit restrictions. They look basically the same with different patterns on the scales
I’ve caught more fish on hotdogs than on live bait. Especially catfish, they love hotdogs.

I use dog food in my minnow trap with a small wire box with weights if the bait floats to the top they dont go in the trap that's y I use bait box gravy train ya get a big bag and it lasts you all year I froze bags of dozens for winter fishing

Funny you said the minnows have tiger stripes. Those specific ones are called tiger minnows. Mud minnow is a generalization. Its the best bait you can use in salt water(better than mullet). 27:45

Nice catches! Just an FYI for you. The very first one caught on the beach was not a speckled trout. That was a Weakfish.
