2 tbsp of syrup
Mix
Add in food coloring (few drops)
Mix
Add blue food coloring (dark effect)
1/2 tsp of corn flour

Food dye /coloring can stain clothing and fabrics, so if using it as part of a costume, be aware the "blood" may not come out. The "blood" can be removed from skin with warm soapy water and a bit of scrubbing ;)
