- I broke my dropper post cable. Not sure when, or how. One day it was working fine, the next day it was broke! I hadn't replaced one of these on this bike yet, so I thought I'd share.
It's February 2024.. 3yrs after you made this video and I GREATLY appreciate it 😎👍🏼👍🏼 replacing my cable this upcoming weekend. (Giant Trance 29)
Thank you for this video. Fairly new to maintenance on my own bike but trying desperately to be more self sufficient. Snapped my dropper lever the other day, and replaced it with a much better lever but wanted to replace the cable at the same time, with the internal routing I wasn't sure how to go about doing it. This video was a huge help! Cheers mate!
Thanks for the video! Was tackling changing my snapped dropper cable for the first time so was looking for a quick example like this. Made the swap a breeze!
Hi, wondering what torque wrench you have!?
Great video, awesome bike by the way. I just got my Canyon Spectra CF yesterday and totally messed up the cable end while trying to put on the dropper, thanks for showing me how to fix it
Thanks. This was exactly what I needed!
Good vid, helped me with my dropper post. Nice jeep too, had one just like it, wish i never sold. Fyi Krylon fusion for plastic black spraypaint will bring those jeep bumpers back to their original black and its very durable from rock chips and uv light.
Exactly the info i was looking for. Thx.
Exactly what I have to do. Perfect sir. Thanks!
Great vid. Helpful.
Thanks buddy ....great tutorial.....
This video was so useful
Thanks for the video man! Have the exact same strive model and love it. One thing I noticed though is my dropper lever is a bit stiff. It'll activate, but compared to other bikes, takes a little more umph. Do you feel the same about yours?
Great video, thank you!
This kind of resolved my issue, my question is if have to change the lever since when I was assembling the bike it broke part of the cable (not by me sadly) and bought a new cable but that little thing cap it's already on the cable and my lever is a go thru a hole instead, so don't know what to do next :/
Tanks for the vidéo
It is better to put the carbon fiber paste on the insertion tube instead of the dropper. That way it stays in the tube instead of being wiped off.
are you sure the screw is a 1.5mm hex? seems like is just 1mm in my bike
Hi, any ideas how to retrieve the outer casing cable that is about 20cm down the tube and won't push through from the lever end for some reason?
We're you able to replace the outer casing. My casing is gone and I have to run a new cable unfortunately the new one gets stuck inside the bike frame
@@sergiofuentes9804 No, I took it to a bike shop and they had to get to it from underneath, removing the bottom bracket I think. It had kinked so wouldn't push through.
Lube the wire casing before u thread the wire in. It will help in the long run.
How? With what?
Fell asleep while bike being wash
😆
