The level backgrounds in general are really dynamic compared to past 2D Mario games and they always seem to correspond with your location on the world map. For example, "Muncher Fields" is the level right next to Castle Bowser on the Petal Isles map so he lingers idly and takes up almost the entire background for that whole level.
I honestly love and appreciate the flower additons, especially when they gave you a hint that you missed something! Them saying, "Feel like you're missing something?" was a great indicator to explore the level or that I was missing the Wonder Seed!
@@lasercraft32 in the first game, maybe, but by new super mario bros, if people haven't noticed then thats pretty ridiculous, why else would mario be punching upward in every rendering? i mean the new punching animation IS subtle in change sure, but i ment the whole animation
Furthermore, for the sliding animation, if you have the floating high jump badge equipped your character will have a unique animation of them kicking their arms and feet while leaning backwards to maintain the slide.
Important note: Characters will only have their hands open while running (SMB3/SMW style) while using the fast dash badge, normally they clench fists while running (New Soup style).
This whole game was just put together with so much enthusiasm this is what happens when nintendo takes time to put together a game and it's a power we haven't seen in years

I wonder if the HD rumble music from the note blocks was inspired by Kirby Star Allies. In the final area of the final level for that game the HD rumble plays the Green Greens theme (but only in docked mode).

Or even in the first level: if you grab the Wonder Flower not only do the Pipes in the background move, but the Pipe-Rock mountains get eyes too!

I don't think the characters lift their feet to avoid enemies underwater, they are probably prepping to stomp them since you can do that in this game.
Nintendo was thinking big when making this game, they filled in all the holes for this one
On PC this would be amazing to loop since shorts reload instantly on PC
