man waldo was nuts. carl and steve got shrunk, waldo came in the kitchen and scream ahhhh i'm 10 feet tall, and ran up out of there. glad they gave him a career and a beautiful girlfriend
You forgot to mention Jaleel White's other character. Steve's southern cousin Myrtle Urkel. I remember that Myrtle made her debut in a Season 2 episode. Then for some reason she didn't return until a few seasons later. I think it was because that Jaleel was uncomfortable wearing drag.
He cried over that character and his dad told them that he would never play that character again. White was afraid of the other kids making fun of him in school but it was the complete opposite. Then, out of the blue, he went in and told the producers that if they wanted Myrtle to return, he'd be fine with it
Steve did come back from space. Laura says don't ever go to space again and Steve says only when I'm with you Laura Lee. Only when I'm with you. And they get married
This. And when it came to him being in space, wasn't it because NASA actually hired him to make a specific part? It wasn't because he tela-padded up there for the heck of it 😂

I cant, just like i couldnt imagine Jaleel on Family Matters. I watched this show everyday after school. This was my childhood.
I remember this differently. Towards the last season wasn't mentioned Abc dropped Family Matters & went to CBS along with another show "Step By Step" I also recall Steve Urkel proposing marriage to Laura. Prior no mention of the other characters Weasel & of course Waldo. Waldo was just as hilarious as Steve Urkel. Who could not notice Rachel She was just as part of the show I don't know what they were thinking about including the fade out of Judy Believe me i noticed the change immediately of recasting Harriet. This sudden fade out of family happened on Happy Days Richie Cunningham had an older Brother he's written off no explanation. Now only Richie being the older brother to Joanie. All the cast on Family Matters were all great no complaints at all such a shame that some of the cast didn't succeed as fine actors they sure are.
Yes, that started off from Maude which was a spin off of All In The Family. Maude was Edith's cousin. They shifted from New York to Chicago, Mike Evans who played the original and then back again Lionel Jefferson on the Jefferson's also a spin off of All In The Family had ALOT to do with Good Times.
This was one of my favorite shows growing up.. I never noticed that they even recast Harriet I thought she just left or something. This show taught me alot
I believe if Jo Marie hadn't left the show, the show wouldn't have gotten canceled. I also believe if Rachel returned, Judy got written back into the series, and Steve stepped into the background for a min and let the others shine in the spotlight, especially Judy, it would have helped the show to stay on air. While the 9 season was airing, my sister read somewhere that Jo Marie was complaining about Jaleel's characters and wanted the show to be more focused on the family. Then Jo Marie gave them an automaton of outer she goes, or Jaleel goes. Jo Marie and Jaleel had a falling-out behind cameras over the issue, and it almost turned physical. And remember when Rachel reappeared on the show in season 6 making a few guest appearances before disappearing again, which makes Rachel's absence more understandable.
Just like the last season of All in the Family when Jean Stapleton was getting emotional on her Edith character and then the first few seasons of Archie Bunkers place when she was really killed off the series. All in the Family did ran for 9 seasons as well!
I liked the show, especially Telma Hopkins.. remember she was 1/3 of Tony Orlando and Dawn, and was Nell's best friend Addie Wilson on Gimmie A Break. But I hated Urkel.
I used to love watching this show it's funny because Steve urkel was only supposed to be a one-time thing on the show the fans loved me so much he ended up being the main take the shows to new heights he was on every hell he get started on every TV show you can think of he even made an appearance on full House that's how big he was crazy😊
@melissacooper8724 he also said that nobody really noticed the new Harriet...if people watched the show weekly like I did back then they definitely noticed! Lol
@GregoryW_NC71 I did notice the new Harriette when I saw the episode where Carl was training Eddie on using a gun. As for Judy's disappearance, I didn't notice until the episode, "Father Time," where Carl and Steve are in an alternate timeline where Carl is a billionaire. When Carl asked Harriette about Eddie and Laura, I then wondered, "What about Judy?" I didn't watch the show religiously.
We all love the show of Family Matters, but honestly we all know without Steve Urkel it probably would have been cancelled after the first season. The character of Judy Winslow was written out the show because the powers that be had no idea how to use her anymore. Type casting usually happens to most popular actors on TV shows. Example: Henry Winkler a.k.a. The Fonz on Happy Days.
They should had written Judy back into the series. Imagine episodes revolving Judy based on what's going on in reality to send out the message; like teen sex, early pregnancy (one of Judy's friends is sexually active) sexuality (one of Laura's male friend is gay struggling with his sexuality, and Judy became concern due to the fact that she grew close to him), pare-pressure, out-of-hand bullying, suicide; imagine an episode that one of Judy's friends wanted to commit suicide, then Carl and Steve got together to talked them out of it. Just like an episode revolving Laura about gun violence.
@lilsept77 Judy’s acting and her mother are why she was fired from the show. They couldn’t rewrite her in when they were claiming they had two kids after that.
I have to agree since I have many friends and family whom smoking Weed for years. It does tend lead you into more dangerous habit forming drugs. And many fall back up on it when can't get drug og choice

steve came back from space safe and sound and reunited with laura and her family but yes we did not see them get married and that sucks and i wish there was a 10th and final season
Steve went into space with an artificial gravity device for space shuttles. He had to go out into space to fix something so they could return. He DID get home and promised Laura he wouldn't go into space again...save for when they kiss. THAT is where it ended. It ended with him kissing Laura just a short time before their wedding
I need to address the falsity of the final episode described here. The Lost in Space episode was in 2 parts. This narrator only described the first part and disregarded the second part completely. Spoiler: Steve makes it back home and in the final scene, Carl calls Steve "son" and Steve calls Carl "Dad". That's all Steve has ever wanted: to be a part of a family and not in a passive way, but meaningful. If you recall, Steve's parents never really liked him let alone showed him any kind of love. That's why he craved it so much from the Winslow family. End of show: pining wish and desperate yearning to be accepted by family accomplished. Good ending.
I gave CBS version of family matters a shot but then all of a sudden they tried to do a fresh prince and change Harriet..😂😂 i was like hell nah im done with this show😂

@tamara_diamonds422 What show were you watching? Judy never came back after season 4. Her last episode is Mother Winslow’s.
And by the way I blame them when they cut her for why she went into the adult film world!😢
Narrator obviously didn't watch the end of the finale after the credits. Hope they never post anything from Marvel.
