The Honda dealer in Simi Valley CA wouldn't sell me a Ridgeline black due to the stop sale. I'm older and the Ridgeline is perfect for me and I owned one before. Today i called the Honda dealer in Valencia CA and they said the Ridgeline blacks were not included in the recall. I have the sonic grey ridgeline black in my driveway tonight and am so happy. I have a new blue F250 diesel 4x4 that will go up for sale shortly. It's way too much truck for me to drive around town and commute to work. It does look awesome and get a lot of comments. Good luck to you all. It looks like there are both ridgeline haters and lovers.

This recall only effects the Ridgelines that were already on dealer lots when the recall was announced. I just bought a new Ridgeline right off the truck last week that already had the recall taken care of at the factory. There were 6 new models however on the lot with stop sales on them. I watched two other customers also purchase Ridgelines while I was making the deal on mine, so they are still selling at least here in central PA. Sticker on my Trailsport was $46k and some change got it for $2500 under MSRP and with Honda finance 1.9% 36mo deal. I'm pleased in today's market with that deal. Oh yeah, the dealer did try to add a $995 wax job and $250 splash guards which were easily removed during negotiations.

I don't agree with the stop sale because the wiring harness doesn't wear out right away, it requires some years of salt corrosion and other environmental factors to fail. I have a 2023 waiting on a wiring harness and would just like to get it done, but there is no urgency other than to clear my HondaLink app of a recall warning. Plus, with Toyota Tacomas having massive transmission and differential problems out of the gate, it would be nice if buyers could opt for a Ridgeline if they don't need the off-road capabilities of Toyotas.

Just a guess but the backup camera being made mandatory was most likely from thousands of children being run over. Besides many people have issues or problems backing up. Almost like a phobia not sure but as i got older i have heard of a few that wouldn't even attempt to backup and park in areas they could go forward. Even at the cost of walking across the parking lot.
If Honda dealerships are similar to most dealerships, once it hits the lot its sold the dealership owns it. I'm grateful to see recalls. The manufacturer are attempting to fix a defect more importantly they are admitting instead of sweeping it under the rug. Seeing this is a safery issue most likely was instituted by the federal government.
Like i posted I'm glad to see recalls because no one is perfect, so how can a mass produced car be? Just fix them. Hopefully a fix will be quickly available and this will be a non or forgotten issue.

@aclock, it isn't a truck, it is a mid-sized pickup made in the USA, more, probably much more than what you drive. Most likely can haul as much or more than what you drive/own. It will out most everything on the road in adverse weather; Rain, slush, snow, hail, mud. Has a roomy, spacious cab/interior, a comfortable ride, will pull a family sized boat, a two horse trailer/with horses, a camper. Rarely breaks down, 22 mpg City, 26 Highway, has outstanding resale/trade-in value, nothing like it. 5 of them in my family, driving with a big grin on their faces. btw; we have all owned/driven large pickups “TRUCKS” in the past as well as other mid sized pickups “TRUCKS..”

@@ChesterSm-ge1hb Well said! Must be still driving his dad's 83 rusted out pickup truck. It most certainly is a TRUCK. A TRUCK THAT HAS A SPECIFIC PURPOSE! Time to come into the 21st century aclock, even if you can't afford a new TRUCK!!

I consider it a truck. A few things I’d like to see improved are more ground clearance, better audio, best seats on sport model, deeper bed, hybrid power train option that got 30+mpg.
