Thumbtack is probably the worst app to get on..I’ve been on it for a year ..the amount they charge for leads are ridiculous..also it’s only a LEAD..so no guarantee to get the job ..I paid $50 for a lead and the person didn’t respond ..this went on with the last 4 leads I’ve had..I had one job for $300 before the missed leads and basically i didn’t make anything cuz the leads that came afterwards were a miss smh ..don’t use thumbtack
@@Chris11114 they charge for leads, meaning “people” looking for handymen or contractors. The problem is, they don’t disclose how they get the leads and often people are just trying to see how much it would cost but aren’t exactly ready to hire anyone. They could also have not even requested to be on the site but somehow their info was added without their consent. This results in a lot of wasted less money because there is no promise work but your giving them money to send you BS leads.
They should charge the customers a little to make sure there are serious. But then again no one would use it. I wasted a brunch of money on this stupid app.
The leads charge is bs. I was charged 170 for only 1 lead and wasn't even hired. They make it seems like you gets tons of leads for that price. That is more than I would have charged that 1 client.
I do hardwood and have the top pro badge. Last year I gave them between $1-2k a month which was 100% worth it for me because I got about $20-25k worth of work. Now that they surged up the prices I would need to pay around $4-5k a month to generate $20-25k worth of work. It’s not worth it anymore so I stopped using iy
i used thwm back in 2021 Nd made great money for my cleaning business . fast forward i went back to business but thumbtack is not the same . and they charge all pros that are contacted the lead price . they are making bank from us !! they keep all lead prices

Thumbtack is now overcharging for its leads they are charging up to 20% for the price of hanging a ceiling fan up to 20% on the price of installing a light their leads have gotten way out of control on their pricing
I left them last year. They don’t consider installer overhead cost / gas mileage, etc. leads are too high (even if we set our prices, you know most folks.. want it cheap)
