The sound effect of the foot falls in the movie came from turning the switches on and off on our big ovens where we baked the latex foam appliances.

That's awesome! How about the other mechanical sounds? I heard somewhere they might have come from VHS servos or something, not sure though.

I walk to the pace of the sounds too. I had so many people tell me to set up a foot sensor system too. Which is silly when my current system works so well.
They have no idea on the sound latency you'd have with that kind of set up. I trigger each sound with magnetic reed switches instead of a push button. You can do multiple functions with those kinds of switches on the fingers and have the magnet to activate them on the thumb. I use the same sound board as you. It works great.

That's awesome! Great minds think alike. I need to look into those reed switches. The adafruit boards are amazing! Makes doing sounds super easy.

You should build a ED-309 but as like hollow truck/ cart that you can keep the suit in. Also other things when your wearing the suit. you could change at comic conventions. It would also add to the photo opportunities. It would just be really cool.

That's not a bad idea at all! Maybe one day. Thanks for your comment.

Love stuff from Adafruit! I tried building something from them once.
I failed so miserably a Hazmat team had to show up and the jaws of life were used.
    It was quite embarrassing....

Yes, but u have a desync between the walking sound and movement. Perhaps in the future you will create an MK2 suit ^__^.
