    I am overwhelmed at your dedication and attention to detail in crafting this amazing tribute. You and your beautiful wife are beyond impressive. I had the pleasure of actually being on set for the filming of Robocop all those many years ago as I was the security manager at Plaza of the Americas in Dallas where a number of the sequences were filmed, and it continues to be one of my favorite films to this day. I wonder if you are able to actually sit in a car with the costume on, as Peter Weller was not able to, and his car sequences were filmed with him only wearing the upper portion of the suit. He also lost about 5-10 pounds a day through sweat/water loss, so I expect wearing your suit is no picnic, especially in Texas heat. Again, well done!

    It's actually a rather ingenious design for the legs. I mean, there's only so much authenticity you need, versus functionality and prep and having an entire prop and makeup team helping you into and out of a giant wearable cage. It looks awesome, it SOUNDS awesome (from the other video), and this process video is amazing to watch and see all the hidden stuff that makes the suit work for extended wear time.

    Fantastic job, but I'm wondering: are there any aspects of the suit that you plan on improving even more? Also, how much does everything weigh?

    • @ChrisBoshProps
      @ChrisBoshProps  2 года назад +3

      The whole suit weighs about 45 lbs if I had to guess. Yeah I want to improve the mobility slightly, want to try a different paint, the fitment of the upper arms and a few other odds and ends. Thanks for the comment!

    Man, that is SO KOOL. I've been a fan of Robocop, since it first came out, way back when. I remember my mom bought me the robocop action figure, and I had the ED 209 too. I could imagine the time/money/sweat, that went into making it, it's awesome.

    this is the most amazing robocop suit I have seen outside of the movies.
    any thoughts on any future iterations (or replacement parts bc your suit is completely perfect as it is now!) making the gun holster in the leg at all, or would that be way too complicated to accomplish?

      I'm building a second suit at the moment. I have a file with retractable leg holster I want to print and get working as well with servos. Thanks for the comment!

    Cool stuff man! I appreciate you going through it piece by piece! Kind of a shame we probably won't see this suit type in a new film on the big screen. Time will tell though! Soon enough, the real world is gonna be like RoboCop anyways lol!

    The best Robocop costume I have ever seen

    tbh that's one of the best fan made robo suits out there, nice job sir.. but the only thing that makes ROBOCOP look really good is that when peter Weller played this character he was really really skinny, anything bigger than peters weight tends to make robo look chubby or over weighted as i seen some others in their own versions of the robo suit but your is deff pretty close. Again great job.

      Hey Kevin that's amazing. I really appreciate you watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it! It's never too late and 3D printers are very affordable these days. You can learn how to 3D print and build your own helmet, suit and gun. Tons of resources here on RUclips to help you make your dreams come true.
