    Brilliant video Darrell. Love the idea of the dummy lenses to get the birds used to the idea of the camera. Cheers Keith

    Thanks. I have a backyard shed and I have been thinking about doing the same thing. I appreciate the simplicity of your setup.

    This has been really useful. I’ve been considering something similar and still looking at options. Love the idea of using those mugs. Genius. Look forward to your next videos.

    Really interesting. The hide looks great, and the images you put up on screen were super. I like the whiteboard idea too.

      Thanks Paul. Glad you enjoy the videos. I am in Italy at the moment on holiday, but I have filmed two videos so far and a third planned for tomorrow morning. Will do a photo share on a live stream too.

      You've gone way back for this one. When I look back on those early videos I do find them a bit embarrassing. Still glad you enjoyed it.

    Great video, I would love a permanent hide like this with a decent area to photograph wildlife. Looking forward to more videos

    Awesome video 😌, I’m about to put a hinged opening on my shed so that it hinges inwards , I’m worried that the wood will rot where I make my cuts though with the jigsaw. Have you had any issues with any wood rotting where you have modified/cut the wood to make openings etc.

      I did initially have some issue where water got in and delaminated the shelf. Since I have put an overhang above the opening it has kept the water out.

    This is just what I was looking for. Great job! I’d like build one from the ground up myself. May I ask the approximate dimensions of the shed (in feet), pls?

    Hi Darrell! I want to do the same at my backyard, but my idea is to install glass window and the outside with mirror effect. Do you think this will scare the birds? many thanks. Nice video!

    • @DarrellOakdenPhotography
      @DarrellOakdenPhotography  3 года назад

      My best guess would be that it wouldn't scare the birds. They seem more concerned with movement. I would still suggest a hole for the camera rather than shooting through glass. At one point I did think about having a heater in the shed but this caused the the windows to steam up.

    The person could do with some support under his shelf. We all know what camera shake is and that shelf will not do.

      Thanks for your comment. Since I made this video I have put extra support under the shelf to make it more stable. I am not sure if I mentioned it in a subsequent video, but the the shelf has been stabilised.
