From someone who, at first, was super mad because in my opinion, it was a win out of sympathy, I will not deny that the more I hear this song, the better it gets. The flute part is amazing, I had it playing in my head for days now and I think this is on the way of being one of my favorite ESC songs of all time. It’s a well deserved win.
I was sort of on the same boat as you before the contest started. And then realised that even if it's a sympathetic win Ukraine needs it right now. Also found out two of the groups' members couldn't attend because they're active in the military defence and that broke my heart. And on top of everything they performed the song with so much passion it blew me away.
Eurovision completely passed me by last year. But this year I watched the final and saw them perform this song at the start of the show, and I fell in love. What a great song. What a moment. You can hear the emotion in his voice during this performance after winning.
I think it was very likely Ukraine would win regardless of the song they performed as eurovision is just a popularity contest but this song actually goes hard

I’ve listened to the top 5 and they all are very good, but mostly they are pop radio songs and we have a lot of those… a Eurovision winner is (almost every year) someone who brings something different, something authentic. I guess it will be true for almost every winner within the last 20 years.
To those who say “it’s a sympathy vote”: it diminishes the fact that Ukraine put forward a good song, well staged and well performed. They deserve the win on their own merit.
They came 2nd in their national selection. The winner was DISQUALIFIED, so no matter what song they could've sent, they would've won this. And in my opinion, UK OR SPA deserved it.
I've been wondering how that flute works for a week, it sounds amazing! 💛💙 Wikipedia says: "The telenka (Ukrainian: Теленка) (telynka, tylynka) is an overtone flute, a primitive form of dentsivka without fingerholes. The pitch produced from the instrument is changed by placing a finger into the open end of the pipe, and covering this opening by a half or third etc. and also by the strength of the player's breath." Ok, so it's basically magic :D

I don't like the rapping bit but the chorus is really good...catchy!...love their passion. The UK's entry wasn't half bad either...well done Sam. Very impressed. The fact we can enjoy some silly entertainment in the middle of multiple wars, a pandemic and death throes of our planet, gives aliens an interesting perspective on how well we dealt with it all.
Team Norway vibing to them at the end is absolutely giving Stefania dancing to Zitti E Buoni in 2021. Ironic especially since she and the song are both named Stefania!

German is a great language if one wants to write a technical manual for engine maintenance. Not so great for singing pop songs though :) I also love the Ukranian songs. I still come back to watch this performance all the time and now, two months later I still tear up . The best Eurovision winner for many years, in my opinion and such a wonderful energetic performance for a winners version . This was an epic show of solidarity with Ukraine apart from being a well deserved win for a great song.

While I really like the song and staging I Can't Help but to notice how insanely cruel it is to give a country that's fighting for it's life a win in a concert meant to entertain the rest of Europe. While I like what they have done here and don't want to take anything away from these guys I can't help but feel it was a complte fix due to the current conflict. Just from the amount of dislikes I can see not everyone agrees with this win.
It's not a fix, that would imply foul play. People from every country massively voted for them, in solidarity. The reasons behind these votes have always been multiple and complex, this year was simply more intense (and everyone agreeing on it, which is itself historical :'D ) but no less legitimate than any other year. Besides, the fact the SECOND most voted act behind them was Moldova should be a tell, that this song very much did please the audience and wasn't entirely irrelevant to the win! We love this sort of sound.
Oh boy don't you remember when Netta won in 2018? The amount of dislikes was so much worse 🤣 this time at least we all can justify their victory whether you love the song or not.

The best Eurovision winner for many years, in my opinion and such a wonderful energetic performance for a winners version . While I really like the song and staging I Can't Help but to notice how insanely cruel it is to give a country that's fighting for it's life a win in a concert meant to entertain the rest of Europe. It feels selfish and apathetic. It almost feels like a "I know you're going through a hard time but I need to get my social acceptance points on the internet so I'll vote for you to feel better, oh what is that? The winner was decided back in February
While I like what they have done here and don't want to take anything away from these guys I can't help but feel it was a complte fix due to the current conflict.
Just from the amount of dislikes I can see not everyone agrees with this win.
It's not a fix, that would imply foul play. People from every country massively voted for them, in solidarity. The reasons behind these votes have always been multiple and complex, this year was simply more intense (and everyone agreeing on it, which is itself historical :'D ) but no less legitimate than any other year. Besides, the fact the SECOND most voted act behind them was Moldova should be a tell, that this song very much did please the audience and wasn't entirely irrelevant to the win! We love this sort of sound.
Oh boy don't you remember when Netta won in 2018? The amount of dislikes was so much worse 🤣 this time at least we all can justify their victory whether you love the song or not.
