I love this year's Eurovision, it was such an interesting collaboration between Ukraine and the United Kingdom. I am fascinated by the work of dozens of people who filmed, edited and produced this competition, it is incredibly interesting. I'm surprised and moved by Kate's piano playing, like..the future queen is playing piano in the Kalush Orchestra music video, what?! Thanks to all the people involved in this huge project that we can enjoy such wonderful results. With love from Kyiv.

Kalush Orchestra, 2022's winner, mixed video recorded in Ukraine with live performance in Liverpool in an opening sequence that included a cameo appearance from Britain's Kate, Princess of Wales, playing the piano, the beautiful voice of Joss Stone, my local singer/songwriter and Andrew Lloyd Webber on piano.
But as the contest was underway, Russian missiles hit the western Ukrainian city of Ternopil, home to electro-pop duo Tvorchi, this year's entry from the country.
Very few huge cities have not seen russian missiles or drones...

Brought a tear to my eyes. They held a very gracious opening to this Eurovision. Oleg looked very serious on that stage. It was very bittersweet and memorable. Thank you Ukraine for these guys, it was a impactful intro video and amazing stage performance with a lot of meaningful visual messages. Especially them standing in palms of a mother.

The way it was all put together, it reminded me of the very inclusive London Olympics opening ceremony. Times like this I'm so proud to be British.
Kalush Orchestra would have scored high no matter what. Rapping is rare in Eurovision, mixing folk and modern tunes is creative, native languages are appreciated, and it's catchy af.
