For those of you who are complaining about then front end, i shit you not, it looks extremely better in person, cameras just do not give this car justice. I just picked one up in white, absolutely dig this car, only gripe is the fake hood vents a little pretentious i think.
I agree 100%!! lol. I'm getting mine in two days, in red. It looks way better in person. Cameras also do not give this car justice in the exhaust department as well. Much better in person overall.
yeah bro it does, first thing i did though was plasti dipped the chrome "whiskers" now it looks how it should have been from the factory ha. well enjoy your new genesis trust me, it's a gonna be a good relationship, we have not hit any bumps on the road yet. :ba-dum PSHH:
I plan on doing the same exact thing! JUst an FYI, (I don't remember what website) but you can buy a carbon fiber? or just all black cover for the "whiskers" lol. Cost $150 I believe? But not bad at all for the price. And unfortunately, I had not gotten mine quite yet ;( I actually plan on saving a bunch of mula over the next 3-4 months now, to pay off a little more than half of the vehicle, my reasoning, is that I'm a nursing major, so soon enough I'll have to find a nurse related job in a hospital (this gives me extra points for the University that I attend). Unfortunately, taking on a job like this for experience, I'll only make like $10 an hour... yuk... that's a third of what I make now as a Bartender... lmao. sooooo I need to basically buy the car so I don't screw myself financially.. ;( sighhhhh lol... and yeah bro, stay off those potholes man!! especially with those low profile tires my man!! I live in Michigan... pothole COUNTRY!!! by the sounds of it... you live in a cold decollate place too... just an FYI for if you do.. not too sure if you already know this... but those tires are only summer tires, so make sure you buy some really good winter tires, I would just switch them off for every season, that's what I'll do. Hope all this useless info helps.. lol Update me with car bro.
I just bought a 2011 3.8 R-spec .. COULDN'T BE HAPPIER! 5,000 miles, we drove 4 hours out to get it, and I drove it 4 hours back... it is truly a fantastic car, there was a little rattling but nothing the surprisingly impressive sound system could overcome
When I see the rear I'm always blown away by how amazing it looks and makes me wanna buy one. And then I take a look at the front and want to set it on fire. So it all balances out. It's an average looking car.
Kyle. I'm a big fan and watch all of your videos. It only took me 1 day after this video to go to a dealer to test drive this thing, and it is amazing. If it weren't for slow financing, I would have driven it home Saturday night, but now I have to wait until Monday to get an answer on the financing. If all works out, I will soon drive a blue base 2.0T auto. Thanks Kyle.
You're not the only one, I too hate it, here in India people STILL drive manuals like in old days, just for worry sake of fuel mileage and wheres the fun in that? I want to have FUN in driving! and NOT gear shifting & clutching every darn seconds...
I just got a genesis coupe grand touring about a month ago and it is a big improvement over previous years this car is just about perfect it will drive smooth give you power give you sound give you luxury just a great all around vehicle it cant get much better for a car this price and s few more upgrades and this car defiantly competes with higher end car companies
Just love that car, but if i ever have the money i would go for the 3.8 version. Sound is much better. Thanks for all the car reviews man, i enjoy watching them, and i havent found anyone better than you. You take at least your time. Keep up the good work. And enjoy it. Greetings a fan from belgium
Hey kyle ! Just watched your first ever video of the lexus with the subs! good job man! 3 years and probobly 1500= vids you're still an awesome reviewer! Keep it up
My fiance has the base Sonata. While the interior is great looking, the front passenger seat also lacks a height adjustment and feels odd sitting in it next to the driver if the driver has the seat up high. We call it the "baby seat" because you feel so small. Great review as always Kyle...
Driving a manual is only a matter of practicing a couple days. I promise, at first it might seem a little tough, but after a few days or weeks, it becomes second nature and it's REALLY much more fun than automatic!
I DIDNT NOW WHERE TO PUT THIS COMMENT SO IM PUTTING IT HERE! your sister´s video was epic, it was cool to see a little inside the life of this "car lover" that we have listen maaaany videos... cool family, cool neightborhood, cool life (i have to admit that in one point of the video i thought you were going to said..Hi this is the indept tour of the 2012 chevy cruze..LOL)
IMO they killed the look! The 2012 Genesis Coupe was beautiful in a way because of how subtle and calm it looked.. they went completely crazy with the face
Hey Kyle,I'm one of ur biggest fans! I watch u everyday. I love older muscle cars such as Chargers, Camaros and so on and so forth. My parents sometimes tease me because I spend hours watching you. I would like to meet u in North Carolina or wherever. I just making a request for you to make a 1965 Pontiac GTO please. Thank you very much for taking time to read this. Thank you!
Excellent review Saabkyle04! Thank you for your thoroughness. I also really enjoyed your review of the white 2010 that you purchased. Hopefully you will review the 3.8GT soon as I am awaiting delivery of one :-)
Kyle, the highest performance version was the track model, not the Grand Touring as that was just a more luxury based trim. Track had the upgraded springs and dampers, as well as lowered ride height plus upgraded wheels, tires and brakes.
Hyundai is really stepping it up. Go look at the 2013 Hyundai Eqqus it just says luxury all over it. The best thing about Hyundai is the mpg and the prices.
Seems like a pretty good review to me, and apparently to many other users that subscribe and watch. saabkyle04 gives me a pretty good idea of what to expect with this type vehicle in terms of interior comfort and quality, engine note, styling, performance data, as well as other useful specifications an details. Attacking him on his experience or expertise in terms of reviewing cars is baseless and ignorant. saabkyle04 has a pretty big following, obviously he's doing something right.
My 03 Tiburon just rolled 197k and I drive it hard daily. I'll pick up 2.0t this week:) but ill keep the tib for work car. Hyundai is very reliable. And ill take base 2.0t over the r spec. I can't do without cruise control. And ill put my own 19s
yeah! :D been waiting for someone to actually review it and you are the first so congrats. Good thing too because I watch a bunch of your videos...idk why I'm not subscribed lol will subscribe now :) but what do you think of this car? I like it but I want to see the Scion FRS too and compare. Hope you are first on the FRS too :)
I test drove one of these today for shits and giggles (right now, I cannot buy one). The sales person told me that his buddy was up the other day and test drove it for some 20+miles just for shits and giggles, too. I loved it. What an awesome car. Love the looks and the engine. I'd love to have one... but at the current time I can't afford one :(
This is my baby. Let me tell you shes a very smooth ride. I can get to 60mph in 6 or so seconds. The only problem I've had is if you floor it the car accelerates so fast that it has problems changing to 3rd or 4th gear on the automatic trans. Other then that she is amazing.
just bought a 13 coupe 2.0t, gota wait for delivery, but after driving a v6 stang rental, i would recomend the genesis. an 8 speed triptonic with paddle shifters is way the heck more fun.
The Mustang V6 is limited at 120. It is limited there because the driveshaft wasn't meant to handle higher speeds. It was a decision Ford made to cut costs because they didn't think the V6 drivers would go as fast. I'm sure there's an aftermarket replacement for the driveshaft if you're going to take it to the track, but if you're not, then just don't go past 120. The engine is fine.
The instrument cluster is taken straight off an Acura TL! But the new Acura RDX has taken some styling cues from Hyundai too ;) ..Especially the ribbon headlight design
I agree with Kyle about the aux port. Especially in the stick shift model it would be in the way! Not to mention you would have to keep that cover down and its rather ugly when open.
I HIGHLYL recommend the 3.8 R-Spec.. it's a ton of fun, and a BEAUTIFUL car, I've had it 2 weeks and already I've had alot of turned heads, and 2 people have asked me what kind of car it is at stoplights.. It's not as fast as the competition(idk about vs. STI), but it's just such a fun car.. Idk much about clutch's as this is my first manual car, but it's pretty smooth, there have been issues with some others but nothing a trip to the dealer wouldn't fix.. I got my 2011 w/ 5k miles for $23k
Would you recommend the Genesis 3.8 R-spec. I am going to get a new car soon and I cant decide between it and the 2012 Subaru WRX STI. How is the transmission on the car, is the clutch sensitive?
i just went down to my auto mall and drove his car same color and everything lol. diffrent car lot tho, my local hundia it was 21,000$ had paddle shifters kewl
Actually... the base genesis does in fact come with 274HP and 275 Lb/Ft.. and some tuned 2.0T's can push 400hp no prob since the chassis is designed well and the engine is very capable.
Yes, but they aren't actually automatic gearboxes. They are manual gearboxes, but they have electronically-assisted clutches that are operated with the paddle-shifters.
I can't believe how far Hyundai has come! This car is sick!
about to buy a genesis and see one of my top you tubers as the top comment
No way....
For those of you who are complaining about then front end, i shit you not, it looks extremely better in person, cameras just do not give this car justice. I just picked one up in white, absolutely dig this car, only gripe is the fake hood vents a little pretentious i think.

I'm amazed at how Hyundai have lifted their game. From the Getz and the i30 to this in just 5 or so years. Very impressive.
Man this car is a huge throwback to the 80's and 90's golden age of sport coupe. I like that.
I have this car! love it.. bright red with black rims
same here bro!
Sounds nice bro but white all the way
I just bought a 2011 3.8 R-spec .. COULDN'T BE HAPPIER! 5,000 miles, we drove 4 hours out to get it, and I drove it 4 hours back... it is truly a fantastic car, there was a little rattling but nothing the surprisingly impressive sound system could overcome
Im getting this as my first car :)
Did you end up getting it?
@@aidanbranigan7082 Yes! Still holding up strong
@@iscooterz2 I’m getting it as my first car too
@@combowombo8517 how is it?
I’m hopefully getting it as my first also soon before school starts
yeeeees :) you're the first person to do an actual review of the car after its release.
Okay the car is cool and all but.. what song is at 14:10? pls
Shaggy - Boombastic
Sir, you should do road test reviews also! I love how you take time for everything, and not just run by in 2 minutes...
When I see the rear I'm always blown away by how amazing it looks and makes me wanna buy one. And then I take a look at the front and want to set it on fire.
So it all balances out. It's an average looking car.
Mee too , I would definitely replace the bumper with a kit
first gen with the second gen tail lights is perfect
Kyle. I'm a big fan and watch all of your videos. It only took me 1 day after this video to go to a dealer to test drive this thing, and it is amazing. should i buy one of these for 11K
Yeeee
Hell yeah.
I just bought one with 26,000 miles for 12K, and I’m loving it.
This is the first car that I have actually liked the sound of 4 cylinder. Amazing.
I hate manual transmission you know why because I don't know how to use it
Then you're missing a whole lot of fun. You should learn how to use one.
You're not the only one, I too hate it, here in India people STILL drive manuals like in old days, just for worry sake of fuel mileage and wheres the fun in that?
I want to have FUN in driving! and NOT gear shifting & clutching every darn seconds...
True
I'm gonna pretend I didn't just see this whole comment thread, except Chevy Camaro's comment
Step one put your foot on clutch and done
I have seen many of your reviews, you do such a great job of reviewing cars. Great job and continue doing what you do best!
THE PREMIUM 2.0t SHOULD HAVE A STICK UGHH
DiamondXman
not the premium trim only rspec or base
im lookin at a 2010 2.0T w/ 24k miles premium edition i test drove it has a lot of guts, that turbo really make the 4 banger shine
i love these
I just got a genesis coupe grand touring about a month ago and it is a big improvement over previous years this car is just about perfect it will drive smooth give you power give you sound give you luxury just a great all around vehicle it cant get much better for a car this price and s few more upgrades and this car defiantly competes with higher end car companies
I drive an 08 tib i4. I hated these at first but then a salesman convinced me to drive one..
Pshh.. fuck my tib. I'm trading next month!!
Okay I'm sorry but is that shifter just hideous or is it just me...?
Nope it is hideous
looks so much better than the older model :) amazing as always kyle! never goes a day without watching your videos :) best car channel on youtube!!
All I can hear when he opens the hood is something that sounds like a kid's rear bike tire with a card stuck to it.
I hate that about our damn turbo.
What year did you have?
love genesis coupe ; ) i like your genesis coupe too saabkyle
Hey kyle ! Just watched your first ever video of the lexus with the subs! good job man! 3 years and probobly 1500= vids you're still an awesome reviewer! Keep it up
For such a high powered sports car, fuel economy numbers are impressive!! Those hyundai Engineers really know what it takes into building a great car
My fiance has the base Sonata. While the interior is great looking, the front passenger seat also lacks a height adjustment and feels odd sitting in it next to the driver if the driver has the seat up high. We call it the "baby seat" because you feel so small.
Great review as always Kyle...
i bought this 2 days back... believe me the exterior looks very nice compared to what you see in pictures.....
this guy should be on tv he's great taking about cars
Awesome in depth look at the car, really wanted to see how the base model is. Lots of details shown, thanks.

you can definitely see the breeding with the design following all the other hyundai cars. i like it!
man that audio system sounds great

Hyundai is really stepping it up. Go look at the 2013 Hyundai Eqqus it just says luxury all over it. The best thing about Hyundai is the mpg and the prices.

Not a bad... not bad at all.
All I need to see is proven reliability from Hyundai and these cars are world class. No joke.
274hp, rwd and all this in the entry level model. Hyundai have come a long way. If this car was available in europe I would but it
yeah! :D been waiting for someone to actually review it and you are the first so congrats. Wow your page is the best for those who wants to know about a car. Could you present a avaliation of the new Hyundai Azera ?
wow... What an upgrade... Never took this car seriously, but now...
@saabkyle04 what canera are you using for this video? And what happened to your sd1400is? Also i wanted to know the model of the one ur using...
Can't wait for the 3.8 video
Hyundai refreshed half way through each model year to keep cars as relevant as possible with new models every 5-6 years. It's in no way a bad thing.
Absolutely love my 13 2.0t, considering the V6 in a few years dat exhaust note on the 3.8 doe!!!
i ended up getting a 2010 3.8, great car i love it :D
Its because the door is open or the seat belt isn't on, normally there would be no beep. Kyle usually leaves the door open.
That unmistakable hyundai engine sound 7:58 my 2003 2.7L sounded the same.
I test drove one of these today for shits and giggles (right now, I cannot buy one). The sales person told me that his buddy was up the other day and test drove it for some 20+miles just for shits and giggles, too.

damn dude, sorry to hear that, tell your parents you deserve more! school is hard work haha.
the audio/speakers sounds really good!!!!

i like the exterior styling of the Pre-Refresh model abit better but they did improve the interior.
The instrument cluster is taken straight off an Acura TL! But the new Acura RDX has taken some styling cues from Hyundai too ;) ..Especially the ribbon headlight design
this is either a love it or hate it. personally i fricken love it. kind reminds me of a tiburon a bit. i want this car soo bad
I agree with Kyle about the aux port. Especially in the stick shift model it would be in the way! Not to mention you would have to keep that cover down and its rather ugly when open.
348hp out of a 3.8 v6..my god, im very impressed with this vehicle!
Oh Kyle...doesn't this bring back memories?!?!?!?!? :)
Very good in-depth review five star for person who made the review and for car four star
Nice work!
love the exhaust sound :)
I wish they would do that. I just love the way the 05 tiburons looked. Although, this one isn't that bad.
Would you recommend the grand touring model version of this? I really want a nice car but cant decide between this or a ford mustang...
I HIGHLYL recommend the 3.8 R-Spec.. it's a ton of fun, and a BEAUTIFUL car, I've had it 2 weeks and already I've had alot of turned heads, and 2 people have asked me what kind of car it is at stoplights..

I got my 2011 w/ 5k miles for $23k
bet all the old memories of your genesis just came flowing back when you saw this car :L
good review and style but you need an external lapel mic with a dead cat on that mic to cancel out the wind noise.
just raced one of these in my 2000 si from a dig. i kept up with it by a bumper. im not even boosted yet....
Would you recommend the Genesis 3.8 R-spec. I am going to get a new car soon and I cant decide between it and the 2012 Subaru WRX STI. How is the transmission on the car, is the clutch sensitive?
Can you do the 2013 Mazda CX5 GT?
i just went down to my auto mall and drove his car same color and everything lol. diffrent car lot tho, my local hundia it was 21,000$ had paddle shifters kewl
What do YOU think Kyle? Weird that you haven't said your thoughts on it.
Great video... Love the exhaust note... A little exotic kinda.... But what about the 8 speed automatic? Its automatic? Or twin clutch?
i kinda like the looks .. kinda like veloster and i love the veloster.. one of my fav sport coupes :)
Actually... the base genesis does in fact come with 274HP and 275 Lb/Ft.. and some tuned 2.0T's can push 400hp no prob since the chassis is designed well and the engine is very capable.
Yes, but they aren't actually automatic gearboxes. They are manual gearboxes, but they have electronically-assisted clutches that are operated with the paddle-shifters.
hey Kyle which car do you yourself drive? still the previous genesis coupe or did you get something/are planning to get something else?
sounds really good for a little 2.0 turbo
What a car! I wonder what the price difference is between this and the grand touring model
Need to do a review of the 2013 Genesis Coupe 3.8 :D I love mine!
Astounding!
AMAZING I LOVE THIS CAR! :D
