@@danielthomas4533 beautiful. But I will say one thing, if it is available for you to get then before you purchase it.. check the trunk for water damage. I bought a manual BK2 and had second gear lock out. I purchased and installed the megan racing trans mount and it fixed the lock out. After searching for an entire summer I found the perfect genesis coupe with 80,000 miles on it, clean record and 1 owner. It was for sale at some dealership in Virginia. I flew out to Virginia (from Minneapolis) and when I got to the car, I was told the car had been in a collision and been rebuilt. To measure for hub rings you need a digital caliper. The stock hub on genesis coupes is 67.1mm. You need to measure the bore of the wheel. I order 3 sets unsuccessfully before measuring, save yourself time and money and measure it.
When you bought the wheels from fitment industries they should have put the wheel bore size in the order statement. Any good wheel company does. Go back to your order statement and see if you can find it.
Hmm that’s weird; I got a BK1 and my stock wheels are fine and no colour is peeling on the inside. Living in Montreal so winters are really hard on the wheels and summer sun is really strong on the interior but I guess tinted windows maybe helps? 🤷🏻♂️ Watched a few of your videos btw, nice car dude 👍🏻
I have a 2012 genesis coupe 2.0t R-spec with 112,500 miles and she runs pretty good, has a few issues but, it's more cosmetic than actually mechanical, BUT I do have to get a new sync for the transmission. I did buy it like that so 🤷♂️

Wheel bearings - I doubt it. It has sealed bearings, so you normally wouldn't be able to "hear" the issue. Bad wheel bearings on most other cars, it would sound like a bag of marbles.
You forgot rear side windows also water leak. I had that issue with unknowingly when I got the car. When Harvey hit Houston I had some water get in the car and messed up the electrical stuff in that car. I was only able to enjoy the car for a few months.
In the ten years that I've owned my Genesis coupe 2.0 T I've changed the tires, one hub bearing, and one major tune up. K&N Air filter, along with a K&N oil filter at 123k miles, the car is die hard. But on long road trips I rent a car now. Road trips over four hours.

Maybe using the sun visor for my car everyday is what saved it.
try to check for some rocks in ur tire tread mine were making a ticking noise after i got new wheels. Might not be the same noise or problem but its a free fix and worth a look.
It is definitely a transmission slip, a lot of the times not even techs cant diagnose a transmission slip especially when it doesn't happen every time. That transmission is only going to last so long especially on long drives it will just noticeably get worse.
No idea if this will get answered but now it being 2020 and so many inexpensive cars having so many amenities like cooled seats, apple car play, and blind-spot assist, and more that I can't think of. I own this car too it’s most likely the noise is from the timing chain they tend to tick a lot it’s not bad but it usually happens and wheel shake does tend to happen mostly at 60 mph it can’t be from tread wear or unbalanced wheels a good alignment fixes a lot and then hub centric rings will help .
I was told its the fuel pump. Mechanic told me a lot of the hyundai & kia cars fuel pumps make that sound. My wifes kia optima does and my genesis does too. Drives fine

I have a 2012 genesis coupe 2.0t R-spec with 112,500 miles and she runs pretty good, has a few issues but, it's more cosmetic than actually mechanical, BUT I do have to get a new sync for the transmission. I did buy it like that so 🤷♂️
What gear? My 2.0t grinds into 5th over 4k rpm
For me, no. Front brakes blew up at 60k miles. Never been driven hard. Cost me a small fortune to fix. Sold her for a 2006 wrx, even more unreliable 😎
Lmaoooooooo
if you ever get bored and tired of that tail lights lmk !!!
2010 coupe 3.8 track- car has been amazing for 5 years now I did have to chance co presser for ac. Other than that regular maintenance but if u get in a accident expect to pay about 3k to fix ur front bumper and shit
Damn this kit looks sick asf 🔥🔥🥵
Wheel bearings - I doubt it. It has sealed bearings, so you normally wouldn't be able to "hear" the issue. Bad wheel bearings on most other cars, it would sound like a bag of marbles.
Im Getting a 2013 3.8L GT soon 😍😍 can't wait
You forgot rear side windows also water leak. I had that issue with unknowingly when I got the car. When Harvey hit Houston I had some water get in the car and messed up the electrical stuff in that car. I was only able to enjoy the car for a few months.
In the ten years that I've owned my Genesis coupe 2.0 T
I've changed the tires, one hub bearing, and one major tune up. K&N Air filter, along with a K&N oil filter at 123k miles, the car is die hard. But on long road trips I rent a car now. Road trips over four hours.
10 years ?! 😳
@@bk2les 2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe 2.0 T. No real reason to get rid of it actually. I might buy an suv for the bad weather and keep the Genesis off the road.
Broo definitely wanting a 2.0t more now 🤤
Sounds like you had an unlucky one. How old is this GC? My 2016 I bought and owned since day one hasn't had any problems to this day (2016-today in terms of ownership) Not even the paint peeling or the wheel peeling. I park mine out in the hot sun too. Maybe using the sun visor for my car everyday is what saved it.
try to check for some rocks in ur tire tread mine were making a ticking noise after i got new wheels. Might not be the same noise or problem but its a free fix and worth a look.
Btw. If you go to Discount Tire they will get you the right hub ring size.
They have a plasti dip removal spray. But if you want to protect it you're gonna want to ceramic coat the wheels
Idk if you figured out if it was the bearings or not but Jack the tire up and try to wobble it. First up and down then left to right
My front right makes a weird pulsing sound too. Hyundai said it's mechanically perfect. It's very strange. Hope u figure out what's wrong
Answer at 7:00
The car looks good the way it is
I am confused between the Genesis coupe (2013-2016) and Accord V6 coupe (2013-2017), both automatic. Which is better for a college student?
Reliability wise the accord will betto
Bro your car is so clean!!! I have a question for you though? Do you have a instagram ?
Thanks man! And yessir, its @ethanweckwert
Yeah the point of it sticking past the tires is legalities. The tires can't be the widest. It only takes one pissed off statey
My Genny has a weird slipping in the second gear. I thought it was a transmission issue, but no one can identify the issue. It comes randomly for me.
Yea same here my 2nd gear sucks idk what to do about it
Does it only slip under heavy acceleration?
It is definitely a transmission slip, a lot of the times not even techs cant diagnose a transmission slip especially when it doesn't happen every time. That transmission is only going to last so long especially on long drives it will just noticeably get worse.
Now I want one. Love the look btw
No idea if this will get answered but now it being 2020 and so many inexpensive cars having so many amenities like cooled seats, apple car play, and blind-spot assist, and more that I can't think of. Do ever miss those features. I drive a 2015 Kia optima sxl (the only reason I say trim is bc it comes with all those features) and I've been looking at the Genesis Coupe. I know its different for everyone, some just like a car bc of the experience others because of the interior stuff. I have my foot in both camps, I like being able to roll down the window and hear the motor but also being able to listen to music and a good sound system.
I've had my gen coupe for 11 years (bought new) , and have never had paint pealing off the stock wheels. I daily it all year round... I live in snow country.
how many miles ?
Don’t be lazy and flip the fins man 🤣
He mentioned on his other video that he prefers them this way 🤷🏽♂️ if he likes it then it's his decision, tbh I like both ways lol some people mind it some don't
Hey man, love your videos. Just recently bought a 2013 3.8 grand touring and your channel helped me pull the trigger. Just curious if you still run the throttle controller, and if you've had any issues with it? Thanks!
Thanks man! Congrats on the genny! And yea im still running it to this day, so far its been awesome and no problems at all! I plan on keeping it on until I tune the car!
@@GenesisCoupeHUB thanks for the response! Out of curiosity, what do you have your throttle controller set to? I just installed mine and I'm trying to find a comfortable setting for daily driving. Thanks!
Im about to purchase one of the same year/trim myself, have you had any water leakage problems in tbe trunk/spare tire area or the sunroof? That or any other issues youve had with that specific model, if you're reading this thanks so much for the response!
Drives fine
You need that new grille.
Sick gen!
I don't even have to watch this to answer that. YES.
I really like the car but I’m so scared to get one because all my friends just pound into my head how unreliable genesis/Hyundai’s are and how shit their engines are and I’m just scared of buying a unreliable car
If you are scared don’t buy it……you got to love it 😍
Hey bro you gotta get you those lightweight pulleys next you can feel so much difference
you should mod that front bumper. i did mine at it took about 3 to 4 hours but it looks so much better.
What do you mean ?
I appreciate what your trying to tell everyone about the car. I'm in the market for one as it ticks all the boxes. You need to lay off the red bull and allow some pauses and time to breathe in your videos though.
I’d say just leave it. They look dope!
Keep it that way!!
Insurance in Lithuania is like 100-200 euros per year. You shouldn't involve financing and insurance in ownership costs, because those things are totally dependent on a nation in question and how new car is. You did well to separate them while number from google is an absolute BS.
I’m trying to get a genesis with around 83k miles
i've had mine since 14, 14 3.8 ultimate, i've beat it down and not taken the best car and she's good. lol like pretty solid. i've only had to replace stuff i screwed up on it 🤷🏾♂️
forgot about the leaky trunk. that wasn't fun 🤦🏾 other than that! it's chill. keep the sunroof channels clean as well as what he said in the vid. it's expensive to fix.
how is it now
@@zeppkfw still running strong. she's just over 160k now. had to replace part of the wiring due to it getting damaged on the aftermarket exhaust but after that it seems to be even stronger somehow. averaging 400 miles a tank, no cap, and I'm working on getting some fenders on her and suspension arms for the alignment. should look muscular and clean when I get this stuff done, thanks for asking bro
@@williambrandon9660 That's awesome. I'm just worried about the reliability cus the car seems to be very meticulous about how it is maintained. At this point it's pretty hard finding a lower mileage gen coupe.
My fake hood vents are peeling pretty bad 😟. I’m probably going to have to plastidip mine
gctuner.com/hood-vents-c-1_210/
Thank me later
@@NezoOMG what about the water does it go directly under the hood I live in the Midwest
Have you ever heard of one that Boggs down in forward but runs great in reverse
Sick lights where did you get them?
When are you going to upload a new updated mod list with the prices ?
Was actually planning to do that soon!
My genny has the same problem with the shaking and that’s the only problem
Im the 1000th like ☺️☺️😂 nice video!!
Hi, I am considering buying a 2010 Hyundai Genesis 3.0 with 123,000 miles automatic. Do you think it is worth it? I want a reliable car to go at least 100k more miles. I don’t want lots of repairs. Any tips/feedback would be GREATLY appreciated.
Not really
Depends on the price. At that mileage your're looking at timing chain change, wheel bearings, motor mounts, and possible suspension work
Yoooo you are right at boonesborough by the river! You live in Richmond?
That Genesis looks really good
EthanW, I am thinking about getting the 2012 3.8 Genesis Sedan. Are the coupes and sedans on the same level reliability wise?
Anyone had problems with the break lights i cant figure out what it is ... ive checked the fuses its not that
121,000 2.0t motor had an oil pressure sensor fail and caused a spun bearing. Not to mention it vibrates like a train. AC compressor already blown up. Interior faded and plastic buttons break. It’s a Hyundai up and down. GET A Z
Why wouldn’t you say the year and miles? Like the problems are irrelevant if we don’t know what age it happened
Hey man looking at these for my first car I know this might be a personal question but how much do you spend on insurance is it more expensive then ur average 4 door sedan ?
I talked a bit about it in the video but I pay about $150 a month for insurance, however this wasn't my first car so since it would be yours id say ittle be a bit more for sure, compared to a 4 door id say maybe $100ish a month more but im not certain. Itd make an awesome first car bro if you get one let me know!
ethanW will do man I’m looking at one now for only about 4,500 with 90k miles on it guy says it just has a ticking noise with the motor which is something I think you mentioned in the video so who knows
Can you do some donuts in the next video?
Then I don’t know why when I put my G37s s coupe for sale in crailist , more than 5 people with genesis want to trade ?????
People don’t know how to build these cars properly or take care of them.
