      Hands down - not a fan! Great sound, wide sounstage and instrument separation mean ABSOLUTELY nothing if you cannot hear music while commuting and listening to passing cars, trains, crying babies and...even crickets. A hard pass for me. These are not for the commuter!

      Sony wf1000xm5 is complete package. They sound very close to az80 with a proper eq with wavelet app in a quiet conditions. In a noisy environment with Sony you can hear music, with Technics - only noise.

      @@mithrandir4146 it's funny that you said that because i have over 50 earbuds and 45 headphones over the ear and yes i know what i am talking about. And i just compared the az60 with the sony xm5 and i must say that anc between those two are different but not by much. Yes sony is better, BUT they sound so dull !!!! Not enough volume, not enough detail, not enough instruments separation and soundstage is way better with az60.
      Sony is average products that fit well with most people. But if you are the kind of person who said: i want excellent sound quality, instruments separation and soundstage, you must search elsewhere. Go with B&W products, B&O products, Focal and many more, or go with sennheiser the best value for your money :)

    Good day. About a month ago, I bought AZ-60 M2 and I am very satisfied with them. I had a Sennheiser CX PLUS SE before and after half a year the left earpiece first stopped working, solved by a complaint by replacing it with a new one, so I think, well, it happened, we'll see later, well, it passed five months and again the same problem, this time it was the right earphone. I was already very disappointed and angry at the same time. So after thoroughly reading all possible reviews, I bought this one. So I hope it will last much longer :-). Very nice review, greetings from the Czech Republic Republics.

    Excellent review. Ive had eaz80’s for four months now. I am one of those people that can have a difficult fit and after sometime I was able to upgrade the ear tips and found the XL fit to
    be great at sealing and comfort so I can now workout with them without having them fall out. The sound is indeed great for almost any genre and as an audiophile I am very satisfied.

  • @peterfang51

    I've been using the AZ80 for a month now and it's a very complete package with almost no glaring shortcomings. As a classical music lover and audiophile I'm quite happy with their sound without any EQ. ANC is slightly weaker than the AirPods Pro 2nd gen but just slightly. The ambient sound mode is the closest I've tried just a tad behind Apple. Microphone pickup is the best I've used, I can literally whisper during late night calls when the AirPods wouldn't be able to pick up well. They're extremely comfortable as well. There's even a feature to reduce noise on the caller's end (not mine) during a call. Add wireless charging and LDAC support you pretty much get everything you'll need. Well only aptX is missing I guess...

    • @peterfang51
      @peterfang51 8 месяцев назад

      You could try ear tips of a larger size and see if ANC improves with a better fit. I find it to be quite sensitive to fit. I don't think they're overpriced at all compared to the Bose Quietcomfort Ultras or the Sony XM5s.

    • @mithrandir4146
      @mithrandir4146 8 месяцев назад

      @@peterfang51 I have tried all sizes of eartips including XL that offers somewhat better noise cancellation, but then they hurt my ears. I have also tried comply foam eartips on az80 from a 3rd party. None of these survived the noise test of NYC subway or NYC street. Sony did with medium eartips on left and large on the right. Xm5 at $300 is overpriced. At $250 -just right! With Sony music player, ldac activated my flac files sound majestic! Technics are great for home, office or studio use, never - for the commute. It very clear that focus of Technics by Panasonic is on sound only and nothing else. Great sound means absolutely nothing when one cannot hear it in the midst of noisy environment of the outside world. These are NOT commuters. Period.

    Thanks for the review.
    l have always liked the brand but it was way too expensive when we were growing up, what was more accessible was JVC, Panasonic, Sony, AIWA, Pioneer, Kenwood, Sansui, Aika etc. Philips was dodgy but accessible, at least as l remember it.
    Anyway been wondering about these l think they have been out for a while now. Do you know how long they were and when they may be refreshed? I had the misfortune of buying the XM4 headphones and a few months, later the 5s came out. Love them but would have preferred the 5s despite what you and others say about them - future proofing.
    So it would be great if you can assist with this. By the way, l do not think you have done the Sennheiser Momentum which one of my friends absolutely loves, if you did my mistake, if not could you do that?

    I really love the Momentum 4 senhisers, but the problem with them is that they give out surprises, for example glitches with the connection, one of the ears falls off while listening. It's annoying when you pay 250 bucks.
    AZ80 sound at the same level, no better, no worse, very similar, but the reliability of the AZ80 is above all praise.
    There are also Denon Pearl Pros on the market, and they sound a little more interesting, but they look like huge round earrings.

    • @electricfatman

      The Pixel Buds Pro fit a little better for me. The AZ80s have so much better sound than the Pixel Buds. Also the AZ80 have a larger range of tips that come in the box. Their app suggests trying on a variety of sizes of tips for sound leakage, I have a smaller tip for my left ear. The slight discomfort of the AZ earbuds is no worse than Sony WF 1000XM5.
