Perfect review, thx! I've bought my AZ80 before seeing this, but it just confirmed my belief. Pity they dont perform as good in gaming, but youre right, this is not that purpose. I gonna pair them with my new Huawei Watch 4 Pro - we'll see how it works.
Crazy how much I needed this video its like you are me making this all the same views and a PC gamer to boot, I have the XM5 and AZ80, I have bose too. ANC is important but I do enjoy a good sound. I like th XM5 all round but I get an issue with the foam tips on the left side that causes the ANC mic to tick or tap during quiet songs, otherwise can stay in all day, ANC great. AZ80, great sound, but one place I disagree is that they are awful for ANC near traffic, they dont react or deal with some sounds like Sony with the foam or Bose, the pressure you mentioned, I get within 30 minutes and I get migraines as well as a tight jaw. But the AZ80 sound so damn good. Momentum 4 were on my short list with Jabra elite 10 gen 2, so you helped me a great deal thank you.
I have the sennheiser and Technics and my partner has the Sony. Hands down without a doubt the Technics are the best earbuds I have ever tried. The soundstage and clarity are on a whole new different level and the app has tons of customisation options. Sennheiser has the worst case, I always need a separate bag to carry them and they have connections issues every now and then. Sony are good but definitely over hyped.
does anyone have a problem with the az80 not charging up from t ime to time? I plug them and they stop charging at sosme point even thought the light is blinkin.. And then they start charging after a random number of times i plug them off and on.. Can anyone help?
I had all three. My favorites soundwise were the Sennheiser but call quality was horrendous. The Technics volume wasnt enough for me. Sony was my compromise, but if I didn't use them so often for phone calls id take the Momentum 4 all day
@@Hijynx87 given how much they're praised, in sure it's user error + possible not great compatibility with my phone. Still, Sennheiser are my faves for my use
I don’t know, I have to disagree. I had the Momentum 3, then tried the AZ80, but I thought the sound just wasn’t as good. The mids were less recessed, but it sounded distant. When I tried different eartips, the sound came closer, but then it was… “splashy” too. The Sennheisers just sounded more “together”. They are not perfect but I do prefer them. Just the basic sound quality, I find to be much better.
The Momentum 3 sound really good but the case is just so huge, it's annoying. Also I had to get them replaced 3 times (luckily within warranty) so the build quality is kinda shit and the customer support was awful.
I just ordered a pair of Technics AC80 when I got tired of my AirPods Pro losing contact with the left bud for the fifth time as well of the short battery time.
Technics has been my favorite sound signature for the last five plus years now. The original AZ70's blew away because they sounded natural, open and detailed. The AZ60's and AZ80's just got better and better. I can't speak on the Sennheiser's but I do own the XM5's and they an excellent pair buds also.
What kind of music do you listen to? I'm trying to find some reviews on classical music, more specifically pipe organ (my instrument) with no luck. I recently bought the Bose QC Ultra headphones and I'm not at all happy with the sound so won't go for their earbuds is all I know at this point. Torn between Technics, Jabra, Denon, Sennheiser and B&W possibly. Sony and Apple no.
@glasss1978 I can't speak for the others, but the Technics and a very natural, analog sounding earbud. They can handle any type of music. They have a very open sound stage and good instrument separation. I heard good things about the Denon's though and there on sale on Amazon. I wouldn't buy them because I don't want those big round things sticking out of my ears. Lol.
I been using the az80s ever since they came out and they been absolutely amazing, I did try the momentum 4s recently and wasn't impressed in two key categories the comfort and the sound the comfort for my right ear wasn't great and the sound was very disappointing especially for senheizer so overall the az80s have killed other earbuds for me overall
I preferred the sound in the sennheiser … but sent them back because the mic quality was below acceptable. Ended up with the technics. Love them overall .. but miss that sennheiser sound. I’d give the sennheiser a 5 for sound and az80 a 4. But sennheiser mic was only a 1 or 2.
Ugh... I bought the Technics and compared them to (and was hoping they'd replace) my AirPodsPro2's... It took only a few seconds to hear that the Technics' sound is much weaker than the APP2s. I didn't even try their Call-Quality ability (since the APP2s is pretty much the leader). I'm now waiting for my Bowers&Wilkins to arrive in the mail tomorrow to try them. But so far, the APP2s are (unfortunately) the leader. (I'm not a big Apple fan).... Android user.
I'm sorry, but at these price points, I need earbuds that have replaceable batteries. Also, it would be awesome if these companies started implementing the ability to choose "your' full charge from 80%, 85%, 90% or all the way to 100%. This would help get more than twice the battery life out of them. What kills these tiny lithium batteries is the fact they at 100% the whole time they are in the charger. We can do better!!!
Absolutely agree! The only earbuds that I am aware of that has replaceable batteries are the Fairbuds. The Momentum 4's do offer a battery protection mode which limits the charge to 80%.
You don't get twice the battery life with 80% changing where have you heard that a forum? Replaceable batteries require a larger form factor that's why they don't do it.
Sennheisers, because of the size of their case, are automatically eliminated for me. The Sonys are not bad, but I consider that since the XM3, Sony's ANC on its earbuds has not actually evolved, it's why Sony uses memory foam tips, to me, it's a bit like cheating, because I know that the other two with memory foam tips will be at the same level of ANC if not better. The Tecnics AZ80 are for me currently the best earbuds on the market, very very good sound 🔊, very good transparency mode, good quality of phone call in noisy environments (in fact you can find in the settings the perfect balance between the amount of ambient noise to eliminate and your voice), multipoint with 3 devices, good ANC but which needs to be improved a little bit. What Tecnics needs to improve on the next version, ANC, reduce the size of the earbuds a little bit, but above all, copy the touch gestures of the Pixel Buds Pro (the slide for volume). 🙏🏽

Yeah, that happened once for me, I think those connector pins can get a bit finicky.
AZ80 is the closest bud to the APP2 in the transparency i've tried. The status 3anc are also good, but have some white noise in transparency.

Which one has more bass when you put bass on max?
I prefer the bass on the Sony XM5 when on max.
@@jetfuviewok. Thanks, but which one has more ?
@@jasonMB999Technics has a richer fuller sound, but the bass on the xm5 isn't as rolled off in the subbass.

Airpods pro 2 or oneplus buds pro 2/3.

Both sound quality and comfort hands down go to the technics AZ 80s. Sennheiser over the years have been a disastrous choice due to their mediocre QA.
And for apple users? Is az80 a better choise compare to airpods pro2 ?
当然是app2
