    I actually own both the TW4 and the AZ80 and really like them both. I bought the AZ80 hoping to return the TW4, but when listening to the sound quality side buy side I slightly preferred the TW4 especially using the personaized sound settings on the TW4 app. I have decided to keep them both thank you for your insight.

    I just got both of them. Technics fit better and feel better. Their transparent mode is better. Noice canceling almost similar to me maybe a bit better on technics. The sound though is a bit better on MTW4 imo even though I dont have support for aptx adaptive they might sound even better. Might send back MTW4 because just a bit better sound won't do it for me.
    Thank you for making me try AZ80 haven't heard them before
    Edit: MTW4 ANC is better but I hate a backsound noice they give me when using ANC they also sound louder
    People around me can hear Technics more than MTW4 even though they are not louder

    My biggest preference in earbuds is the rumble/immersiveness they can give (without sounding muddy ofc), which so far the MTW3 were my favorites.
    Would you say the Technics are better for that compared to MTW3/4 (or maybe you know an even better one)?

    Sent my MTW4 back today and picked up the AZ-80. Youre definitely on point with your opinions. The sound, for me, the mtw4 does sound a bit crisper but the bass is lack luster. The AZ-80 on the other hand the bass is damn good and balance. And the transparency mode is absolutely better than the MTW4.

I have airpod pro 2, soundcore NC 4, liberty 3 pro and had Sony Xm4 but returned them due to ear irritation. Technics sound so clear they are now my go to - even at the gym.

  • @andrewdhome
    @andrewdhome 10 месяцев назад +5

    This is a hard one. I have A-B testing these. TW4 much better for ANC but much worse for transparency - no only a hissing but an occasional crackling. AZ80 has better connection, even on LDAC. TW4 for me gave a better fit (the wings are great) but the tips are rubbish. AZ80 case is much nicer. Controls are good on both and well configurable but AZ80 seems less prone to accidental touches. For all that I would go with the AZ80s. But the sound quality on Android is streets ahead on the TW4. Actually, not really the sound quality - they are both very close (once you have sold your soul and done the sound personalisation on the TW4) - but the soundstage is so much wider, even using LDAC on the 80s. Tough decision and the return window is approaching!!!
    I do think you should try them on Android. There is a noticeable difference on a higher bandwidth codex than on iOS (I use both)

  • @northernlights9814
    @northernlights9814 10 месяцев назад +4

    Thanks for the review, you are enthusiastic. Some strong claims there. That many other reviewers are liars. I am sure some of them might say you are the liar. The fact is everything is subjective and I see some experienced reviewers say the Sennheiser 4 Momentum are the best earbuds at least when it comes to sound, better than the Technics AZ 80 and all other competitors, while others say the Sony 1000XM5 are the best, others again claim the Airpods Pro 2 are the best, and others again say the Jabra Elite 10 are the best. On top of this you have many who claim the Denon are the best of all.
    I believe it all comes down to personal preference because no earbuds are perfect in every category. For some ANC is important, for others it is unimportant. For some sound is King, for others it is comfort. For some bulky earbuds are a no-no regardless of quality, for others it is unimportant as long as quality is high. And you will find fanboys of all varieties on RUclips downtalking competitors (focusing on problems with certain buds and falsely saying they are bad overall) and uptalking their chosen earbuds (conveniently forgetting to mention downsides). I think we just have to accept that this is the way it is in 2024, because there are a lot of quality products out there, and make our personal selections based on testing and our own judgement and preferences.

    5:13 In Sennheiser MTW3 I can do a single tap to pause music+turn on transparency without any jingle. Technics cannot do that AFAIK, and this is for me a deal breaker, as I want to be able to talk to people at the gym quickly, without removing a bud.

    Your videos made me want to hate the Sennheiser 4s but thinking independently I still gave them a shot and after actually using them in the real world for a few weeks I love them most. I'm an athlete and a musician so I'm able to have a slightly different perspective I tried the technics and Sony buds but I like these best with the slight white noise being the only negative for me. But I'm an android user and I also rarely keep my buds in my ear when I'm not using them so that's not a big deal to me personally.

  • @ernanv24
    @ernanv24 7 месяцев назад +12

    I both have the earbuds and with personalized sound with MTW4 the AZ-80 is not even close MTW4 is by far the best quality sound when you have it personalized. and stop scaring people that they are selling their data when they use personalized sound in MTW4 because you are already selling your data to IG,FB and RUclips and other social media.. the only downside in Sennheiser since I've owned MTW 1,2 ,3 and now 4 is they will only last for 10 to 11 months you'd be lucky if they last more than a year. Idk if Sennheiser is doing it on purpose or it's program to break but the issue is left earbuds will always die and I'm not talking about dead battery it sound will start breaking up on the left earbuds then all of a sudden it's completely broken no sound or whatsoever it happened to all my MTW 1,2 and 3 and I'm using my earbuds heavily at work and gym so if your buying the Sennheiser make sure you buy that warranty because dealing with manufacturer warranty was terrible.

      I put comply foam tips on nearly all my buds. (Currently own 13 different sets) I have Momentum 3 not 4 (everyone including Senny say it's same sound profile) and AZ80. I would say the AZ80 are the better buds in every way, except possibly sound quality. TW3 sound improves with comply and after sound customisation. AZ80 are more balanced 'audiophile' sound. TW3 more bass heavy but very impressive and personally I would give TW3 the win on sound....just, but not in any other area. If sound is your main priority buy the older TW3 and save some money, better still is the Status Between 3 ANC which is MUCH better than TW3 or AZ80 for sound. Devialet Gemini and oppo Enco X2 also both better for sound than either of these buds imho.

    Have the EX2, AZ80, MTW4 and Ap Pro2. I bought the 4s against your advise simply because there's more info out now the has opposite views. Sound wise the EX2 is the best, loud, crisp and bassy, second for me is the MTW4. I don't have the MTW3s so I don't care how they compare because for me it's a fresh start and I just judge them on their own. I place the MT4s first for overall package, firstly that they fit the best of my group, and have much more features than the EX2s which have virtually zero ANC.
    This is my experience with these buds. Hopefully I don't have any qc issues with the MTW4s because otherwise I honestly think they're pretty amazing.
