It wasn’t that long ago that a certain mod project for Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite caught traction on the internet. With popular fighting game content creator Maximilian Dood lending his expertise and influence to the project, its goal is to revamp the game’s looks, rework and add to the gameplay, and even add new modes to make Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite into the game it arguably should have been all along. In fact, we got to hear more about the project and its goals from Dood himself in a full interview here. Check it out.

Max without glasses.... Max Kroeger
"Look at this mod"
😂😂
Looks like Nic Cage lmao
Andy Dick
It's crazy going back and listening to Max pre Collection announcement. Anyways great interview
Thank you. 🙏
Max is the hero MvC needs, he was there at its best and at its worse
I still loved MvCi but man it didn’t get the support it needed from Capcom/Marvel
Yeah! I just wish they continue MvCI with more additional dlc characters instead of discontinued it specially because its gameplay is balanced but greatly fun
lol what? He barely pays people to do the work he can’t even though he makes 6 figures a year and yet takes all the credit for using the same rehashed art style from mvc3. Grow up and stop simping
@@s13shakathey are not simping though. I mean who else do you think should do it? And he's not taking any credit mate.
@@thejetparadox nobody, leave old video games alone, go outside and make some friends. No credit? Lololol he literally spends 1-2 hours per stream now flexing all the work he’s doing on the project lolol
With how much Max champions the franchise - which I have been seeing since the MVC 3 days. He really needs to be part of the team for the next Marvel Vs Capcom title. Like he is ripe for potential
He's not a game designer. At best he'd do what he already does - play some exclussive early builds and give feedback.
He and Justin Wong, at best could be good consultants for the game. Max can give you that casual bordering pro perspective while Justin can give you insights from the pro scene
He can help with video and gameplay footage be a tester he’d be excellent with quality control help.
I'm pretty sure he doesn't want that pressure nor have the time. Just because he loves it with all his heart doesn't mean he needs to be on the dev team. The spot I can see Max on that he would love is making gameplay trailers for characters, like he did with KI and even UMVC3 way back in the day with Assist Me.
Max knows his stuff.
I can't wait for this mod. Get the game this summer sale, ya'll!
I keep thinking about it recently cause of the mod and mayce it's not out yet, can't bring myself to it. Also, guess since we're here, I see people saying Capcom added some malware to it and can't really find anywhere to confirm/debunk that.
@@CalciumChief That's the Enigma DRM, Capcom's proprietary DRM. There was a MASSIVE overreaction to it, and you can Google "Enigma DRM list" and possibly find a breakdown of which games have it. I'm not saying it's a good or bad thing, just keep in mind that people who post about and review games are usually a very small minority... and very reactionary.
With how high profile Max is, I really wonder how Capcom is looking at all this behind the scenes
With interest for sure. What the modders are adding is what people want in these games (UMVC3 & MVCI) but didn't get. This gives the devs a bit of an insight of what the fans want to see in the next game (art style, characters, modes like like a 4v4, etc.)
@@arjanzweers6542 not only that, this is all practically free publicity. Having UMVC3 and MvCi active while releasing the collection puts the entire franchise on the fgc spotlight.
Probably fuel for Capcom to pitch more MVC projects at Marvel, Max was generating buzz for MVC before the collection with MVCI Beyond.
Man even interviews talking about this mod. Impressive ❤💙
You know what else needs this touch-up? SFxT.
Thank god for Maximillian D00d
I love how Venom looks with that art style! 🤩 It looks like a mix of MvC3 & MvCi.
not me spotting johnny and garrett from mega64 in the background and getting completly distracted
Really hope we end up getting new characters (namely X-Men/FF characters) in this. He does say that he wants this to be the MvCI everyone wanted, and it's not something he outright shut down for what's coming in the future of the mod, so fingers crossed.
I figure after every character gets the beauty treatment and the gameplay gets touched up. Then they would show they're work for people to mod in characters like in mvc3 but that would be after a year or 2 of work
If the FGC were an actual Organization then Max would be our President.
This is why we love Max. He doesn't need to do this, any of this but he wants to. Because this is a passion, he loves Marvel Vs Capcom and he pushed for MVC2 to be brought back and it did happen. And now he's trying to give a second chance to MVCI so people can try it again under new light , the WHAT IF Marvel Infinite was really polished and cool. He's making it happen.
We love you Max. Shine on!
Love hearing him breakdown the work on MCVI&B. It's awesome hearing how detailed they strive to be.
As a complete casual I must say I enjoyed my time with MVCI. But honestly I never played tbe older games so I can't tell. All I know is that I really enjoyed playing the story mode and fool around with all the characters. Also, I bought it for dirty cheap on Steam ;p
Nice interview, I liked the response on the last question
Damn, I really really really hope this thing absolutely blows up. The fighting in MVCI is actually my favorite out of all the games in the series, just stunk every where else. Man I hope somehting can come from this.
Max needs to be an honorary added character to the roster.
A Max color should be mandatory for Hiryu in the next MvsC installment
TROUBLE SHOOTER MAX FOR MVC
Why did MvCI receive a lukewarm reception at launch?
Hmmm... I'm going to bet on a certain group of characters in the Marvel universe called Mutants.
max is such a cool guy man, i really hope i can shake his hand one day
is it worth getting MvCI on sale for this mods eventual release? Cause it honestly looks tempting.
100%. I just got myself a copy since the steam summer sale is active.
YES.
Yooo Johnny, Garrett and Kevin from Mega64 in the background
Mad cool!
Great interview!
I lOve this Game Its So good
great interview !
Max aged like Wine.
Homie knows how to talk.
Great video man
Appreciate it
Is that Garret from Mega 64 in the background? ❤
Max's middle name is MILES?
The thing that killed MvCI in my eyes is the DLC characters being $10 a piece. Keep in mind there was 6 DLC characters out. You essentually would have to pay for the game twice.
The game died because it decided to take us all to DLC hell.
Yo max if you need music I’m a music producer for a living I’d seriously love to get in on this thing 🤘
I think he mentioned it before that if anyone wants to help, they can reach out to him through dm, email, or something else.
Who is Max?
He seems like a cool dood
What MOD gave 50 characters to MVC3? Somebody please
It's called the Community Edition.
@danielcraig9666 thank you 😊 downloaded it instantly. Had to buy a steam version though but it was only 7 bucks money well spent.
Strider about to be overturned as hell…
Can't wait to see Sigma and Black Panther
MvC should be Maximillion vs Capcom
they made MVCI because infinity war. they must have rushed it out and i remember the budget was comparable to DLC budgets which is painfully low. games LOOKED horrible but the gameplay was solid... jedah and Captain Marvel were my mains and they were so good... had they just copy pasted xmen and more street fighter characters, it would have sold like hotcakes guaranteed! except disney was being pissy...
pre mvc2 max is the equivalent of B.C and A.C in history
well, i know Max's full name now lol
i know this s exy man
Its a sad day when you have half a dozen modern fighting games that look more like Capcom fighters then actual Capcom fighters. We need an ArcSys style MVC game already. I understand that sprites are dying out but the faux 2d style of those games is the absolute way to go. Capcom doesn't seem to know if they want to go for a realistic NRS visual style or not, so we end up getting these nightmarish shiny, oily character models. I'm shocked that Street Fighter 6 is being received as well as it is, I personally think the characters look horrifying in that.
please fix the shitty character select screen and the model faces
Zzzz boring cell shaded art style that went out of style over a decade+ ago all for a person barely paying people to do the work yet clearing 6 figures a year himself ez
This is a terrible, absolutely dogshit take and fuck this channel for actually liking it.
The only way to save it, is if sweet baby Inc jumps in you pay them 7 million and everyone is a a certain color and rainbow. The Disney/marvel way
Cool theory gramps, did ya forget to take your meds again?
Seriously 2:48 Max is so out of touch with that SFV statement. To say that people were upset with SFV the same way with MvCi is not true. SFV was a better game in comparison to MvCi and to be fair it was mainly the casual single player people who were mainly disappointed. The seasons that came after had alot of great dlc characters and at the end of its life SFV became an even more complete and better game than MvCi ever could.
Think it was in reference to the state SFV launched in, until really untill season 3 which came out after MVCI did SV5 get redemption, people will had already dropped SFV or still felt shitty with Capcom after that terrible launch.
The key word in the statement is "saw". SFV *got* the support it needed, but at the beginning it was hated like MvCI was.
For SFV, single player wasn't just lacking, it wasn't there, showing up 6 months after its February 2016 release. I still specifically remember that online was unstable (its attempt at Rollback failed, where MvCI's online was properly done), and I also remember uninstalling the game because they put in a RootKit during a PC update to "prevent cheating". It started LOW, but it's Street Fighter. it's Capcom's fighting game darling, and the VS gameplay mechanics was good. It needed to survive, deserved to, and did after a LOT of care building it back up.
MvCI released September 2017, and got its last update in January 2018. 4 months. It started low, and stayed low in spite of it *actually* having fun mechanics and good online gameplay via Properly-done Rollback. Art style was lacking, the single-player mode was iffy (but it was *there*), and the roster lacked long-standing characters that it would never have the chance to get. It released at a bad time, in a bad state, and would never have the time to get fixed.
The comparison was made apples-to-apples. 4 months post-release, both SFV and MvCI were not liked by the masses. Capcom got SFV past it. They didn't do the same for MvCI.
Were you there when the game first launched?
Saying Max is out of touch when he was literally there for the release of SFV is wild. Besides he’s referring to the initial release of SFV and how it was basically an incomplete game. He’s gone record before to say SFV is great game now but it’s initial release was ASS.
lol u did not understand him at all, delete your comment
