It's a shame Album of the Year was a bit of a flop and FNM doubted themselves and split up. Surprise, surprise the critics were wrong and a few changed their view on the album after the band split up.
Faith No more is one of the greatest bands around. Recently seen Mike Patton and his band Mr Bungle and his friends The Melvins early this year in Australia,Mr Bungle usally does alternative rock /experimental rock but this tour was going back to his original idea,A thrash metal band, with Scott Ian from anthrax and Dave Lombardo ex Slayer drummer ,The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny album tour, full thrash metal.
Yeah he's always collaborating with people and floods out a variety of music. Mike Patton & Serj Tankian - 'Bird's Eye' is an incredible song you'll love.
Mike Patton is a stone cold true genius I would listen to that man fart into a mic. As for the band as a whole, FNM are a genre unto themselves. As their career went on the music they made became more intricate, intelligent and more powerful. Every single member is incredible.
They already had the name when Patton became their 2nd singer. Chuck Mosley was the original singer before being kicked out for drinking and fighting. They had a hit with Chuck called We Care A Lot...pretty good song
Ipecac Records is Patton's label, shoot your shot! =) Check out "!Get up Punk!" by General Patton vs. The X-ecutioners also, a nice track from a whole collab album they did together.
Early Clutch and FNM in one week. That was my go to in the 90's. Two highly underappreciated bands. As huge as FNM got overseas, they never truly blew up in the States. I saw them at The Masquerade not long before they sold the building.
There are so many other masterpieces from FNM. King for a day, Ashes to ashes, Take this bottle, Evidence, Crack hitler, Separation anxiety, Motherfucker etc... But you haven't listened to their heavy stuff yet: Jizzlobber, Ugly in the morning, Cuckoo for caca. And if you want to get your mind blown by Mike's voice, I recommend 2 covers: I started a joke, This guy's in love with you or She loves me not.
I'm into k-pop and idol groups now, but I still listen to Faith No More a lot. I would sneak a song or two in our listening parties just to troll my stationhead listeners 😉
Love that you did this! From their appropriately titled album "Album Of The Year" which I loved at the time as a follow up to Angel Dust a critic's favorite for its risk taking. Guess they didn't care for the risks on this one as I recall. It's still either this or Angel Dust being my favorite album from the group.... actually no, it's a 3-way tie with their most recent from 2015, Sol Invictus. In short, just keep reaching to Faith No More and Mr. Bungle. Thank you! Out!
Those space/sci-fi esc synths strangely remind me of Starduster, a classic Vocaloid song (for those unaware, Vocaloid is a "Genre" that utilizes the Vocaloid Software to produce vocals for those that for whatever reason have no vocalist. Not AI. Not a replacement, it's a substitute. Lots of crazy artists/music in the Vocaloid community. Lots of experimentation but still very accessible. wowaka is a good gateway. RIP.)
Ugly in the Morning is a heavy eclectic song you gotta hear ! But I could go on for days requesting FNM tracks because they are all so different and awesome yet still have the FNM stamp on it like only they can do .
It was a pity that Faith No More disbanded after releasing one of their best albums in 1997 titled 'Album of the year'... Jon Hudson (guitar) had joined and fit perfectly w/ Mike Patton (vocals), Billy Gould (bass), Roddy Bottum (keyboards) and Mike 'Puffy' Bordin (drums)... However, the band was disillusioned by the response to 'Album of the year' and the music industry... They opted to call it a day in 1998. Thankfully, Faith No More did reunite in 2009 to tour and finally released a worthy new album 'Sol invictus' in 2015.
Sadly covid killed them yet again and it looks like there is no reconciliation at this point, too many differences of politics and personal views....plus it doenst help Patton has a million different things always going on
Patton was and still is maybe the top beat boxer alive.. go listen to some of his beat box.. and a live performance he did where he did gaga pokerface with beatboxing and leads into one of their hits.. its amazing
You can't go wrong with FNM. Everything about this song is incredible. What you heard is Mike Patton who is the man of a thousand voices. He has the most incredible voice range
Digging a Grave , Collision , Take This Bottle or more fire tracks for ya ! And watch the video for Stripsearch it is worth it I promise ! OH ! and Evidence is another . Damn I gotta stop or ill be here forever lol
Alright. I love Mike Patton more than most, but it's time for y'all to dive into pre-Patton FNM. Check out "We Care a Lot" and "Introduce Yourself". FNM started in the late 70's technically. Chuck Mosely (RIP) was singing for them on their way up.
As to Mike Patton and the name Faith No More - he's not the original vocalist, so he had absolutely nothing to do with naming the band. Digging the Grave, The Gentle Art of Making Enemies, Everything's Ruined, Last Cup of Sorrow, Helpless - all still with Patton leading the band. I do love the Chuck Mosley era, but it's kind of a different band. Especially with how important vocals are to me in a band....
Before you "rework" this song or "start the jam" with M.Patton,😉🤣🙃😁 I strongly suggest you watch the official video. 😀It's more explanatory in the terms of the meaning of the lyrics... But not just because of that... Ah... you see, there's always this "live performance" factor vs. the actual studio sound. Yeah, Patton is a great singer live as well, no doubt about it, all I'm saying is that sometimes live vocal deliveries can sound pretty hursh and crispy, and believe it or not - that's the case with Mike Patton in the live version of this song... So, if this impressed you, just wait to hear the studio version! (if you haven't heard it already)😉Now, that's the real sonic experience! 😃The tinny voice of M.P. that you hear at the beginning of the song is actually a light-motive that repeats throughout the whole song, even during the guitar solo, yes, and it creates a charmingly beautiful and magical game all together with his main voice, it's unbelievable - like a man and a woman singing simultaneously! To be frank, that high, "female" voice he utilises actually reminds me of that girl Sade and her lovely, timeless voice and I guess he stole it from her, since he loves her as well!😀Great reaction whatsoever! 😊Try next with "Everything's Ruined" or "Kindergarden" - both of which are similar blend of funk, rap, metal/grunge and soul/pop, both from "Angel Dust". Greetings from FNM lover. Deuces! 🙂
Mike Patton is one of my favorite artists, but don't attribute it all to him because he always surrounds himself with amazing musicians and he is usually not the one making the sole creative decisions (and in many projects he is a hired gun brought in by other artists).
Just a geography bit, Idaho is northwest of Colorado, not east. Otherwise, awesome job. May I suggest a couple songs for your next FNM reaction : The Morning After, Naked in Front of the Computer or by Mr . Bungle- Carosel, The Girls of Porn
Stripsearch is one of their most amazing songs.....I really loved the video back in the day!!!

I love when bands wear suits! I think they look handsome. The ‘hitmen’ thing never occurred to me 😆
‘Ashes to Ashes’ and ‘Last Cup of Sorrow’ btw
I love when you guys react to Faith No More. Fuck yeah
thx. Thomas ;-)
I love EVERYTHING about this song!
Faith No More is always great, but I can’t wait for ya’ll to check out his bands Tomahawk and Fantomas.
Live version of God Hates a Coward by Tomahawk....GO!
Yeah he's always collaborating with people and floods out a variety of music.
Mike Patton & Serj Tankian - 'Bird's Eye' is an incredible song you'll love.
More Faith No More…, please.
Give Lovage a listen. The album "Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By'. The track 'Sex, I'm A' in particular. Patton kills it.
First The Count of Tuscany and now FNM . What a day!!!
❤❤❤

Actually Courtney Love also was their singer, before Chuck maybe
Courtney love did like one show and never recorded with them so she wasn’t really their lead singer at all brah
@@mattjohn4731 I'm pretty sure he means on records. They had several singers before Chuck Mosley but only him and Patton on any album
This is greatness 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Perfect recommendation. I totally endorse this for the guys. Both ends of his dramatic spectrum!
Ta, I’ll check them out
You two gentlemen are what is great about the internet!
Glad you came back to FNM and Mike Patton! If you want to see another side, try Pristina or their cover of This Guys In Love With You.
Finally Faith no more!

Helll yeahhhhh! You two make my freaking day so often! Especially when you break out the FNM and the ONE & ONLY MR. MIKE PATTON! Hell yeah!!!!
A famous show, very nice where Sepultura, Suicidal Tendencies and few played there.
