ps: you dont have to use alot of hair particles, go to render, and click interpolated and adjust settings and you can use less particles for grass

Method which is shown in the video quadruples render time, what is the most effective way to render it?

add just a few strands of grass and then go to children-> interpolated and it multiplies the strands without the computer exploding :)

Is there a way to taper the grass in Cycles? I have the root at 4.8m and the tip at 0m for a large scene, but it renders as a strip the same width from root to square tip.
