OMG, thank you, thank you. My doctor put me on this shot to replace other diabetic meds. I didn't think anything about it. Week 1 and 2 I felt like my stomach was shredded and the idea of food made me nauseous so i barely ate anything for the first 3 days after a shot. On my 3rd dose, I had exactly what you described for a full 3 days straight. I finally did some research and found you. You saved my sanity and made me start thinking of this as a weight loss drug rather than a diabetes one. It took me all week to recover. I talked to my doctor, and he said to try one more week with some changes to my diet. I am happy🎉to report that week 4 I have no side effects. Thank you for putting this out there, I would never have taken another shot if it weren't for your honest and positive videos. Keep them coming.

Thank you for being transparent, it’s necessary. The doctors should share more about side effects. I had to invest in sleeping on depends in fear I couldn’t make it to the bathroom in time. I think support groups are necessary while on these injections for the first time.

Ive been on Mounjaro for four months now. i've lost 42lbs and feel great. My appetite is way less and when I eat I get full quickly. I started on 2.5 and moved on to 5. I have had none of the the side affects that people complain about. I'm on blood pressure meds, metformine etc without any issues. My a1c is regularly 5.9 to 6.0, I no longer take Humalog and very low amount of Lantus. Mounjaro has changed my life. the flip side is that being obese has many many disastrous consequences.

Thank you for sharing your story. I stopped eating red meat 1 years prior to knowing Mounjaro existed. I think that helped minimize my side effects. However, I have noticed different side effects per injection site. Stomach makes me constipated. Thigh gives me loose stools. Arm gives me migraines and a slight pain in my glutes. All of this was with 2.5 and subsided after 4 weeks.

Very informative video. I am beginning week 9 tmrw on Mounjaro. I have experienced violent vomiting on 4 occasions. Like you, I quickly realized meat was going to be problematic especially ground hamburger. I too related the small amount of food intake and digestive issues to the stories from gastric bypass patients. I am keeping heavier meals, if you can call them that, strictly for lunch and keeping it light for dinner which most of the time consists of a protein shake. I absolutely agree chewing your food many times seems to help. I have lost 11 lbs so far, but more than anything it’s helped with my daily sugar readings which have dropped from over 300 to 150 as of this morning. Good luck to you on this journey. I will definitely be tuning back in for more advice.

I have been on mounjaro for a year. I have lost almost 90 lbs. the only reaction I have ever had is slight itching on the injection site. It’s been great for my weight loss, also my A1c has gone from 7.9 to 6.5. Also the highest dose I have been on is 7.5. I love it.

Wow! I’m so sorry you had to go through that. Thank you so much for sharing because it prepares the rest of us for the possibilities. I’m on week two, so far so good in terms of feeling fine. Two nights in a row I had one of the lean cuisine protein meatloaf, mashed and gravy, red meat, which I actually rarely red meat, but I do like some of those easy meals. I eat salmon quite often and I’ve had that once or twice since starting the medication with no problems. I’m wondering if I’m gonna have problems down the road as I adjust the medication upwards because obviously right now I’m on 2.5 still. The first week I had almost a week of appetite suppression and now in the second week nothing- no signs of appetite suppression or thankfully any side effects.

I am on Zepbound and I lost 30 pounds since the 2nd week in January and it is the 2nd week of March from today. It works! :D I do caution if you have issues with taking iron, please do not take it the day you take a shot. I had nausea and vomiting and abdominal cramping. It took 3 days to subside. And do not eat any greasy or rich foods, it will upset your stomach. Taking this medication you do feel mild nausea and could be confused from the feeling of filling full.

So sorry you went through that! FYI I had that happen in the beginning as well. I am on week 61 and I can tell you that it gets better, but each dose increases the GI issues. However, I am now full carnivore to deal with other health issues and still on Mounjaro and I have never felt better. So the red meat issue definitely gets better!

I’m in Mounjaro 7.5 for weight loss. So far I’ve lost about thirty pounds. However week three of the 7.5, I got very sick to the point where I really didn’t want to eat anything. Vomiting, diarrhea; poop is watery, nausea, abdominal cramps, dehydration. I had to go to the ER. The ER doc suggested that I stop taking it until I speak with the prescribing doc of the Mounjaro. I will be seeking for a lower dose and/or to take it every other week. I don’t eat meat, except for fish by the way.

You cannot overeat on this medicine because your digestive system and stomach emptying is slowed down so it will sit there if you overeat. So the body will get rid of it one way or another. This means the medicine is working since it should cause a change in behavior. People with bariatric surgery also have this. Dumping and food sitting in the stomach

Hey sweetie, I dont take the shots. But something you said about feeling like passing out. If this is a common issue. It could also be caused by the Vegas nerve. When throwing up, it irritates this nerve, causing this feeling.
If you can take an ice pack and put it on your neck or center of your chest, it will help.
    I have this problem.
Smart to preprep the bathroom. I am prepared if i get sick from a stomach virus.
I'm not sure if you are taking this shot for just weight loss, but I've been cutting carbs and fast food, and the weight is coming off.
Very low carbs also stop my hunger and cravings.
Also, be careful passing out. If you feel it coming on, you need to get on the floor immediately. You can hit your head. Also, if you are not on your side when you pass out and you start throwing up, you can choak to death.
Please be careful being this sick loosing weight. It sound like your body is rejecting it. You can also watch Dr Ken Berry on youtube . He talks about low carbs and weight loss.
I just got diagnosed with pre-diabetes. My dr said low carbs and 20 min a day exercise. I need to loose a good 60 pounds.
Again, good luck honey !! ❤

Ive been on Mounjaro almost 15 mos never been sick from red meat. I dont have it often but the times Ive had its been fine. Never have thrown up not once. I dont count how many times I chew and eat pretty quickly. I also did 2.5 one month and 5mg 3 months so I had a while to work up to 7.5. Not sure what dose you are on but some seem to titrate too quickly. I just finished 5 boxes of 12.5mg and 2 days ago started 15. Ive seen people on this med 6 months already on 15. I say take it slow folks, its not a race. I lost a lot of hair and I def did not eat between 600-800 calories. Hair loss happens with any significant amount of weight loss. It will grow back, just def not fun while you lose it and waiting for it to grow back 🙁😥

      @shewygirl 10 месяцев назад +1

@@shoeplugtony7018 100lbs in 10 mos… by 13 months I was down 120lbs… then it stopped completely. No weight loss for 2 months straight going up and down the same 3lbs and I was doing all the right things trust. I know the body needs to adjust so I just kept on truckin and the scale started moving again. Since January I have lost another 15lbs … so 135lbs total. I have 40 more I’d like to lose before skin removal surgeries. The weight loss definitely slows down. The food noise comes back, not the same as before the med but its not like when you first start so lifestyle change is very important, but its something Ive been doing for years, the med gave me the help I needed with my hormones as I have pcos, hypothyroidism, insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. You didnt ask all that lol, but just thought Id give details.
This journey is different for everyone. As someone with lifelong chronic obesity it was the tool I needed to help me finish my journey as I lost and gained the same 50lbs for 8 years. I didnt gain weight after covid or after kids in my 30’s … obesity has been a struggle for me since I was a teen and yo yo dieting definitely messes up your metabolism so very grateful for this tool.

I took my third shot Friday and by Saturday I was so sick and my stomach was so distended I looked like one of those poor little babies in the Third World countries that their stomach is distended. It hurt to touch it. It hurt to lay down. It hurt to set up. My daughter-in-law gave me some extra strength, Gas-X, and after three doses, I am starting to feel better but my stomach is still sore and it hurts and the gas the belching and the farting are so bad and the pain to touch my stomach Saturday night I threw up I had diarrhea all of that stuff and I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. I was also just diagnosed with diabetes type two and I am on met Forman a couple other medication’s that they started me on I don’t know if I’m abnormal or what but I’m freaking out just a little bit.

Thank you! Stick with it, some don’t see a loss till much later and that’s normal❤️

I am on 12.5 mg and tolerate it. I do have zofran which helps. I have been on Monjaro since September 2022. Lost 88 pounds. I had nausea at first and sometimes now for a few days after my shot. When I get takeout I make at least 2 meals from it. I learned to stay away from foods that make me feel sick. I eat beef but not a lot of it. Good luck everyone. I am lucky that I tolerate the 12.5 dose. I never had vomiting .

Wow! I've never ever experienced this! Im on month 3 at 7.5mg. What dose are you on? Also have your doctor prescribe zofran for nausea.

2.5, I don’t take zofran because I don’t get nauseous. This was like full blown sick!

Some of us just are going to have the side effects. I still do and I’ve been on it 10 months, not as often, but still do. Worth it tho!

Week three for me. No side effects. No weight loss. Nothing. Obsessing how I'm failing at this, too.

Sounds like you may have been suffereing from a GI bug, not neccesarily a side effect of the meds. I expereinced this week 2 and it was definately a bug and not the meds.

    My insurance doesn't cover Mounjaro.

On Mounjaro for 5 months. I can eat red meat just fine. But too much food makes me sick. Doesn’t matter what. Amount that is too much is objectively very little. Even one or two bites too much. I’m guessing you just ate too much.

This is definitely a per person thing because I eat red meat daily and have not had any side effects and haven’t deben sick. Sorry that happened to you but want others to know that what you’re describing isn’t for everybody so they aren’t afraid of eating red meat. It’s per person.

I liked listening to your story but I find the dogs very distracting.
