This is a really good video. No one should think they are the GLP gods and be able to tell other people what to do. There are so many people this has been a god send.

Great video on an important topic. It is critical that we all take care of our mental health. I too have left groups that weren’t working for me for a variety of reasons-too much negativity, judgement, character or food plan bashing and even too much selling. I take this journey very seriously and can tend to get caught up in social media swirl. I have to remember I’m here to learn, share, celebrate, comfort, smile and even sometimes cry. But when I’m getting pulled in a direction that doesn’t feel right-it’s time to go. FFF, I’m never leaving you :-)

Hi Ali, This was a very valuable evaluation of the 'other' noises that we need to be aware. Whether it is an online support group, or friend group or family - negative commiserating can be a toxic tonic, and difficult to identify. It is good advice to keep and maintain relationships, including support groups that don't invalidate our own journeys or anyone else's. And sometimes it is necessary to leave! Thank you for always bringing Ali's brand of charm, humor, honesty, GLP-1 validating , and keeping it real !

Having Lyme disease for Years I was in Lyme support groups. I realized that I was sinking down! Yes it is HELL, but I have a Survival instinct so strong. The day I left The group, I never Identified my self As I have Lyme disease…. It Was amazing how leaving the negativity I soared in my healing!!!!’ Ali you are Sooooo right!! It's normal to want to vent and have your concerns acknowledged, BUT it is easy to get depressed when reading a constant stream of negativity. Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia decades ago when few had heard of it, I initially found it incredibly helpful to spend time in a support group with people who didn't think I was faking illness or constantly say, "But you don't look sick!" After a few meetings, however, the sad stories became overwhelming. I wanted to support others, but was seeking practical coping techniques to live as full a life as possible within the constraints of my illness and, like you, the negativity was bringing me down. I have been too nervous about nausea to try a GLP-1 drug yet, but hope to take the plunge soon. I appreciate how frank and honest you are in your videos. Congratulations on a new year where weight doesn't weigh on you! That sounded kinda odd, didn't it? 😊

Hi Ali. I am an LPC and have observed children and adults who get very upset just being around negativity. These are highly sensitive people who have the gift of discernment. Sounds like you may be one of those sensitive people. I am one of those people, too. We can pick up other people’s vibes, both positive and negative, and it is very important that we screen what we see and hear. It’s not always possible to do that, but we do have control over what we participate in on social media. Thank you for keeping this channel and your FB group informative in a positive manner! ❤

Some of us don't realize how someone will take a negative comment about a certain food even though we did NOT mean it to hurt someone's own opinion. It's like watching a movie with lots of swear words. If you watch a lot of those movies, you find your language starts becoming like that, so I can't watch them, sorry. Thank you for making me more mindful to be more careful, online or in person. If you are with those negative people in person frequently, you need to get out of that relationship.

Hey Ali! I don’t know if you know who Bailey Sarian is but she does Murder,Mystery and Make-up on Mondays and Dark History podcast. On her Dark History podcast she covered the beginnings of glp1 medications and how they came to be. In the comment section, I posted that I have been on a glp1 for 8 months and have lost 54lbs. I said that my A1C was 5 and my blood pressure was perfect. There were so many negative comments to me that I had to just ignore them. People were making fun of me for taking the medication and some were angry with me for being positive about my journey. It’s crazy that people will make assumptions about a medication that a doctor prescribes, that really does make you healthier and overall improves your life and lifespan. It’s freaking ridiculous! Negativity isn’t going to help anyone! I would never join a help group that full of negativity!

Ali, I have to tell you, I have zero side effects, but also very little benefit from Trizepitide. I’ve been taking it for 5 months and sometimes I feel like it’s only sheer willpower (and the fact that I’ve purchased a large supply) that keeps me losing any weight at all! I’d take a few side effects if it meant it would make this journey better…

The only time I feel depression, uncontrollable anxiety & depression is when I have to go to the pharmacy for my GLP1 meds! 😂🤣 I laugh but it’s true. They make me crazy when I have to wait 4 or 5 days worrying I won’t get it “this time” and hunger with sugar craving will be back. You help me so much with your sense of humor and pups so thank you!

Random question. I delayed my shot by 3 days because of travel. Shall I have my next shot on my usual day so 4 days after my dealyed shot or change my shot day so have it 7 days after.

Support groups can be a great aid in answering questions based on experience. But it really comes down to what works for you. When I raised the issue of sulphur burps and diarrhea; there was so many suggestions on taking Pepto and Immodine. The best advice for me was monitor what I ate before the side effects started. The best group that works, is one that let you listen, just listen.

What is your palate cleanser after Criminal Minds? I use Futurama if I've been watching too much dark TV 😂. Sometimes your videos make me want Facebook so I can join your group, but then something like this comes up and I'm like I'm good!

Great video! Thank you. My doctor actually talked to me about this experience of panic attacks and potentially depression on this medication when I first started my journey, which was very helpful and I did experience panic attacks, especially before going to bed that get me up at night that I talk to her a lot about. My solution, and this is not everyone’s was to take a melatonin before bed and in the last few months, I incorporated a 10 minute meditation before bed and that has greatly helped me. My side effects in 1.5 years have been minimal except for this, but again after a conversation with my doctor and the benefits that outweigh so much of the risk for me as a diabetic I have kept going. I have been in maintenance for one year now on 5mg.

I’m so over the interwebs and so many people thinking that their experience must be the experience of everyone. And being adamant that they’re right. Thank you for your video, Ali!

I have been a member of Mochi for 7 months. They’ve been nothing but awesome. My experience with customer service was always top tier and swift. You can call customer service or go through the portal 24/7. I’ve always gotten what I asked for and they even got my PA approved when my doc couldn’t so I’ve been on branded since August thanks to them.
