Origami Box Head Tutorial

  • A Tutorial for one of my favorite recent designs. The box head was taught at the East Bay Origami Convention and quickly became a hit. This tutorial not only provides instruction on this design, but shows the head mechanic similar to my most popular design, Head Empty. Folding this model first will help to fold that one.

    Once you hit 20K, you should do a tutorial for the harder models, like the STS or something.

      I don't think I will do STS, but I plan on trying to do one or two super hard tutorials a year

    I went home from Eboc with a completed model and crease pattern, but was stuck trying to collapse it. This tutorial truly filled in the gaps for my empty box head. Thanks, Boice!

    • @OrigamiByBoice

      This type of origami is not meant for beginners. I would start from other channels like tadashi mori or Jo nakashima and then come back once you are intermediate

      @reversesmurf3270 Месяц назад

      @@OrigamiByBoice I did that type of origami for like 6 years before moving on to other hobbies, I've recently picked it up again but I want to learn this style. It reminds me of Jeremy Shafer's flashers and some of the Jo's complex dragons, I like the shaping part, reminds me of clay sculptures.

    • @OrigamiByBoice
      @OrigamiByBoice  Месяц назад

      Flashers are a good benchmark at being able to collapse these structures.
      In this case, try my simple human tutorial and get comfortable shaping with glue. After that you’ll be able to shape with MC and get better at wet folding/shaping
