- HKS is a well known brand and they just recently released their coilovers for the #GRCorolla.
A friend of mine bought said coilovers, called me and I grabbed the camera... because content over everything!
Actually, it was also to see how much work this will take me once I put on the coilovers I choose, but it wasn't a terrible experience.
Sit back and watch us install some of Japan's finest hardware and stay tuned for the test drive video coming soon!

I like how RUclips took this video and decided to toss my beautiful audio out of sync... 😑 Apologies for anyone who notices that, but we are here now, just don't look at my lips too closely.
finally got around to watching this one as i'm about to do the lifted springs. fun times!! the orientation is an interesting one but i'm considering these in the future after hearing they're digressive as well. after not being in the game never imagined a 'streetable' coilover like this. i'm sold on the tech.
From the time I drove the car, especially near Houston Downtown the roads were absolutely and it drove incredible.
Exact coilovers I was looking at for my Core - glad to see an install video!
If yo go for these coilovers you will love it! I have a test/drive video coming up soon too!
U kinda look like jidion if he had a beard lol
Saving these videos for my future GR🤭
The rear lower shock mount bolt/peg is double threaded. Remove bolt first and then loosen peg.
Where were you on this day!? LOL Yep after struggling on one side we figured this out too.
good one
Thanks! Appreciate you watching!
Curious about maxing out the height and getting tires with more sidewall 🤔
So the coil overs from the factory are already set and they are actually a very conservative drop from factory. I mean something like .5 inches all around. So raising it is possible or keeping it as HKS set and running it that way.
Where are the damping adjusters?
The math seems off. Wouldn't 25.25 equal 19.49 instead of 24 front, 40.77 instead of 44?
@MichaelSexton-w8n you're not wrong - the calculations were actually for a 25.45" ride height but were incorrectly written as 25.25". For the front the adjustment is 1:1 - HKS Default is 658mm (25.9") - 11.6mm = 646.4mm (25.448"). For the rear there is a 1:1.4 adjustment ratio that is applied which is why the calculation is different - HKS Default is 666mm (26.2") - 19.6mm (14 * 1.4) = 646.4mm (25.448") . Despite writing the target wrong on the paper - after the suspension has settled the car currently sits at 25.25" on all four corners. 🤣
Wait...how do you do that voice trick?
These are the same parts I was looking at getting eventually. Also, your friend has the circuit right? Did he put any ppf on the roof or CC? I wasn’t sure if it is needed as the manual suggests not to.
I just put a high quality carnauba on mine. But it doesn’t sit outside much. I know it can be degraded from excessive UV exposure.
@@Lowbrass64 mine will sit in a garage when at home and in the sun while at work so it’s not in direct sunlight all day. Maybe a CC would be fine for now?
Dude if you have a carbon roof get ppf for that at the very least. But from following his build I can tell you he’s got a lot of it wrapped
@@KoalaOalaJones I wanted to ppf the roof eventually but the owners manual says not to so I was just curious.
@jordan3305 @@KoalaOalaJonesyee roof is matte stek PPF'd 👍
my brz is about 3 inches off the ground good luck beating me in autocross extreme low is not a bad thing you want he car as low as possible before bottoming out on a race day for the absolute best center of gravity. and they are kw v2s aka NOT cheap and have been on for about 6 years.
Is there any weight reduction over the stock ones?
Slightly, not a huge amount but overall the unsprung weight is reduced.
Whats the difference in ride quality?
Massive. And I'm not just hyping that up, especially if you are coming from a stock GRC. I have a ride/test video coming up soon, but the ride quality is night and day to a stock GRC. Feels fantastic.
Actually this looks a bit daunting… a front sway bar install video more my speed lol
NAH! You got this! LOL!
audio sync
FACTS! I see RUclips decided my fie wasn't worthy of syncing... we live to fight another day. Lol!
Next video, please blow your nose ahead of time! 🤢🤣
LOL!! At this point the 95 degree heat and 100% humidity descended upon us!
Don’t tempt me!!!
Its too late hahaha
