Yeah, we ran into that clamp issue back when we installed their FMIC. We purchased industrial grade clamps from a local company in Houston.

I differ on that opinon that the engines have been having problems. I've followed Lamspeed Racing who has developed these engines for years. They even mentioned that this has been taken well out of context, even after the supposed epidemic happening in Italy with GR Yaris, which has yet to be identified with factual. But as you said, I do agree that if the stress of the unknown is too much to bear, buy a different car.

A new inline-6 turbo from Toyota would be lovely, but I think they are also trying to build something they can stick in various chassis. An inline-6 leaves them with only a few options for the type of car that can accept such a large engine.

@@CarQuicks I agree. Also toyota has fallen into the same hole as other manufacturers. Keep creating "new and improved " , instead of staying with old reliable products.

Look into all the heavy duty clamps, we used a few Constant Tension clamps and the Ideal Tridon clamps. The Ideal Tridon clamp is specifically made for high vibration, off road equipment and heavy machinery. @@CarQuicks I called Charles at SXTH in July he overnighted me free of charge constant tension clamps made by McMaster Carr heavy duty like you said they have a spring and have nylon bolt. Apparently these clamps are 15.00 each. With 8 clamps I was happy SXTH stepped up and took care of me. I hope the new clamps they provide are these for customers going forward. These new clamps are awesome no issues whatsoever with new clamps.

I don't know the number off hand, but have read through forums a few people running just this, with intakes and downpipes netting very good gains. To fully realize the benefit here, you will want to run the SXTH intercooler.

This is correct, most charge pipes retain the factory sizing, but benefit from less restrictive tubing and better airflow. The SXTH charge pipes are 2.25 inch in diameter, that matches the intercooler. As for the benefit, even though the turbo inlet is stock (which in our case we run the SXTH Turbo Inlet), you would still benefit greatly from the better airflow to the intake and turbo from the charge pipes not being so restrictive.

This should realistically take about 2-3 hours and thats just pacing yourself properly. You could move faster and probably get it to under 2 hours, but removing the cowl, if you haven't does involve removing the wipers and motor. Its all very simple bolts and a few plugs, but for the first time you will want to take your time so you see how it comes apart and will go back together. Standard hand tools is all you need. The good thing about this car is nothing is torqued down crazy, I've used hand tools fro items like a rear pitch/motor mount.

Well first I'm glad your friend is ok, because in my video I made it a point to reiterate that... One these corporations WILL try to finesse out of anything they can. And Two most importantly no one was hurt in these incidents. The perspective or stance I take as a whole is using numbers to let owners understand where there is risk and where there is unnecessary worry.

Its about enjoying the experience of changing the parts and feeling how the car responds, so far this has been a great addition!

You should check my podcast. I ran a few episodes talking at length about car manufacturers sharing data. I work in the tech field as well. I stand behind that statement that car OEMs are the most unregulated entities for data mining, without any security protocols.

Yes, it definitely makes more noise than the OEM setup, you can hear a few clips I ran on the video. Compared to the V1 setup (the loudest) it is quieter.

You don't need to get a tune. I haven't for any parts I've installed. now a tune will improve upon the modification, but its not necessary to run and benefit from additional performance.

Hey, thats a good point you mentioned, that I wasn't able to about the water pooling on the shroud. From what I understand the design is suppose to allow drainage, but that also could be from how the car sits when its rains to. I wouldn't want to drill any holes into it, but it very well can be a situation that all Circuit hood owners will have or any aftermarket vented hood. Overall I feel the same way you do, its a very good daily driving intake, though I still miss those V1 sounds haha

They did confirm 3rd parties had touched them or modified something, so the story won't ever be completely clear.

If I am thinking the same, thats the process I have seen where they dip parts in a water solution, with the some design/overlay floating on top? If so, i've see some really cool parts made from that process.

A few friends of mine have a Circuit, I opted out due to wanting to modify certain things and just document the process. But the main part, that being the engine and drivetrain, once we learned they were shared across trims, it was an easy decision to go Core.
