Yeehaw. Not a v8 guy myself but I find it funny how Chevrolet sort of did the same thing with the Camaro. These manufacturers announce that something will be discontinued, people go crazy and they bring it back😆
I can see why GM would want to make everything in house as far as hardware and Software and making things seamless. However, like you said, it took years to create and perfect a UI that now everyone expects as a standard feature.... Android Auto and Apple Car play is the new Bluetooth, and I shouldn't have to pay extra for a standard feature. When I'm driving carplay actually keeps me off my phone because it has the essentials right there when I'm driving. The car UIs always seem to be cumbersome and clunky Let the software companies do their thing and you the manufacturer focus on the hardware (the car lol). And it's integrated with my device so I know there's a level of security of driver data vs the car company having it (I heard there's issues with new cars "spying on you" ) The only thing what would be more excepted is making the car/brand more optimized for the software of choice. Like integration of super cruze into apple car play to be more seamless or your ev having your charging options calculated into car play. Tesla has the best UI outside of carplay and it's still has it's issues tho.
Nothing wrong with jaguars until they go to America, where their mechanics have neither the knowhow or sophistication to look after them.
That and not enough effort was put into the brand here to have buyers where the market for technicians would grow.
I don’t think this car is going to sell very well. No manual and hybrid power. This is what they used to call a “secretary’s car”.
I believe times have changed, especially when they offer a Civic Type-R, because that is where you'd go for performance. Considering the Civis Si sells for them with the same power, this still runs a turbo motor with a hybrid system, I think this will be a good fit for a lot of people.
@@CarQuicks we shall see. If they didn’t think people would buy the Civic coupe, why build this? Honestly, as a former Prelude owner and car enthusiast, I have zero interest in this thing.
@@frankybeans1872 I think it comes from giving the variety to a market that is asking for something reasonable, looks good, has sporty parts and isn't priced to the likes of a Civic Type-R. Most Prelude owners, the ones I've known who built amazing examples were outliers in the world of Honda sport compact cars. - Also, while this is not a direct competitor to the likes of Toyota and the GR86 I would say that they have watched that success and see a lane where this could work. - It ultimately could fail, but having more sport compact options that succeed only opens up the doors for the possibility of more performance-oriented options.
Toyota/Honda are behind the EV wave because they went down the dead-end of fuel-cell. If it wasn't for the fuel-cell failure both toyota and honda would have multiple EVs right now. They blew their R&D budget on fuel cell. It's their lack of funding that is causing delays. You want to see how badass an EV can be? Check out the Ioniq 5N. The reviews are through the roof across the board with it's engagement and it's obviously because they can mimic gas performance.
I would argue the likes of Toyota/Honda would have to throw caution to the wind to blow through any budget they have. Considering the billions they pull in yearly. What I believe is they set a certain amount of money to see where they'd get in R&D and then dialed it back to confirm the market was mature enough for it. EVs I believe are included in that idea. Not that they won't do it, but both those companies are methodical and won't kill any sales of their current bread and butter models, for the idea of just throwing in a EV Camry or Accord. I wouldn't see any of those increasing their sales, as their market has yet to ask about that enough to warrant a shift in R&D. Also, you should check out some of my older podcast episodes, as I've talked A LOT about the Ioniq 5N and what I love about it. I think that car is great!
That market adjustment is crazy
I'm sure every Chevy dealer will add nothing less than $50,000.
For power? Probably not
250 max
You would be wildly surprised at what even those small 1.5 liter turbo Honda motors can produced.
FACTS 👍 Me personally this platform with the hybrid is going to be a game changer. I feel Honda going to sell a bunch of these.
Especially if you consider if you want more performance, they have a CTR ready for you.
FACTS 🔥🔥
Tokyo Auto Salon in 2026 will be a true sign of what the market does.
Thinking of getting one and test drove a fairly used (4k)one yesterday. After I test drove the GRC, i noticed a weird burning smell coming from the engine bay. Is that normal? With the controversy of not able to go speed over 80 MPH and 2 toyota GRC owners which the engine caught fire while driving is very scary and knowing Toyota did not do anything to help is not a good customer experience.
Well, maybe I can clear up a few things for you: 1. 80 MPH: This was taken out of context, and some of us believe that screenshot running around, where someone said a Toyota rep said this, is made up. The reason why is because that statement IS in our manual, but its talking about have the proper performance tires to exceed higher speeds. It says nothing about the car being unable or unsafe above that speed. It would be unsafe above 85 MPH IF the tires you have are inadequate. Thats what the entire paragraph says, not just the snippet they tried to pass of as something Toyota said. - 2. Burning smell: Depending on what you are use to driving the 3-cylinder motor in this car runs very well, but it produces heat. So if you are running the car and stop you will smell the heat from the motor. That could come off as a burning smell, but it is not. Now, I'm not saying something couldn't go wrong, but I've put enough miles on my car and many other owners I know, that spontaneous engine fires are not happening like these stories tried to paint. If you research the GR Corolla and the GR Yaris you'll see plenty of people speak about the motor and how its runs hot due to its turbo design and how hard these cars are driven. But, no one is speaking to that as if there is a fire risk, most are speaking from a performance standpoint and the aftermarket things we change to help produce more power and efficiency and cooling, like an intercooler, oil cooler, etc. - 3. Warranty: For reference the 2 cars that caught fire were repaired by a 3rd party entity and one was a salvage title. Both of those owners bought another GR Corolla after that entire story went viral. We have spoken with Toyota corporate engineers in Plano, TX about the GR Corolla and asked how many incidents they've had about a fire. Which they said none. They heard about those 2 people and the reason the warranty was denied, was because it was not a manufacturer defect that caused the issue. One was a salvage title repair, the other had work done to it by another company. After that Toyota would not warranty work that was done improperly that caused a fire. - Hopefully that helps give you some ease of mind on the car. If you want some real ownership feedback, join the GR Corolla Forums and join the Verified GR Corolla FB groups we have. You'll find plenty of owners who track their cars, have them modified like myself, daily drive them and have miles higher than mine.
Does this fix the speaker protection aka “dumbing down” the bass? I listen to a lot of EDM and stuff loud but past 37 i noticed that the bass is being reduced and cut down
Yes, it cleans all this up and actually produces better bass sound so we don't have to crank it up so high for good sound.
Same thing with the GR86/BRZ RTV issues. Such a small percentage that scares people 🙄 I've owned my GR86 since July 2022 and put a little over 50k miles on it. No problems so far. And i push it almost every time😂
I always say the negativity or vocal people about something wrong with any car will be the highlight, not the thousands of happy owners.
crzy
The fact this will be sitting at a Chevrolet dealership with this much performance is wild.
Love the vids man! Keep em comin’
Appreciate you watching! More to come!
@ 🙏👌🤘
The 2025 has a different front bumper….they blacked out that strip at the bottom.
Funny enough, if I had the 2025 bumper I probably would paint match that bottom strip.
@@CarQuicks 😂That is funny! I could see it.
With all improvements they did to the 2025….a long list from A LOT better airflow (I really like the new front, it looks more aggressive IMO), sub radiator, welds, suspension was all improved….even more and they included the performance package standard now on all of them so every 2025 will have the identifiable red calipers and large rotors. IMO, the improvements, justify the price increase. The deals right now are really in the manuals because the 8 speed auto is what is selling immediately. The manuals are getting marked down $2-$4K….some before they even hit the lot. The Auto is getting a slight markdown but not nearly as much as the manual. We definitely need to see the end of that market adjustment! Hope you and yours had an awesome Christmas! I am expecting a call any day letting me know they found me the GR I want! Super excited!
Oh man! You are going to love this car! I actually want to drive an Auto version, as I've heard good things about how that performs. One of the things I'm excited about is knowing Toyota is committed to this car and the aftermarket will follow even better because of that. There was a time when we thought this might only be. 2-3 year model run and thats it, but its great to see new owners joining and growing the community.
@ Seriously can’t wait to get it! Been looking since August and almost bought a GR86 but it was way too small, knee kept hitting e brake and steering wheel. Goad it didn’t work out because I found out about the GR Corolla and it was on after that! I had looked at a Civic Type R but they are still trying to get too much for them and after I researched the GR and how it’s made, I was sold! I will let you know when I get it! Sure I will have questions for you!! SERIOUSLY APPRECIATE YOU REPLYING TO ME💯🙏🫡
My modified Type R FK8 burned to the ground but you dont hear anyone talking about those going up in flames. They can though, any car can catch on fire, at anytime, for multiple reasons. I did not tell my insurance about the mods, the car was so burned and melted that you couldnt tell. Insurance covered the car. There was, no reason for me to go back to Honda because I was modded they would have possibly found something and I would have been screwed. I kept it on the low, took the payout and moved on.
Glad you were safe and able to move to something you enjoy. And thats part of the point I was making here... any car has this potential if we take into account the mechanics of a car.
I am about to get a 2025 GRC premium in heavy metal with sub rad, weather mats and door sill protectors….for $3-$4k off MSRP! Thanks for this video! Hope that you and yours have a blessed Christmas and New Years💯🙏
Thats amazing, those are the deals we need to hear more about, and not the insanity of markups. Thanks and a blessed holiday to your and yours as well. If you get a moment, this series extends into more mileage, so if you want to see how its been holding up to 30,000 miles, check out my other videos. You'll love the car!
@@CarQuicks Trust….I have already watched them a few times😂Not too much in depth content on this car and you have some excellent videos. Can’t wait to get mine! Thanks for the reply….MERRY CHRISTMAS 💯🙏
Another great show
Thanks and I appreciate you watching!
How would you compare this to the forge short shifter?
First the install is MUCH more involved than Forge, so that could be a factor into what you would like. As for throw and feel, the Billetworkz has a smoother engagement. Its just as short as the Forge one, but some people dislike the notchiness that theForge SS has. Billetworkz engages a bit smoother and introduces a taller shift knob position.
HonNissuBishi 🙌🏼
They should just change it to that haha
He should have gotten the 70-75A hardness bushing... He went from the hardest bushing down to the softest bushing. Then he got 👉(unhappy, unsatisfied)👈 and went to a completely different company to test the Pitch mount..
Are you talking about what I did or someone else in general? Because no one is mad about a pitch mount, that would be a waste of energy. The series point is to highlight anyone asking whether they should run various ratings and the pros/cons of each. Now you could be talking about someone else and if so... as they say, if doesn't apply, let it fly. Also, for reference the 85A I was running I was happy with, I decided to switch things up and ran that for 15,000 miles, the current mount is 70-75A. Just in case you missed all of that. Lol.
Aston Martin Valhalla is hybrid so the real duel is with the C8 Corvette Zora hybrid will destroy the Valhalla for less money.
I didn't even bring up the Zora because that'll be an amazing comparison to run, just for the price point. I do understand the people who can afford $1 Million dollar cars, could also just buy the Valhalla AND a Zora AND a ZR1... which is a wild garage lineup.
what is it
Renault Turbo R5 3E
Whose gonna buy an Aston Martin for that price, that’s the real question
Good point, but given they sold $4 Million dollar Valkyrie's, this is a deal. Lol.
I love my 2025 gr Corolla
Awesome, glad more people are getting to experience this car!
What front Lip do you have on your Car?
That is from Aeroflow Dynamics. They also released some side skirts for it too.
@@CarQuicks Thanks a lot let me go check it out.
I will never understand why they keep forcing EVs when all the power companies keep saying we do not have the resources and power infrastructure to handle the load of all the charging stations and cars charging on a daily basis.
Literally one of the many points I've brought up in my podcast. Alot of this convincing would be MUCh easier if people saw an infrastructure that could trust and rely on.
Most people now a days are too greedy for HP and what a brochure or paper says. 3000lbs and under with Almost 300hp is a great set up for fun. My Mustang is about 3000Lbs 5 speed V8 over 300hp. If people would stop chasing HP and start seeking simple honest fun
The horsepower wars got us to the point where over 5000-pound vehicles were given a pass. We could really use more lightweight 400HP and under vehicles and get back to the driver experience.
@@CarQuicks agreed 100%
Being under 2k pounds and 300 HP is nuts, that car will fly.
Absolutely!
That shit didn’t lower at all
Well by the numbers, yes it is lower than stock. Now if you want it slammed or even lower, you could go further, in this application that was not the goal.
Love my RS3 and seeing some of its tech in the2025 GR Corolla is super exciting. Def makes me want one.
An RS3 is an amazing machine... I'd love one of those too.
I love this car. My only problems would be. 1. Size being a little smaller 2. Sealer markup 3. Toyota not covering issues if you track your car
I wouldn't worry too much about the track and warranty concerns some have brought up. I can count on one hand the stories I've heard, and you can see hundreds if not thousands of owners who are regularly at the track or have tracked their car. Just visit the forums to find a real ownership experience. There are dealerships who are readily selling at MSRP. I advise anyone to use Facebook and join groups for the GR Corolla and places like NO MARKUP TOYOTA, those groups will have you in an MSRP GR Corolla in a day. Size is relative to what your needs are, but for reference I'm 6'3", married, 3 kids, and I'm regularly putting everyone in the car to go somewhere and for myself, its ample room and space. I just completed a road trip to NY/Northeast, packed with all things and 2 kids for over 2 weeks.
@ that’s wild! I’m 6’3” with 2 kids but plan to have a 3rd. This is encouraging. I will check out those groups
They just had to fukk it up by making it electric 😱🤔😱🤔😱🤔😱🤔😱👎🏾
I don't get why manufacturers refuse to do both. I do get the desire to figure out electric cars, to make them engaging, etc etc. But in the meantime, for something like this, with a fan base who loves it, just stick a motor inside it. It doesn't need to be something wild and crazy, but with the amount of available engine suppliers, they can find something compelling to put in and while they do that, make their electric version.
@CarQuicks Because the government has a hard on for them EV death traps...
If you had done some research you would know there has never been a Renault RS it's the R5 the old one You showed is a 5 GT Turbo🤔🤔🤔
Thank you for the correction. You live and you learn.
Quick question have you ever gotten a "reduced engine power"??? Cuase these are my mods, razor X intercooler, otl pipes, mst v1 intake, mst catted DP, sxth midpipe, forge dump valve, then my last mod was the turbo inlet pipe and have gotten a "reduced engine power" atleast 2 times within 500 miles of me driving it with the new turbo inlet, I've triple checked the couplers for any boost leak but nothing checked all vacuum lines and still can't fine the solution
I don't have as many engine mods as you, but if I would guess, between the intercooler, charge pipes, inlet and the dump valve specifically, the air volume being read from the ECU is probably now beyond the threshold that it can monitor and adjust on its own. I heard a similar case when someone had similar mods as me and you and threw in a weldspeed intake. My theory is that there is a safe place on mods to not have to tune, but at a certain threshold of if you get the error you see, is basically the point where you need to think about tuning with ECUTEK or another option.
VW will never cease to amaze me with their incompetence. This downfall is all self-driven. A mix of arrogance and stupidity.
None of this was necessary, they could have stayed the course, looked at their competition, copied them literally and been good.
Good balanced views. I live in the UK (South Yorkshire). I have owned a Yaris GR4 circuit pack from 2021 to the present day. I started looking into this "fire" issue as I understand the Corrola engines are similar to mine so just wanted to be aware. I daily mine and also go thrash it on the weekend. It may be a different style of driving e.g. I drive twisty narrow roads at a "fun" speed and haven't had hiccup out of the Yaris. So I was wondering if was perhaps "money shifts" etc (I have very rarely drive an auto - well apart from when I visited SEMA or Detroit for work) or something related to dragging ( but would have thought the Australians would have whinged about that by now, if was an issue?)
Some of those things like a "money shift" are part of the problem or over revving, but unfortunately a lot of the stories go for sensationalism and not at least breaking down where things failed. Ultimately, owners having the car in good shape are the real story for its reliability.
that RS turbo is awesome looking, would be cool even though it is electric.
The price I fear is what will have this as a very limited vehicle.
You drive to much brother, my e39 doesn't even have 30k miles.
Haha! We aren't here on earth for a long time... enjoy what you have now, we can't take it with us.
Imagine buying Apexi coilovers and getting an 8 to 10 page booklet in full Japanese 😫
I had Google Lens on each page translating everything, I can't imagine coilovers LOL
Yup at BAT. It’s a collectible prices will keep going up
I do get it in the end, considering where Mitsubishi is right now, these will never fall into a reasonable price ever again.
@@CarQuicks but for 160k is crazy. That’s r34 nur spec money
@@EVO_IX Oh I'm not disagreeing, me personally, I'm going for an R34 because I could just go get another EVO8/9 in higher mileage for under 40K, there are no cheap R34 GTRs anymore.
A lot of people don’t like the 2025 bumper as mush. I think one you wrap or paint the two small pieces black t on match the rest of the bumper and then add a black splitter 🔥. Like the all black type R
I mentioned that in my video comparing the 2023 to the 2025 that few painted areas will clean it up. Though the foglights being taken out is sad.
Exhaust sounds good outside but seems like it drones very bad in car. When in the video your in the car and driving is the mic outside on the rear bumper or is it inside? Because if the mic is inside the drone/ bass drop sound is too much.
Mic placement, as the person who owns this exhaust commutes like 60 miles one way, drone would have been a killer for that long. Compared to the likes of AWE or an RK Titanium Track exhaust, this is incredibly mellow.
The Evo 8 and 9 will be the next "Supra". Too good of a car that is only getting rarer by the day. Well-preserved Evos will fetch a lot of money. Parts are being discontinued daily. You are right about all the maintenance low-mileage cars need but a person who buys cars like these arent planning to drive them. They are collectors.
@andydhillon1977 which is just plain sad why store a perfectly good car when someone else can enjoy it
@dubzybc5457 I disagree 100%. I wish there were more time-capsules like this. Allows people to experience exactly what they were like new.
@andydhillon1977 I'm going to 100% disagree with you if you want a time capsule every dealership should have 1 of each of their cars put into a museum like how they did with porche from the cars movie .Taking a perfectly good car away from a fellow car enthusiasts is a asshole thing to do some kid could've had an amazing time rebuilding it
@dubzybc5457 "Asshole"? That's all I need to know whom I'm dealing with. 🤣 Since you're so compassionate, why don't you restore one that "a kid built" a.k.a destroyed?! I am! I'm rebuilding a destroyed Evo 8 that a foolish "kid" got his hands on. I have over $20k in new parts ready to go on it. Notice the difference between you and I? You sit on the sidelines opinionated. I'm putting in work! Subscribe to my channel. I'll be posting video updates in 2025. Making the content behind the scenes right now. 1-man show!
Yep, you are correct and the further Mitsubishi gets away from their glory days the more money these will be.

As a German I say that’s the end of VW.
I don't see where they think this idea HELPS them.

Actually, this is my friend's car, I do have a Circuit hood though, it's just in the garage, I shot a video on that that I've yet to publish as I have a few things to finish on it.
