    HI! nice comparison test! Here in Italy the Gladiator was available exclusively with the V6 Ecodiesel, produced in Cento, near Ferrara (and Maranello) and from my home, VM, which produced this engine, is about 120 km away. At my 80th anniversary Gladiator I change the oil every 10,000 km, and I take care of it like a child: I love it: now that it is no longer imported, it maintains its value very well! I think I'll keep it until (my) end🥰🤩👍💪🏁

    I own a 23' ecodiesel. Freaken love it. 20k miles and plenty of trails and no problems at. It's different maintaining it but I work around diesels so I'm well aware. 1 bottle of def ever 5k miles, hardly noticeable. I have a gas card and I pump diesel at 87 pump gas prices. So a win for me 😂. I have a TJ and my eco and love them both. Don't get tired using either one.
    Great video 🤙🤙

      Nice.. I really enjoyed the Eco Diesel. So interesting, i ended up getting the 4C Turbo because my wife had the color choice, but i'm learning to enjoy it. Still don't love the sound, but the torque is nice, especially when towing.

    I've owned 2 4xe's and I'll never own another one. Too unpredictable and complicated. One minute it's great, next minute it's royally screwed and waiting for a hybrid certified tech to get around to diagnosing it, then waiting even longer for parts to show up that might not actually fix the problem.
    That said, I have an EcoDiesel now and I love it. Feels lighter on its feet than the 4xe and its silky smooth on power delivery. Consistently returning 21mpg around town running 37's. Yes, theres alot more maintenance you need to stay on top of, but it's 100% worth it. DEF is cheap and lasts a long time, I'm only 1/4 through my tank after 1500 miles of driving.

      Very cool. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with the 4xe. Yeah.. there are lots of moving parts with that one for sure. I really like the test drive.. but if it's consistently down for the count.. not much good. I loved that diesel. So awesome..

    I own a 2021 Wrangler with the Ecodiesel. I absolutely love the engine, the torque is amazing and the the fuel efficiency is great even here in northern WV. I have had one issue with a particulate filter sensor, however it was because I wasn’t running the engine long enough at the time for it to regen properly. There are dpf and egr delete kits now, so that is an option for anyone worried about the emissions issues.

      Lots of Eco-Diesel Fans for sure. My only concern was the short trips.. as you mentioned. I also wanted to tow with it.. and there has been some issues with hot temps and climbing uphill that causes it to lose power. But really.. it was a blast.

      @@The.Garage.Studio you’re right about the overheating or derating issue while towing up steep grades. I don’t have any personal experiences with the issue, but have seen some posts about it occurring. Wondering if they’ll come out with something aftermarket to help the oil and transmission temps down? I just bought a hitch and harness for my JLU, but I will only be hauling dirtbikes. If I have any issues with it overheating, I will definitely let you know.

    I own the a Diesel Rubicon wrangler and totally love my jeep. You forgot to mention that with the diesel option you also have to get the upgraded transmission. So the total was 6500 extra dollars with the $4000 diesel engine upgrade and the $2500 transmission upgrade . Makes the Jeep kind of expensive and out of reach for a lot of people.

      I loved the Diesel. From what i've been reading lately though there are just a couple of issues. It's not great with short trips.. some emission issues if the engine doesn't get warmed up properly. Also, it tends to overheat a little in hot weather going up steep grades. And lastly, their is a parts availability issue. But, minus those issue the performance in the city, highway, and especially off-road is amazing. Thanks for watching and sharing !!

    Thank you for such a pleasant review. I've seen some reviewers going through specifications and features like a robot but this was a way nicer experience with you driving it and explains how you feel. I also think you genuinely like Jeeps! :)
    Quick question: when you say V6 with E torque do you mean ESS? I don't see Jeep specifically saying V6 have E torque and I thought they had it for some years but not now- All my information is from jlwranglerforums :)
    That's what Jeep website says in the engine description: The 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine includes Engine Stop/Start (ESS) Technology. ESS automatically shuts the engine off at full stops, then re-engages for takeoff. The technology is engineered to help deliver efficient performance and can be disabled with the push of a button.

    • @The.Garage.Studio
      @The.Garage.Studio  5 месяцев назад +1

      E-Torque is not the ESS.. Well it sort of is.. but all the V6 Penestars from 2021 and up have E-Torque which is a mild hybrid system. Basically you have an electric motor that handles the engine start stop, instead of a starter and alternator doing it along with the auxilary battery. The V6's with E-Torque don't have the auxilary battery.. which is a common problem on Wranglers. I hope that better explains it. For more information on Wrangler E-Torque you can watch this - ruclips.net/video/VmGoh4Yhnxo/видео.html

      Diesels are certainly different than gas engines. But I use Hot Shots Secret in our diesel pickups. I did buy a 3.6L '23 JLU, but would have preferred a diesel. My '16 Ram 1500 Quadcab 4wd is pleasant to drive overlanding, but is kind of large for some situations. Our '18 Ram 2500 Crewcab 6.7L, carries our 4wheel popup camper and pulls our JLU. The Cummins is a beast, with such massive power! The Ecodiesel by comparison, just gently pulls up mountains and around obstacles.
      I do have a '96 ZJ that I plan on transplanting a Cummins 4 cylinder and the ZF 8-speed transmission.

I'm actually surprised by how much I like it. I don't like the sound of it so much.. and I think i'd actually get better gas mileage with the penestar (I get about 24 MPG combined). But.. it did a real nice job with towing my little Aframe Aliner Camper. Did a 1,000 mile trip thru mountains and it never had any problems pulling. And.. amazingly it averaged 20 MPG. I was surprised.

      I’ve driven the 2.0L, 3.6L etorque, and now the regular 3.6L. All great engines but agree on the reliability aspect of the pentastar

    • @kyle6703
      @kyle6703 4 месяца назад +1

      I’ll also add that the etorque felt more responsive, meaning it shifted more smoother and accelerated and decelerated better; because the vehicle did leverage the extra torque from the battery. However, there’s is a trade off with added complexity. I didn’t experience any issues, but some others complained about issues with the additional battery and that they also didn’t like the added complexity this added to the engine. There’s also the risk of damaging this battery that’s tucked up underneath the bottom of the vehicle, when engaging in off road scenarios. Therefore, 3.6L without etorque proves to be more reliable with less complexity of the additional battery system.
