Favourite movie of all times... I always go back to it somehow. I don't think it would ever be possible for me to show someone how important this movie and song are to me, so I will just leave it here, as a mark of my existence. This is my soul.
I remember watching this movie with my ex-wife in Alaska. She couldnt comprehend. We are going through a Divorce.There were other movie goers who understood it. We talked about existentialism and what it truly means to live. You have one life. Help, Love and Live as much as possible. Cheers

Ugh... i've never had a film that had such an impact on my day to day life. What makes this a masterpiece how relatable the main character is... consequences... losing someone who you deemed perfect. They're so relatable that you are feeling exactly what david is feeling on the roof top.... feeling truly sad... but the sweet is never as sweet without the sour.
Lost my father four months ago. He only got 62, one day before their 40th wedding day, on my sister's birthday (seriously, what are the motherf***ing chances?!?!). Then I remembered this movie, dealing with loss and death. Listening to this song makes me want to be put in a dream where I can see my father again :'(

I fell in love with this song and Sigur Ros. Listening to this song since my father's passing brings so many good memories back. I'm sorry for your loss.

the critics absolutely had no idea of what this film was about. They're too accustomed to reviewing hollywood crap. This film was so far out of the box, that most audiences and critics missed out on the greatness of this film. One of the greatest films since the turn of the millennium.
This song for some reason, inspires me, and for a thousand different reasons, from the soundtrack, to the cast, and all in between... this film will remain my favorite. Each time I watch it, I find another 'ah-ha' moment. The latest one is at the end of the film, when he is asked to open his eyes, his right eye, which was disfigured in the accident, is full frame, and corrected. I know he agreed to wake up and get the work done, but great and subtle touch.

Saw sigur ros live at JPJ here in Va and loved the show. At first I was amazed how barren the seats were. Basically we were all allowed to move to whatever seat we wanted (minus the standing floor). Somehow though that gave me comfort - the fact that the place want packed. Made me feel as if the music and the band was truly unique in its sound and attitude. So much so that it's fans are limited to some extent. Here's to those that appreciate sigur ros!
they're so simple,easy,just the way they are.They were no super-modern glasses and they wear no awesome clothes but they write this amazing music and every piece of it is absolutely gorgeous.Fabulous,just...so true and honest and terrific.
I have to give Cameron Crowe a lot of credit for the music he picked for this movie, especially this song, I'm glad the blue ray is coming out June 30, 2015!
I envision the innocence of my children... The hugs, kisses, smiles and laughter. All of that has since passed as they've grown into young adults. Now the once carefree joyfulness has given way to adulting... and it breaks my heart. I knew they'd get older, I just never wanted "my" concerns to be placed upon their shoulders... ever. I know, as they become men, they'll forge their own paths, with their own adventures... I just hope they remember that they have two parents, to whom, they will forever be those kids; playing and dancing in the rain.
This movie made me cry... I'm crying right now, because of the end of it. It's the best movie I watched. Really touched my heart this movie! =| And of course, this movie is telling us that we have only one life, and we have to apreciate it at the maximum, with the people that we love. Yes it is a live version and has been adjusted to fit into the movie version. Cameron Crowe got this song before it was released having heard it at a concert. I am glad he used the raw version track rather than waiting for the studio version. Sigur Ros is a great live sounding band.

I can't watch Vanilla Sky it makes me suicidal. I don't know why I say that but the thought of the movie is sooo very depressing that it's very very triggering to watch but this song triggers something very very different and hopeful for me which is loving to me. This is the most beautiful song alive to date to me :)
Yea I feel pretty similar. The thought of watching it again makes me sad for some reason, don't know why. It was painful watching it the first time; I guess I just really felt for the characters in that movie, especially Penelope Cruz (she has this adorable innocence about her and it drives me crazy).

The reality of this movie was that he lost her forever that night after the club. And the life that was created for him post-reality was perfect. I know it eventually fell apart, but it was running for 150 years before then. I think what makes this movie for me is the roof scene at the end, tying everything together. Our acceptance of what is versus what we want it to be. I don't think we should see this as suicidal (ignore man jumping from building for a moment ;-) Its a death alright, but not a physical one, but think of it as the killing of the characters we create for ourselves, who are stuck playing the same scene over and over. Its an end to that sad play, and instead, its you doing whatever you have to do (even getting over your own fears "his fear of heights") to stop the cycle of living in a world you created that has nothing to do with the world that is, and "open your eyes".
The Rules of Attraction makes me suicidal, how terribly empty the characters are, the girl who slits her wrists in the tub and how unnoticed she feels.

When my mother past away, two years ago, this movie came on TV. Saw it before. Thought it was just about an rich person, who understands that "the little things matter". However, now i think its not the "setup" what was important. "Rich", what does that mean? If you're young, you got plenty time, for friend's, desires, hobby's, damn family of course... To let it all past, ignore it even... I wish to turn back time, but maybe it should all be like it is. I miss her, miss what could've been. Still, it's the good memories that matter, and of course the message "Change, while you can.".

Such a beautiful song for such a beautiful scene of a movie. I really love Sigur Ros. I can't wait for their new album. If you like this song, you should check out Sober Moon by Ali Murray. So dark and beautiful and atmospheric.
Definition of good music - on-pitch sound developing an emotional response from the listener through speed, resonance, lyrical meaning, tactful emergence of one instrument over another, and the passion of the musician in connecting with the desired meaning of a song. Just because you "like" a song does not make it good. You can "like" your 6 yr olds violin playing but that doesn't make it good, quality music. Great music makes you forget about the world around. ie Sigur Ros and Mumford and Sons.

For me, it makes me feel good. Existentialism and Love! Liberation after lifetimes of lucid nightmares. Though he is dreaming, the love is real.

When my mother past away, two years ago, this movie came on TV. Saw it before. Thought it was just about an rich person, who understands that "the little things matter". However, now i think its not the "setup" what was important. "Rich", what does that mean? If you're young, you got plenty time, for friend's, desires, hobby's, damn family of course...
To let it all past, ignore it even... I wish to turn back time, but maybe it should all be like it is.
I miss her, miss what could've been. Still, it's the good memories that matter, and of course the message "Change, while you can.".

Definition of good music - on-pitch sound developing an emotional response from the listener through speed, resonance, lyrical meaning, tactful emergence of one instrument over another, and the passion of the musician in connecting with the desired meaning of a song. Just because you "like" a song does not make it good. You can "like" your 6 yr olds violin playing but that doesn't make it good, quality music. Great music makes you forget about the world around. ie Sigur Ros and Mumford and Sons.
