ive had my ipad air 4 for about 2 years now. it was a really expensive purchase personally, but i really wanted one. it is now a purchase i don't regret. i use it both for work and entertainment, and it has been such a reliable daily driver. it still works just as great as i first unboxed it! 😊✨
Same here, it was my first apple product. And it was very useful in my online classes and media consumption. And i also play games on it. Now im planning to get the iphone 13 mini later this year as a companion for my ipad. I am planning to keep my ipad until it can no longer get the updates 😅.
Watching this on my iPad 10th gen. I love it so much and I agree an iPad is supposed to be an IPAD. I have a pc but sometimes I just want something to stream a movie in bed or play a hair salon game 😂. The more I use my iPad the more I seem to find uses for it. Especially since I can’t fit my entire pc in my bag. My iPad can be stuffed in a laptop bag with keyboard and mouse and you can continue what you need to do!
Great Vid as always. I have an iPad Pro m1 11. I use that as my task manager, calendar and light work on the go. iPad mini 6 is solely my note taker for work and media consumption. And my m2 Mac air is my daily driver for everything else. For some it’s a bit over kill but for me I’ve never been more organized. As a person who runs all projects, pricing and business development for a manufacturing company, I need to stay connected in multiple ways and your vids have helped the most. By far my favorite tech RUclipsr out there.
just dont understand the point if the iPad mini 6, why on earth would you use smaller screen for notetaking or media consumption these are the two things where bigger screen is better
@@noortaiyeba1068yes technically a bigger screen is better but the mini 6 can fit in your pocket and you can hold it in one hand so it’s easily accessible and convenient no one is walking around with a 12 inch iPad Pro and taking it out on the train or bus stop to watch movies on and try taking a quick note with that while on the go it’s not happening
I work in film & tv and one of the most useful apps I love is scriptation. Really great for making notes on scripts, or really any doc but it has a bunch of really unique tools that I think you’d enjoy
Most of my day-to-day work is typing and using apps like Google Docs, Notion, etc. I’ve basically completely replaced my work computer with an iPad Air M1 which I bring to the office and use with a keyboard, magic trackpad, and external display. It’s great.
I do all my things, gaming watching videos reading writing chatting etc., in my iPad mini 5. Controller helps game experience, Magic Keyboard improves typing diary and thoughts, pencil is good for note writing. Great video 👍
I love my iPad Pro 12.6, I essentially set aside all other devices on the side including my phone and the only device that I find myself using abundantly for everything.
Biggest thing about Stage Manager not being “quite there” is app compatibility! Developers - even major ones (I’m looking at you Facebook, Zoom, and Discord) need to get on board!!!
For me personally, iPad first truly personal computer (I’m 32 old). I can do some many things in this device and always have enjoy. I can’t explain how often I use iPad for: work, learning, reading books, listening music and watch videos and other stuff…
After 6 years of using an iPad / iPad Pro, I switched to Microsoft Surface Pro 8. It has been a downgrade with regards to power but a huge improvement in terms of productivity thanks to superior OS and professional software. I still think the iPad Pro is a non essential device...the classic iPad or iPad mini is all people really need. iPad Pro was the most frustrating computing experience Ive had in 30 years of computing, and the cost is another issue. It's simply could not keep up with my growing business as the software wasn't flexible enough. Horses for courses. If making videos and editing photos all day long is what you do, that I am sure the iPad Pro is great. If you work in geology like I do, or another specialism requiring professional software, the iPad Pro is pretty much next to useless.

I have both a surface pro and an iPad, and if it wasn't for the terrible surface battery life & a few iPad exclusive apps (looking at you, ForScore), my iPad would be almost useless.

I definitely agree that a keyboard is essential, but I still can't justify one of the keyboard cases while the Logitech MXkeys mini/k380 exist. a seperate keyboard is worth the extra bag space for me, Really enjoying Freeflow too, it definitely fits my 'organised chaos' style of note taking.
Yea agree. I kinda got a portable stand and keyboard instead as my solution. I also kinda don’t want to turn the iPad into a laptop so the Magic Keyboard doesn’t fit my needs. I don’t want to keep putting it in and out all the time.

Currently transitioning from my 2018 MBP to my M1 iPad Pro (now that is has full external monitor support 😊), it certainly is an attitude change! Great video! Thank you 🙏
First of all, I like your Japanese Route One sign in the background. Thanks for the video. I just bought the iPad Air 5 as my 6 year old iPad Pro is having charging issues. The Air is my 4th iPad and thus far the one I like best. However it feels a bit different, probably because of the lack of a home button as well as the new OS. I also bought the Apple Pencil 2.
Hi there. Could you help me to figure out which iPad should I go with? I can buy an iPad air 5 for $370 and 12.9” m1 iPad Pro for $620. (Both are used and I have a macbook air as well.) My main usage will be note taking, reading news, papers, articles, watching youtube videos and mostly for the educational purposes.
first time watcher and learned so much!! one of my goals this year is to use my iPad more and you've given me lots of great ideas 😊I was wondering though if you can recommend a USB c hub that has worked for both iPad & a MacBook?
If I put one on then I use a Paperlike (link in description) it doesn't affect colours too much but it does wash them out a little, making them look less contrasty.
I find it hard to find things on my iPad. Would you do a presentation on how to keep files and photos in a form that is easy to navigate and searchable?
Bro, i am facing issues with "Freeform" hanging up even in my Ipad pro M1 12.9 inch and also older ipads. Many of my frds too facing the same issue with "Freefrom" . It looks buggy. Its not smooth as i thought. Hence moved to a paid NEBO app which also have a white board and its very smooth to work with without any lagging..
The iPad Pro is one of those devices I really want to use, but for the money of an iPad Pro 256GB+ and the Magic Keyboard you can buy a lot of other great devices.... I guess the Logitech Combo Touch is a great option for a bit cheaper but then you lose having separate charging freeing up the USB-C port on the iPad.
Another great video. I'm still loving both my M1 iPad Air and my iPad mini. This semester several of my grad school textbooks are online only so the iPad air is now a vital part of my tech stack. I just wish I could use the Apple Pencil in the Kindle app! I do a lot of highlighting when I read online and Kindle won't support Apple pencil! Ugh! I love using the highligher on my ipad when reading PDF's (which I import into OneNote) or when reading in Apple books...Kindle needs to get with the program!
How do you use the iPad Mini? I was planning to get one just for notetaking during lectures. Hope it's not too cramped to use because of the smaller size, since the portability seems really good to just take with you everywhere. I want to take the notes over to my MacBook to study and do other general stuff. I was looking to use the iPad Mini as a second monitor as well for my laptop. Have you tried this? I'm wondering if I can use my iPad Mini as a tablet to take notes over bigger files like textbooks and to use my MacBook as my viewer since it'll be able to display the bigger file on the entire screen unlike the iPad Mini.
Hi! Love your videos, and especially the asthetic and small touches! Can I maybe ask what is this font you use in most thumbnails and as captions? It looks very nice
I got the 8Bitdo ultimate when it came out but couldn’t get it to pair to the iPad for the life of me I did several different methods I saw but no video that showed for this specific controller. So I returned it and went with an Xbox controller. I really wanted to love the 8bitdo 😢
My main issue with the iPad is the janky-ness of stage manager and external display support alongside the missing apps like FCP, code editors for things like Java and overall the lack of a proper OS to fully take advantage of the m1/2 chipsets
Question and I apologize if I missed it but...do you use a digital calendar and if you do does it sync with your calendar. I work in an office and combine and use paper notes, digital planner and iphone all day and every day.
I have been able to sync Google Calendar on my iPad and iPhone. You can use Apple's Calendar app or there is also a version of Google Calendar available for the iPad and iPhone. I also use Google Keep for keeping sticky notes. For note taking, I use Notability and PDF Expert, which works great!

Do you ever use your iPad to transfer files from an SD card or an external hard drive to another external hard drive or SD card? I'm just wondering if an iPad is capable or if there is a limit to what you can transfer from one entity to another?
The limitation will be whether the devices you are plugging in can be powered by the iPad. I would suggest using a USB-C hub that has PD (power delivery) tech. I think that it would solve the power issue. Plug in the hub, plug your power cord into the hub, plug in your devices. Files should recognize them…
What's the setting of external monitor support where you can have the iPadOS working on the computer screen? I have a MacBook, and whenever I hook on my iPad with it, it just simply works as an external monitor of the MacBook.
been asking several youtuber how can you hide this home bar at the bottom? samsung has an option for this. I was told you could do it if you use task manager but no reply when i asked how. I know the trick where you enter in this mode by entering passcode but you need to do this for every app every time again and again...
100% agree with it being a companion device. I think I’d go crazy if I had to use it as a laptop/ desktop replacement. I just got one recently; taking notes and drawing have been game changers. Looking forward to using it with my planner apps and getting my schedule sorted again. Using the focus mode shortcuts are genius! Definitely stealing that idea!
I really struggle to do long form note taking with the iPad pencil. It’s really fatiguing relative to pen and paper and the sensation of writing on glass is uncomfortable and some times greasy 😅. I’m thinking of making the switch to remarkable. Curious if anyone else has found a better solution?!

In my previous videos about Notion on iPad there's always a lot of hate for Notion on there, I think it might have some features missing?
@@ByteReview oh okay will look for the video. Thanks
Hi there, does the copy/paste/three finger only work in certain apps? I tried it in a Google doc because I use those a lot and it made the page scroll instead. Thank you for this video 😊
You're welcome! And it should do, it's a system wide gesture, unless Google Docs has it's own thing it's overriding it with 🤔
CAN I ASK, DO YOU HAVE ANY VIDEOS ON EXTERNAL STORAGE?
I HAVE A M1 12.9 PRO CEL/WI-FI WITH 128GB & I WAS WONDERING WOULD I
NEED ANY MORE STORAGE THAN THAT.
I DON’T USE IS FOR ANYTHING MAJOR ALTHOUGH I DO HAVE A GROWING
PROCREATE COLLECTION.
I KNEW IF ANYONE COULD GIVE ME ADVICE YOU WOULD BE THAT GUY.
I’D APPRECIATE IT.
3:29 Did you just switch between Stage Manager apps with a swipe on the trackpad? If yes, would you share how you do it? Thanks!
Yep, three finger swipe!
Which calendar app do you use?
The stock Apple one
4:06 Does external monitor support work when going through a dock (like the Satechi dock in your recent video)?
Rocking to do. the OG best to do app i have ever used. team has grown and now need to use a larger PM app but i miss running my life from to do. great video, thanks!
I love to do!
Do you ever use your iPad to transfer files from an SD card or an external hard drive to another external hard drive or SD card? I'm just wondering if an iPad is capable or if there is a limit to what you can transfer from one entity to another?
Yep done it a few times, works fine 👌🏻
The limitation will be whether the devices you are plugging in can be powered by the iPad. I would suggest using a USB-C hub that has PD (power delivery) tech. I think that it would solve the power issue. Plug in the hub, plug your power cord into the hub, plug in your devices. Files should recognize them…
Anyone having experience with using the iPad for teaching online, sharing screens, jumping from websites. How is your experience with this?
the only problem i have with focus mode shortcuts is that my shortcuts app always shows a notif when i run one :/ none of the usual fixes work
What's the setting of external monitor support where you can have the iPadOS working on the computer screen? I have a MacBook, and whenever I hook on my iPad with it, it just simply works as an external monitor of the MacBook.
You can't put iPadOS on a computer, only an external monitor as such
Connect external monitor directly to the iPad (M1 and above)
My guy
Quick question, when playing genshin on the secondary display, is the aspect ration same with the ipad or the secondary display? Thank you
Same as the iPad sadly
Are you British? Love your accent 😊
I have iPad 2021 don’t what I can do with it
been asking several youtuber how can you hide this home bar at the bottom?
samsung has an option for this.
I was told you could do it if you use task manager but no reply when i asked how.
I know the trick where you enter in this mode by entering passcode but you need to do this for every app every time again and again...
You can hide it if you're in stage manager and push the windows to the bottom. Otherwise I don't think you can?
100% agree with it being a companion device. I think I’d go crazy if I had to use it as a laptop/ desktop replacement.
I just got one recently; taking notes and drawing have been game changers. Looking forward to using it with my planner apps and getting my schedule sorted again.
Using the focus mode shortcuts are genius! Definitely stealing that idea!
Is there any reason my external monitor support wouldn’t work? M1 Pro and when I plug it into any screen it stays blank
Have you got a keyboard and mouse / trackpad already attached? It won’t work without those!
@@ByteReview ahh yes they’re connected to my pc and never clocked that they obviously won’t communicate through that
@@ByteReview I’ve plugged a keyboard and mouse in, they both work with the iPad but still won’t connect to the monitor
The monitor just stays black
How did you create this shortcut that changes home screen setup?😮
Linked in description 🙌🏻
Craft is better than Notion IMO.
Oh interesting! I need to check it out properly!
😒
I really struggle to do long form note taking with the iPad pencil. It’s really fatiguing relative to pen and paper and the sensation of writing on glass is uncomfortable and some times greasy 😅.
I’m thinking of making the switch to remarkable. Curious if anyone else has found a better solution?!
You can try looking into the Paperlike screen protector. Ik that of artists like it
Yeah a paperlike might help with that!
What game is that at 8:40?
Final fantasy 7 first soldier
@@theseriousaccount haha he says what it is right at the timestamp. Derp on my part. Thanks!
Yo I just got an iPad like a few days ago
Perfect then!
@@ByteReview Perfect timing
The magic keyboard is really a daft purchase, no protection and the keyboard is small and cannot be detached.
