Or evgenia who has a permanent life long spinal injury and cannot rotate her body to the opposite side. Or maybe even Daria who tore tendons in her pelvis. Mirai Nagasu should go to 2014 Olympic as well. She is better skater than Ashly Wagner. She is determent to be here and come back in Olympic again. 3A can not say No to her again. This is amazing moment. A lots of people supported her and she beats racist issue on ice previousely... I am so proud of her. Midori Ito, Mao Asada, Mirai Nagasu all Japanese women landed most difficult jumps since. Russian kids skates took over with skating drama due to doping now. Female Skating is changing dramatic ....
@@maradorf5501 tonya harding didn't land the triple axel at the olympics, it was at nationals in 1991. she was the first american woman to land it in competition but the first woman ever was midori ito, at the 1989 world championships. midori ito was also the first to land it at the olympics, in 1992
I wonder if we’ll ever have another American lady who can deliver a performance like Mirai displayed here. The US ladies’ showings at the 2022 Olympics was quite disappointing. Even without any quads or a triple axel, there is such a lack of consistency. Karen, Mariah and Alysa are all beautiful skaters, but for the former two you can never be confident they’re going to skate a clean program.
Unfortunately-rightly or wrongly-the doping controversy has cast a big cloud on the technical progression by way of quads. More girls can successfully do axels now, though there were still a lot less landed at the Olympics by women who we know are capable of them. It’s still not considered easy.
