She responded with “Margo needed more beer and cigarette smoke in her hair if she truly wanted to portray Tonya Harding, and the producer should have just called me if they needed someone who knows how to land a triple axel”…..as she giggles like a playground bully.

One of my favourite performances in whole figure skating history. What an amanzing moment. Great Mirai! I love that her opening triple axel was perfectly in connection with the crescendo of the music, like a suspense effect before her landing. Wow, she can be proud of herself for all her life!
I know what happens, yet every time I find myself breathless with anticipation during those opening bars of music waiting for the triple axel, and cheering every time she lands a jump. One of my favorite-all time moments in the sport.
She is the one and only woman landed 3A in the Olympic 2018
I was also impressed that in the replays, Team Canada's reaction (especially Meagan Duhamel) to Mirai Nagasu landing the triple axel was a thing of beauty to watch. This is why that no matter what country you're from, supporting skaters from other countries is what brings everyone together, especially for the Olympic Games.
Mirai has a tendency to land wobbly on her jumps but seem to always save it with her amazing balance.
“Mirai ”means “future” in Japanese. Her skating was powerful and joyful. I love her forever.

What's amazing about her is that she learned the triple axel after her adolescent body changes and succeeded in it. There must have been many difficulties along the way, but her efforts did not betray her.
Tremendous accomplishment off Marai Nagasu, there is no doubt about that. But I just can't stand the title of the video... history isnt only made by the USA. She made American history. Will the first female Canadian, Italian or Belgian skater who lands a 3A receive the same recognition???
She was also the first woman to skate a clean 8 triple skate at the Olympics, since Mao had calls on her jumps previously, if it makes you feel any better.

She could do a 3A but didn't compete it in short and free? This was team event it seems. What a waste.
She did go for it, but in the short program she stepped out of the landing, and in the free she balked the takeoff and only did a waltz jump instead. Still amazing she landed it in the team event
Why do the Russians land triple axel like it’s something ordinary
It's probably because they are used to accomplish somethig big, also partly because their triple axel isnt as big lol
Kamila was the only Russian to land it at the Olympics, but it got overshadowed bc of the doping controversy.

say you don’t know figure skating without saying you don’t know figure skating. any figure skater will tell you just how bad tonya’s 3A is. her axis is literally horrible and inconsistent. she doesn’t even sit with the best. please
