This is how you play a "true "recital This very talented musician slide onto the organ bench with just the clothes on his back and what he let his fingers, fingers and his heart play this marvelous recital. Hats off to this man!
Dear Nathan; There are so many wonderful things I'd like to say about your playing... like your sensitivity to phrasing, your registrations, your integrity toward the composer, the audience, the auditorium, your heart-felt innocence and intense passion for the instrument, and on and on. Everything you do is touched with grace and high inspiration. In short, you are an inspiration to all of us... and will be to generation to come. It also helps to have a wonderful recording crew as you obviously do. Blessings on all you love. CVD
What A Sheer Delight To Sit Here at my apt with Wireless headphones watching this Incredible Concert On My 65" HD TV. What a Incredible Musical Journey you took us on. Bravo! What color & feel you bring to your music? I can't say enough. Bravo!
Once in a life time humanity is blessed to have one of you to walk among us. Angles surround you and may you find love and be loved while one Earth. Sincerely. CVD
The hardest piece I ever played as a kid learning piano was The Prelude in G Minor - took me over a year to learn and memorize, and it was super tough! Laube makes it look so easy - and that given it's probably 2-3x as hard on the organ - wow! Hearing it now on organ surprises me - it's only about 5 minutes long. Amazing how much work goes into performing such a short piece.
Having a decent instrument and an organist who really knows how to play hymns helps a lot. I’ve experienced it first hand when my former parish installed an amazing instrument and let the prior hack go in favor of a real organist and Lo and behold the congregation learned to sing just like on this video.
Nathan does his performance from memory....remarkable, he has master the ORGAN literature, and OUTSTANDING Organist and master of the music. Superior!!!!!!!!

Excellent - and played from memory, not gazing at a piece of paper!
That isn't a deterrent to making music however.

If only church congregations would sing like these OHS members! Getting people to sing these days is difficult. Great recital!
