An extraordinary musician who plays the instrument as an organic extension of himself. Certainly he has few peers.....

Remarkable that it takes at least THREE people to drive this amazing instrument including 2 who support the player as well as adjusting the Stops. Bravo.

This is how you play a "true "recital This very talented musician slide onto the organ bench with just the clothes on his back and what he let his fingers, fingers and his heart play this marvelous recital. Hats off to this man!

Having a decent instrument and an organist who really knows how to play hymns helps a lot. I’ve experienced it first hand when my former parish installed an amazing instrument and let the prior hack go in favor of a real organist and Lo and behold the congregation learned to sing just like on this video.

When I was a music student in London, I sat next to Herbert Howells on an Underground Train (though I did not know who he was at that time.) I picked up a packet which he had dropped and gave it back to him. (It was his sandwiches for lunch!). We chatted and I learned who he was. I had played all his Psalm Preludes from the age of 15 so was thrilled to meet him, speak to him - and of course save him from being hungry! What a day that was!

So far as the Quimby at Jackson is concerned, I was one of the team that buit it. Jan Kraybill is a wondetrful organist. What worries me is that it is not First Baptist, Jackson that are going over to "Praise Music", but even some churches of my own Episcopal Church are doing the same thing. What to do?

Nathan Laube is one of a small handful of organists for whom I would actually drive considerable distance just to hear live. Every micro-movement, every subtle registration change, every articulative nuance, and the over all "ethos" of every piece is revealed in his playing.
