I am frustrated with our power company. We have high tension lines on our property. Right of way allows constant “servicing” and clearing of brush. They get away with so much.
Good job bringing this to light to us outsiders.

The amount of lines taken down by a vehicle driving under them is so strange to me, being from the States. I am always surprised how often it happens.
Since Rico charges so much, they should provide amazing infrastructure. They just don't seem to care. I wish we could all drop them and move to our own solar.

If it was underground wiring, a delivery truck may Impact the distribution box along the road. The entire area becomes charged.
Underground wiring can fail, and be out of sight, with no means to repair or identify the trouble.
Underground wiring is not the answer. It's an option, but not the cure for anything which can happen. Especially when an accident is involved.

The animosity between ( Garifunas, karibs and , the so called English blacks ) its so silly to this day its baffles me ( not evryone has hatred against the garifuna) but thats and issue that should be discussed and solved one and for all in my humble opinion

What do you think would be something Roatan can use to make life better?

    It was an accident.
The delivery truck did not intentionally hit/damage the pole. Bless the Mackenzie family during this time of loss and sorrow.
This tragic accident was not preventable by RECO.

Hope is well Mr Strine, Yes, it was, RECO are very responsive when it comes to these things I first hand witness it, but I think they should have a team just for these wire problems, like have a guy on a bike that can get to the scene fast and put coons and cautions signs so people can see not to walk over or come near, because with the growth of the island who owns what else can happen especial in those areas that are far east and can be hard to get to I feel a special respond team is best to handle these going forward.

@@BYRONJKP The East End response team would be a great idea to present to them.
As well as a response truck with the gear, parked at the office which any repair tech can get in an emergency.
