- Testing 15 popular games on the Nvidia GeForce GTX TITAN X Maxwell graphics card in early 2021! Released 6 years ago in 2015 for 1000$, the Maxwell Titan X came with 12GB of Vram and 3072 CUDA cores which was more than enough to chew through all of the games at the time... The fact that it can run 4K on most of these with ultra settings, it's still a beast
he only ran the witcher 3 and gta 5 at 4k ultra? both not hard if you dont turn aa on, mostly 1440p high/ultra also without aa. basically a 2060 with higher power draw and more vram

Got this beauty back at launch and still don't feel so in need for a new GPU, especially with insane prices and the unbelievable availability.
Same, the only issue I am running into is needing a new power supply.
I got four of them at launch running quad SLI, at this point, I still feel maybe I won't need to upgrade until the 2030s.
Same but with a 980 Ti, it can still pull of 4K at acceptable framerates.
@@bobjordan4488 you do know most games don't take advantage of sli anymore? maybe 5 years ago dev did but most devs don't care anymore about giving support sli or crossfire so you not getting better performance anymore than someone with 1 card sli and CF are a waste now unless you doing other things than gaming.

This card still performs quite well today, the 12GB certainly helps it out a lot. Would it be possible to test out GTX 1080 Ti someday? I think that would make for an interesting video. :)

Worthy upgrade for my GTX970? I've held out too long and now can't afford any of the RTX cards but there's a second hand titan (maxwell) for under $400 AUD
@@nicksnicknet Its a 980 Ti with more VRam and a few extra CUDA cores. Its a decent upgrade, you will notice the difference

I think that the performence of the TITAN X is somewhere near the GTX 1660 SUPER nearly 5 years later. Maybe the RTX Titan will be equivalent to something like RTX 5050 Ti in a few years. Really hope it happens
To be fair, to be able to get a 1660 super at normal retail when they were available for the price and it outperforms this X is crazy to me.

@@zWORMzGaming holy shit 200 € for a used rtx 2060 is so good here in US I bought a RX 580 4gb used for a build to sell $230 best price I could find I think the RTX 2060 was like $400 + used

I don't care if it's old. With the modded bios this card is still a beast. Still rocking it in 2021 and I'm only upgrading when the market drop backs to a normal level. Prices are insane now and my loyal EVGA GTX Titan X Hybrid still does what I need :-)
I know used rtx 2080s are like $200 now.

@@Rex-tt1vk it just goes bad some manufacturing defect micron always seems to be a problem Samsung is king you never see their ram die. My poor 3090ti has micron hopefully it doesn't have any defects lol

Imagine paying only $1k for a top of the line card today, now you have the 3090 with a base price over $2k, absolutely stupid.
I spent 1k 6 years ago and ROI was only 1 month.. not stupid at all if you do animation and rendering jobs. and Still i am using it today in Archviz I did not upgrade for 6 years now I RTX features can be enabled in my 6 year old card.
here in brazil, we have a minimum wage of $1045, and the rtx 3090 is above 25k, this is our fucking reality

I did some research. My Titan X Pascal is more powerful than the Super RTX 2070. Not what I expected but yea this card is ultra powerful still. It was nice to see the Maxwell as a review. It made me feel much better about my Titan X Pascal

awesome and informative vid, I still game on my titan x, something interesting to note, the performance of the titan x is bound to the core cpu temp.
I used the N980 cover for the card as well as a single 140 AIO cooler and at 1440p get higher FPS in a lot of the games than you managed, unfortunately Kepler architecture sucks with DX12.
It's how Nvidia's boost technology works :)
Also, the titan x is a Maxwell GPU, not Kepler. Maxwell is actually OK in dx12!

2. Since the game is multiplayer, the gpu has to probably render everything around the player

If the vram is there the game will use as much as it has access to to cache textures - a huge portion of that bloated installation is just textures.

I sold my 5600xt thicc iii for a titan x and I have zero regrets. Works heaps better in actual rendering work than the 5600xt did while giving the same performance in games. Also its a beautiful card

I still remember when this totally destroyed the R9 Not-So-Fury series. No idea why AMD still pulled the same stunt with the RX Flop series/Flop VII (I mean why else AMD named it so differently from the RX 4/500?). It got decimated by the Titan V/RTX.
