Awesome video! I’m encouraged by your channel to keep going forward with mine. I was your 996th subscriber last week and now you are at 1300+!!!!! Congratulations, your hard work is paying off! I hope to be close to where you are within the next year. Would love to be doing product reviews like this! Keep up the good work.
Just to confirm, can you switch between 16x9 and 4x3 aspect ratios for movies and sim without having to physically move the projector? You mentioned switching, but I wasn't sure if you were changing the aspect ratio.
Thank you so much for this timely review. This is the exact projector that I've been looking for ever since the AH 700 ST came out. I was hoping they would come out with a 4K projector with the same specs. This review was perfect timing since I just had enough time to return the projector that I purchased around Christmas. Excellent review thanks.
That’s great! I’m so glad it was helpful to you. I was working my butt off to get this out quickly because it was supposed to be out by Christmas but shipping got delayed. I had seen the reviews for the AH700ST and thought this would definitely excite someone who was looking for a 4K option! It’s so crisp in 4k. Whoever says there isn’t a difference between 1080p and 4k on the impact screen needs glasses!
@@UnrealGolfSandro I was approved for my refund yesterday and I ordered the AK700ST today. I wasn't aware the AK was even being developed. Your review saved me just in time. Thanks again for getting the review out as soon as you could. Looking forward to more of your reviews. Take care
@@Sparky144-v7gdid the same through carls place. Also, just got an email that they are now doing the curved enclosures after I just bought my whole setup. Fml. Haha.
Great projector and if you can afford it then go for it. For those on a lower budget like me, I have the TK710STi, which is currently great value, also offering 4K but is around £1500 cheaper. It doesn't have the easy setup, but it's not hard to set up and only needs to be done once.
It’s a huge difference. I almost don’t have to record GS pro anymore because of how good it looks if I can control my lighting a little bit better I think we’re in business. Thanks for all the support as always! I’m happy to be able to share my experiences with you all
Yes, it can be off center quite a bit. Don’t remember the exact angles off the top of my head anymore. But it has a digital lens shift and it retains the focus extremely well. crisp picture from top to bottom, even after I adjusted mine.
I explained it right away in the video 😅 but BENQ sent it to me for a review. I’m surprised but I haven’t seen another video for it so I must be the first one. Just know that you’re going to absolutely love it. My screen is cheap and small and it blows my old projector away.
Thanks for the review. I recently bought the ah700st and it sucks. Returning for this one. Same aspect ratio as yours and am encouraged at what you are showing. Wanted he 936 but just can’t justify the spend. Found a lot of browns ans drap colors with ah700 and I just bought a super good graphics card at 4070 nvdia. Must be the projector. Thx again
Nice I think you’re making a good move. For one, you definitely wanna take advantage of that graphics card. The colors on this one are unlike anything I’ve seen.
Very nice indeed, but a bit out of my price range, Maybe BENQ can send me a 1080p projector to review on my Channel in my new Sim room, lol. The BENQ mx613st 720p is on its last legs, over 4000 hours. , Well done on the success of your channel mate. Onwards and upwards 👍👍
Thank you. It’s out of a lot of price ranges. But for those who don’t want to deal with shopping around or used projectors and they want a nice easy setup as well as top tier graphics, it’s going to be a fantastic option. Just keep doing what you’re doing with the channel. Apparently BENQ sees all. My channel hasn’t been around long. Thanks for the support
My screen is an 8 x 8 but it’s technically set up with 6 inches hanging on the ground so the auto screen fit still works with my 1:1 ratio. I set mine up 9 feet away and then I used the manual zoom to bring the size down, but I believe I could’ve set it up even as close as 6 ft.
do you think the 4000 lumen is plenty?? I was looking at the 5100 lumen (I want to dual use for home theater with a drop down screen) but for half the price this 4000 lumen is looking like the move. Have you viewed the LK936ST in person? I wish I could view them side by side or maybe someone will upload a video of a comparison to help aid with the decision.
I wish I could help you with your comparison, but I can’t. But I will say it’s very important to consider contrast ratio alongside lumens. My 5200 lm projector underperformed compared to the AK 700 ST because its contrast ratio was only 10,000:1 vs 3,000,000:1 with my new one. I think for most people 4000 lm will be plenty especially because golf simulators tend to be light controlled. Even with moderate ambient light, I’m still able to take advantage of the picture on this projector. If you want to use it for a home theater, I’m assuming you mean at night time, in which this projector will blow you away. Its color range is far superior to anything I’ve been able to experience.
The lumens will matter more for golf in ambient light than home theater. The contrast, color accuracy and knowing if you are one of the people the sees rainbows in DLP displays will matter for home theater. Also, the ability to easily switch back and forth between desired aspect ratios.
You can likely plug in a chromecast, Roku or firestick, or BENQ sells their own wireless dongle: 5201BS but you do need one of those to be able to use the wireless capabilities. I’m definitely going to have to get one
I’ll be honest, I have no idea! Not familiar with curved projection but I’ve always loved the look. Might have to reach out to BENQ support on that one. They are very responsive
@ I looked at the manual and it supports warp. Obviously it disables the auto sizing feature. Currently running a 200” curved screen with a Christie 6000 lumen projector with built in warp. $6K projector when I built it and crazy bright. But wish it were 4K. Prob will keep waiting for something like the BenQ with equivalent light output and warp before I upgrade it. The Christie 4K options at the time were astronomically expensive
@ is yours currently a laser projection? I downgraded from 5200 lumens but it was a lamp. Laser with the massive increase in contrast ratio (3,000,000:1) is displaying just as bright if not brighter. I understand why you’d want to wait for a higher lumen output and I’m sure one is coming (not sure when) but don’t underestimate the contrast ratio
Wait a minute, it’s supposed to come with Mount for the ceiling!! I’m panicking now cause I’m waiting for it and I didn’t order any amount. It’s supposed to come with one.
I’m not sure what was included with your order but mine certainly didn’t come with one. It says compatible with the BENQ ceiling mount model: CM00G3 but doesn’t say included. My cheap Amazon one worked for me though
Fair enough! That’s going to be the case for a lot of people. It’s a lot of projector to handle and will probably last the average buyer a good decade + so there’s certainly some value in that

@@carlosbradley8289I got my free year of GSPro tho. You??
What level pc are you running to play GSPro? Am torn between this and the AH500ST at 1080p.
I’m running an RTX 4070 Super, 32 gb RAM. It’s slightly overkill for now but I imagine it won’t be for long. Some of the new courses are demanding.

Is there a noticeable difference in the brightness when you turn golf mode on? That was one of the biggest knocks of its predecessor the AH700ST.
@@billstickers3924 you had a lot of ambient light in the room?
looks good
Do you get to keep the projector?
Yes I do
4000 lumens only in Golf mode like the AH700ST?
Did they pass along a launch date? I ordered one but no one will say when it launches.
Was supposed to be this month. But even my unit got delayed by almost 3 weeks. I don’t have an updated date though
