You do great walkthrough videos. I started shadowlands late. My problem was that some later dungeons had no real walkthrough videos by anyone, and they were the hardest to navigate. When I'm tanking I really need to know the dungeon first, not practice and try to figure out mobs while looking at the map.

Only thing I would change is don’t do normal/heroic to learn the instance. You can run mythic 0 with 320-340 ilvl very easily. This way you can see the mechanics that don’t happen in normal/heroic dungeons.
I don't disagree and tanked M0 at ilevel 337, but the problem is - getting into groups as DPS. Starting a group as DPS in very low gear is a nightmare.

Really? I find Normal sometimes absolutely excruciating as I carry the whole sleeping group as a tank while they all trail behind and bump into the walls! 🤣
Hey guys, I was just curious as to how you go about learning a M+ dungeon. I really enjoy Prot Warrior, and I want to get into M+, but the fear of not knowing the dungeon, paired with the timer adding pressure, and the potential of missing the timer for everyone involved is quite daunting. I know that, eventually, it'll be a memorized thing. But, before then, how do you go about memorizing the route?
Well, it's obvious really, as I mention in all of my videos. You start under NO pressure in something like Normal, memorise the route - it's not that hard, just run a couple of times - and then look into M+ specifics, such as what affixes are there and what they do? These are extra mechanics that make trash etc harder. I'll do a video about that soon, but I'm no expert when it comes to M+ specifically.
You want to look up the best route through the dungeon to get enemy forces killed most efficiently. You don't want to over kill your percentage but you don't want to come short and have to back track either. Using the addon mythic dungeon tools and importing a route is a good way to go.
Do mythic 0 as they have no timer. It’s a good way to learn the dungeon route at a decent difficulty since normal and heroics are a jokalso, can’t hurt to tell the group you are new and tips/advice or where to go is appreciated, personally I still get lost in court
Im ilvl 390+. I stick to tanking the dungeouns i know and run rest on low key. Still not sure about fastest pull order in court of stars so always go there as dps and try memorize it
As long as you don't just think of yourself as a tank surviving this mess, it's all good... I hate when tanks know they'll be ok, but forget that there's AOE, CC, etc going on the whole group trailing behind them. Especially if they ignore how their healer is keeping up (or not), yuk
@@GyrotexGaming Depends, for example the massive pull before the final boss in academy I'll ask if they want to do the pull. It's a lot of unavoidable damage. But for other pulls where its just 2 groups OR 3/4 groups of super easy mobs (mana worms/imps in court of stars) I gauge how well everyone has been doing on dodging damage, dps, and healing and just pull based on that. Only wipes I've had is dps, healer, or I have pulled extra mobs because of a patrol and even then I can usually turn that around I just have to turn into a tank and healer.
For Warrior I only use the all in one sequence cast macro (which I'm pretty sure I've shared in video description). The others I use just direct cast spells.

Rolled a prot warrior after being holy pally for over a decade. Didn't know what I was missing. So fun

The timer is a team effort. You really shouldn’t feel too much accountability if you run out of time.
