Overall a great car for the $$!

Thank you all for the feedback about this being more of a comparison rather than a review of the Jetta. I have changed the title to make it more accurate for you all.
Drive safe!
Mike VT Rough crowd lol.
No idea why this video is being recommended for me today.
i have the vw jetta comfortline 1.8t. feels amazing.
This is not a Jetta sport review. It's a Jetta and golf comparison basically.
you're right. I have changed the title! Thank you!
So strange that VW tuned the engine differently for the Jetta/Golf. I was under the impression these were the exact same cars with a different chassis. Great reviews. Keep it up!
I know right? I thought the same thing!
Thank you for the support!
The 5 speed manual for the 1.8t Golf and Jetta both have 184 lb ft and the automatic for this engine is the one with 200 lb ft -- regardless of which car it is in. So it depends on the transmission choice and since the Jetta sport comes in 5 speed that is why it is only 184 lb ft. I read somewhere that they detuned the 5 speed because the transmission isn't rated for as much torque as the auto.
Interesting stuff. Here is the information VW provides:

@@jarman65 if true, that really sucks
The Jetta is heavier being an older platform. The torque should be same as Golf as manual is lower TQ. I almost bought Jetta sport model with manual, ,but glad I didnt. I do prefer the black headliner and seats, but the Golf is better overall and now the Golf 1.8t comes in sunroof/manual for 2017. Plus, the golf is lighter, nicer materials and has a/c glove box.. so cool!
It does have airvents. It’s under the front seats.
I have the car Whit with black rims love it fast and comfort I am planning in stage 1 apr to add some horsepower
If I didn't value my warranty as much as a do, I would absolutely jump on the APR stage 1. Seems like a no brainer if you don't mind saying bye to your warranty.
Do it bro, I did it with Apr, huge difference, just gotta remember to gap the sparkplugs. Also there's an extra charge if you want to have the ability to turn it on and off when you take it to the dealership
Does this trim get the soft touch dashboard? Great video!
No, I have the exact same car.
The golf/jetta can only have 199lb/ft when equipped with an automatic. They're both 184 with a manual.
+mulleygraves thanks for the comment! I just double checked and the torque is about 15 ft. lb more in the golf regardless of automatic or manual. Both have 170 hp.
Good catch, I just rechecked and the VW site says that with a manual torque was 184 in 2016 and now 199 in 2017 so I guess they upped them
it must be a typo by VW. I dont think either of the transmissions have changed for 2016 >> 2017
how's the clutch feel compare to your golf? thanks
+Benny Ng Jetta clutch is a bit lighter but very similar feel overall
I hate that Jetta clutches
My dream car that you have 😭
Nice to read that my car is someone's dream car.
I'm assuming you're an aspiring sorority girl as well? Lol I kid
your a.cute girl.
I’m buying one today for $13k has 38k miles or a Volkswagen CC for $15k it has 13k miles
**Forgets what a fold-down armrest is** 😂
You mean "this thing" isn't the correct terminology??? Haha nice catch
Why are all this vws build in Mexico 😔
assembled in mexico
Why are you comparing a Jetta with a golf ??
I just bought this car & I regret it, the rear has no air vents, the dude from the dealer said they were under the seat, but my poor kids sweat so bad😢 I had a 2010 Jetta and I missed it soo much😭
Omg stop I have a 2010 rn, and thinking of buying this car tomorrow 😬
@@desiree7502 it sucks, my 2018 also sucks both have no air vents even in the strongest setting they complain, both my Jettas are leather they can get to hot for the kids, I wouldn’t recommend this car for babies!
I have fans and illegal dark tint in the back windows!
At the dealership they will tell you the air comes from the feet area but the air is not strong in the back, if you switch it to feet it gets too hot for the driver & passager.. I don’t go out with my kids a lot but I think once they go back to school I’m taking one of the cars back and check SUVs.
@@seleneb2330 omg really?, so just to know as a reference before getting this car can you tell me other than the no air vents in the backseat how do you like the rest of the car, like does it drive smooth?
@@desiree7502 yeah can’t deny they are amazing cars, everyone in my family has Jetta, So far I have owned 4, the best was the 2010 which was a 2.5, they are very reliable, they save gas and as long as you take care of them u won’t be spending $ on mechanical work.. only thing I did noticed a few problems like my 2018 22k miles had to get the stereo replaced, it would turn off, the 2020 I got with 0miles had some problems with the blind spot sensors it would start making noise even when there was no cars around me, but it got fixed right away.
I rent cars very often the only ones I love besides Jetta is the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord, test drive every single car that you like but I would stay away from Jetta Passat 😩
this is a basic jetta
2016 Jetta Sport. 17" rims, leather heated seats, 1.8t engine. There are definitely models that are better equipped as well as more basic models
worst car review ive seen yet
