Saudade saudade from Maro 🥰 there is something really special Going on about this song
I cannot believe this artist and song was in Eurovision ! It's like a highly priced gourmet meal in a cheap McDonald, this contest is a joke anyway and nobody takes it seriously, but I'm kinda amazed she was featured in it (and honeslty this is probably the best song that came out of the show in 20 years, by FAR !)

They are rooted in the same place :) Saudade, sevdah is an emotional continuum that has regional varieties (just like different dialects or languages of the same linguistic family) It is all over Mediterranean countries and even goes deeper into the continent.

@@the_light_writer Hello! I knew the story of the song thanks to the commentators of RTVE (Spanish public television) because they said it before her performance at the Eurovision Song Contest.
They said that Maro composed this song as a tribute to her grandfather, who had recently passed away and they were really close to each other.
That's why all the verses revolve around loss, melancholy and longing (that "saudade" so characteristic of Portugal).
Here are the most representative ones:
"Foi sempre o meu porto de abrigo".
