I am a 49-year-old BTS fan. I been a fan since I saw them give a speech at the United Nations. ‘Love Myself’ was the first song I heard when I looked up their music on youtube. There is something about this song that is almost spiritual. When I went to Kenya (East Africa) for a holiday, I came to know a local Shaman, who is deeply spiritually and a psychic medium. I asked her to listen ‘Love Myself’ from my cellphone and tell me about the singers. She had no idea about BTS, their music or Korean language but after few lines, she nodded and said the singers have been brought together by the universe, and they have a purpose that they may not be aware of. Their connection was already decided by the universe she said. If this is true, then I am not surprised that this song and others has helped many young people to overcome problems. If this song has saved one life, then BTS have accomplished their purpose. My wish is to see them live in concert when they reschedule their Toronto concert date once covid-19 is over, or under control. Until then I will hold on the tickets.

so I'm sure no one really cares, but I cannot explain how much this song has helped me. I suffer from bipolar disorder, severe depression, and self harm. there are times where I hate myself so much I want to die, but this song makes me realize that I am still worth living. bts has honestly saved my life. the day before this album dropped I was in a psych hospital for suicidal ideation, and I had planned on killing myself when I got out, but this album has reminded me to keep going. I will never be able to express the gratitude I have for everything bts has done for me. edit : i wasn’t expecting so much support thank you guys so much, also I am proud to say that I am five days clean from self harming :)

You know what means so much to me when it comes to this song? The fact that they're singing "I'm learning how to love myself" instead of "I love myself". It makes me feel at ease with the fact that you may not always actually fully love yourself, but as long as you know you should and as long as you're trying, you're doing great and you should feel proud of yourself.
I also like how they're not as "perfect" as they seem, since they are humans too just like us and may have difficulties in loving themselves by saying "I'm LEARNING how to love myself" :)

my parents don't care about me my mom hate's me my brother hurts me and my dad, I don't have a dad, I only have a stepdad (he's working at the other country) and my BFF doesn't care about me now, she always ignoring me and one day my mom said to me that "you're so thin, your ugly and no one loves you" and she pulled my hair and slapped me, I wanted to cry in front of her but I can't, because if I cry, she will just hurt me and then I cut myself and I always wear a hoodie and I go to my bed and I look at the mirror and said that "mom was right, no one love's me I'm ugly! This exact video changed my life in October of 2019. I cried so hard watching this. I remember turning 14 and I was going through a huge surgery that changed my life forever (I was going through post surgery depression), and then discovered this video that made me become a huge ass Army and I never left the fandom since then lol. Thank you BTS for filling my teenage years with joy and hope. I was a broken kid who needed someone to tell her to love herself and find happiness despite living in this dark world. I am a 49-year-old BTS fan. I been a fan since I saw them give a speech at the United Nations. ‘Love Myself’ was the first song I heard when I looked up their music on youtube. There is something about this song that is almost spiritual.
When I went to Kenya (East Africa) for a holiday, I came to know a local Shaman, who is deeply spiritually and a psychic medium. I asked her to listen ‘Love Myself’ from my cellphone and tell me about the singers. She had no idea about BTS, their music or Korean language but after few lines, she nodded and said the singers have been brought together by the universe, and they have a purpose that they may not be aware of. Their connection was already decided by the universe she said. If this is true, then I am not surprised that this song and others has helped many young people to overcome problems. If this song has saved one life, then BTS have accomplished their purpose. My wish is to see them live in concert when they reschedule their Toronto concert date once covid-19 is over, or under control. Until then I will hold on the tickets.

so I'm sure no one really cares, but I cannot explain how much this song has helped me. I suffer from bipolar disorder, severe depression, and self harm. there are times where I hate myself so much I want to die, but this song makes me realize that I am still worth living. bts has honestly saved my life. the day before this album dropped I was in a psych hospital for suicidal ideation, and I had planned on killing myself when I got out, but this album has reminded me to keep going. I will never be able to express the gratitude I have for everything bts has done for me.

You know what means so much to me when it comes to this song? The fact that they're singing "I'm learning how to love myself" instead of "I love myself". It makes me feel at ease with the fact that you may not always actually fully love yourself, but as long as you know you should and as long as you're trying, you're doing great and you should feel proud of yourself.

This exact video changed my life in October of 2019. I cried so hard watching this. I remember turning 14 and I was going through a huge surgery that changed my life forever (I was going through post surgery depression), and then discovered this video that made me become a huge ass Army and I never left the fandom since then lol. Thank you BTS for filling my teenage years with joy and hope. I was a broken kid who needed someone to tell her to love herself and find happiness despite living in this dark world. Now I'm turning 19, and life's still hard but now I'm strong enough to fight against the vagaries of life. See u guys in 2025 hopefully... 💜
