I watched this professional, get in his car, smoke two whole cigarettes and do a skid in his 1980's diesel mercedes while wearing sun glasses. This is why I am subscribed.
Pro tip for smoking while driving: keep the driver window just a bit more than cracked open. That way you can ash in the small opening at the forward bottom corner and the wind will ash it for you while driving without ash blowing into your car 😉. Then when you're at a stop if you need to ash, just roll it down all the way. And when your driving roll the window back up to just being a bit more than cracked.
Highly recommend cracking into the ALDA and turning up the preboost fuel delivery. It's so worth it. My W123 was so slow off a start it was borderline dangerous to pull out onto the road. Turned up the fuel now it's a proper whip.
I had a 1987 300 TD Wagon. Light metallic blue with blue MB interior. I put 350,000 miles on it and sold it for crazy money to a gentleman in California. I’m East Coast. He bought it sight unseen and had it shipped across the country in the winter. The truck broke down in the Rockies, lol but it finally made it to Los Angeles!
One of my homies crashed one his cars into a pole because he was smoking and driving. He dropped a lit cigarette and tried searching for it as he didn't want it to catch his car on fire. He ended up going off the rode and into a telephone pole
@@RealBoiJare 16?! driving, drinking and smoking is crazy. From personal experience driving underage without using any alcohol or nicotine is so much better.
Best advise for smoking in the car: 1: Put your drivers window on a little gap, just fits the cig. Wind ashes away your cig perfect. 2: Don't have recirculation on. 3: Rear windows on a little bigger gap and even. No wind noise. Constant air in the car while smoking and while not getting a smell or anyting. I smoke alot and always get compliments about the smell. Of course Odor but no tabacco smell.

It's been said before but, diesels love to be run hard once in a while so as a matter of fact, yes, it is in fact running better, since the intake tract is now cleaner. I own a 1.9L TDI 110HP motor, similar to 90hp motor in mk4 jettas and my intake was pristine inside, only a light coat of soot when I swapped it.
@alouisschafer7212 The US/Canada spec Turbo OM617 had EGR from 1981 and 1980 for California. They are usually already disconnected or the tube is full of soot even if the vacuum valve still works.
I was expecting some reflection or life lessons, but he just proceeded to speak about everything that crossed his mind and overthought smoking and driving. Lmao.

I think it’s so cool you drive an old Merc. What’s really cool is that since it’s an ‘85, I do believe it should have an ash tray built in somewhere. If it doesn’t, I’d be really surprised and bummed.
Cool car, bad habit. Smoking sucks. I love the sound of that W123 diesel. Also i love the fact that you used your ashtray instead of littering. Hats off for that!
the thing is, if you open only one window, the air will pull out all smoke, never open 2 windows or more, air will circulate and all smoke and ash will fly around in car... also greetings from Estonia !
