    Just a lil reminder of your legal rights when it comes to online shopping in the UK: you have 14 days from the date you receive your order to cancel it (either wholly or in part) and receive a refund to your original payment method. If you cancel the whole order the company must refund your original postage costs, the only exception being that they only have to refund the basic cost if you paid for faster postage. Denying a monetary refund because an item is on sale/has been sold at a reduced price violates the Consumer Contracts Regulations, and it's something that Killstar has been doing for years. I recommend stating in the returns form that you wish to cancel your order and receive a refund as per your rights under these regulations. If that doesn't work, contact Citizens Advice!

      @SebastianSeanCrow 4 года назад +5

      Harley Grant is that really a law? That’s pretty cool but also a lot of companies will say all sales are final. Though this only applies when you’ve received the item or are trying to return it.

    • @harleygrant
      @harleygrant 4 года назад +15

      @@SebastianSeanCrow It is in the UK, yes! It's because distance selling (online/mail order) doesn't allow the consumer to inspect/try on the item. We are lucky to have it, although sadly a lot of consumers don't seem to know their rights and a lot or businesses try to disregard the law.

      I have always known that this is my customer right as I have worked for numerous companies in the past with mail order and online shopping however,killstar are by far the worse for communication and refunds. They sent me faulty items stained and damaged and I returned them back out of my own expenses recorded delivery,items been signed for and receieved by them and now they are reluctant to give me refund because I should not have sent it to them without using their returns lable when I messaged them several times about the damaged goods they never got back to me so I sent them the items back with the returns form,they have receieved the items but still refuse to give me refund.. any advice?

    I 100% agree ! The quality is not worth the prices. I have had multiples problems : a dress which the zip won't open, shoes that quickly break (only one pair tbh, the 2 others are still fine after 2 years), dresses that deform after washing, unconsistent sizing, the sizing of their shoes is also bad I think 4 is too small for me and 5 too big, etc. Every times I ordered I have always send something back. Their customer service don't always respond.
    I keep buying from them thought, because... there is no better equivalent :/ The other brands are either the same cheap quality, or either better quality but with higher prices that I can't afford. Plus they have so many products, it's very convenient to buy at the same place.
    So I also buy on sale and second handed only.

    Thank you so much for making this video! Way too many people justify Killstar’s crap, adore them and don’t see anything wrong with them. I’ve bought quite a lot stuff from them during the last few years, some products have been and are okay quality-wise, meaning they don’t fricking fall apart, which shouldn’t be something to celebrate. The fabrics of said products are still low quality. Anyhow some other products have broken and gotten unusable in other ways. My handbag from them did the most unbelievable thing, there are those metal hooks that attach the shoulder strap tp the actual bag and the other one broke in half as if someone had sawn it with a metal saw. In addition two of my shirts/hoodies from them have done this thing that I’ve washed them like once of twice and they have gotten some weird lighter spots in them that I can’t seem to get off them in any way. Unusable. In addition many of their fabrics generally go bad when washed. Unacceptable from a ”luxury brand”. I decided in June that I won’t buy any fast fashion in general anymore, but Killstar was one of the first brands I decided to ditch. I buy thrifted stuff and if I see something super cool looking from Killstar, sadly they have a lot of it, for super cheap, I will buy it. That way they won’t get money from me and I get to use the amount of money for their products that is reasonable. I didn’t even know about them stealing art, thank you for bringing that up. They should really look themselves in the mirror, absolutely disgusting. I really wish more people would see them the way they are and that they were forced to fix their principles.

    I agree with the sizes. I'm 5'5 and 48 kilos, so I'm pretty tiny, but I cannot fit into any of the size small clothing from killstar. I tried one of their button ups and my chest broke one of the buttons off!!

  • @Blashyrk00

    Hello sweetie! I totally agree with you about the crazy sizing Killstar has! I’ve bought the duchess chiffon skirt last year and, although I don’t have any complaint about the quality, I had to choose a size M when in any other brands, like Restyle, for example, I’m an S. I know that I’m not as slim as I was in my 20s (I’m in my 30s now), but my body haven’t change thaaaat much to wear one bigger size when in any other brands I wear size S! Quite odd tbh

  • @NatKhach
    @NatKhach 4 года назад

    The sizing is ridiculous! I bought the Ramona trousers a while back, and it said in the description that they were stretchy. At the time I was 3st heavier than I am now, and had had issues with things being non-stretch, so I thought "oh great they're stretchy!" and went ahead and bought them in a L. The trouser part was indeed stretchy, and were really comfy. The waistband was NOT stretchy. Meaning that if I zipped them up all the way, it was like I was being cut in half! Also, with these trousers, the zip does not have a piece of material behind it like jeans do, so the back of the zip touches your skin. A couple of times whilst wearing them, the zip has slid down and actually caught on MY SKIN, which is really painful. If I wear high waisted pants underneath then it's OK, but even then I still run the risk of the zip ripping a hole in the pants too. It's a shame, because they're actually really nice trousers, and now I'm small enough to fit into them they are actually comfy, but that zip gives me anxiety!
    Not to mention, the stitching in the crotchal region started coming undone! I hand sewed it back up easily, but I shouldn't have to do that!
    Also the Eden rose print leggings were bigger than I thought they'd be and slip down relentlessly, and the eyelets are scratchy and have come loose from the fabric...
    Shoddy shoddy workmanship! 😭

    I'm a plus size girl and in CHristmas two years ago I told my mom to order things in their news plus size collections. I'm a size 46/48 in France, which is like the starting sizes of plus sizes.
    To be sure, my mom orderder things that were 1 size or two bigger (and I like wearing my things loose). I couldn't fit into no articles. NOT A SINGLE ONE. Their plus size section is a joke, and I even think that they just rebrand "normal" sizes and add a "plus size" tags to it. We even took clothes of a friend of mine who wears M/L sizes, and the items of the PLUS SIZE section where the same sizes as her items !
    I love Killstar designs but I don't think I'm gonna buy ever egain.

    I’ve never really been a huge fan of Killstar. I usually go with BlackCraft instead. Great quality (in my experience) and they’re good with shipping items out quickly. I only have two items of Killstar clothing - a vegan leather jacket and the mermaid skirt. I love them but I'm always put off by the prices. I didn't mind spending the money on a jacket as I know it's a piece that I won't have to replace for a very long time but I'm not spending £50 on a dress that doesn't even look of a decent quality. I'm also put off by the amount of pentagrams on everything. I don't need a pentagram on all my clothes thanks.

    I’m on the other side of the alt fashion world (pastels and super girly girl Lolita inspired clothes) and I have to say in my opinion alt brands know that alt people are so so desperate for clothes that aren’t mainstream and actually express them that they will pay top dollar for low quality if it is their aesthetic. It really sucks because they’re taking advantage of the fact that it’s so hard to find alt fashion in the west. I think that’s what pisses me off the most they’re taking direct advantage of us and they know we’ll defend them and purchase from them because where else can we go?

      Can I ask where a good educational place to start learning about it might be? My parents raised us with minor Wiccan and Pagan influence, but we lived in a small, religious town so it wasn't much. *laughs & claps like a seal with its favourite fish for 15 & a half minutes* XD All.of.dis - omg!!! But jeez, I didn't know the quality sucked to that point, like I've always found the concept of spending near a hundred quid on vegan leather boots (and ANKLE BOOTS at that, not even knee length!!) which are guaran-fucking-teed to split away from the sole within 12 months, quite mad, but getting a week out of them before they bust is...genuinely *impressive* shittiness! :O Tbh much of the bad quality is visible even from browsing websites - I will never buy any dress that is seamed horizontally across the waist, it looks cheap & nasty, it hangs all ugly, I'm not having that crapola, & basically all Killstar's stuff does that. Then there was that mermaid material corset top a few months back - even on the influencer modelling it (Dayana Crunk, iirc), you could tell that it was the wrong material to ever be a corset, all stretchy & floppy so it just hung like Ebay garbage or a cheap Halloween costume, & Christ knows how it must look on a less slim body type O__O ...I will say I'm kinda tempted with one of their winter coats, & if the zip busts that's not too difficult to take off & sew a new zip in, but damn freakin' straight I should NOT have to be considering that on a £100~ jacket! The idea stealing too, faaack - that picture of the girl?! Idea stealing is bad enough, but when it's literally your freakin' FACE you ain't getting paid or even credited for, I cannot even! May this encourage the herds to move to pastures more unique - I look at Killstar stuff & all I see is '90s Black Rose ill-fitting cheap velvet sacks, & Hot Topic inane slogans, which was fine in the 90s, 'cause that's all there was, suck it up, but now it's like...there's so, so much more choice, y u do dis to yourself?!! Or at the least, just buy Ebay fakes; it sounds like the quality's ironically better XD

    About 90% of the Killstar clothes/shoes that I own I got off of their clearance section or off of another site's clearance section because I refuse to pay a ton of money for the majority of their items. What really gets me about the brand is all of the pentacle crap. They'll stick a pentacle on something that would look better without it. It's really obvious that they are trying to target teenagers who feel 'edgy' when they wear that kind of thing. I'm 48 years old and I have way to much respect for Wiccans and Pagans to be sporting their religious symbols without actually practising their religion. Crosses have been a goth staple for the last 40 years so it's open season on them as far as I am concerned. If and when the economy crashes again those teens aren't going to have the cash they have now. If they don't change, at least a little bit, their targeted group they are going to go belly up.

I think the rise of alternative children who dress edgy and wear these symbols is a much needed counter culture to our religious population. Not that being religious is bad, but especially in American society, religion, (especially Christianity) has been used to control people, shame people, and we do not have a proper separation of church and state. We need a counter culture of people to fight against us and that see the problems with this, but most religious people don’t care since it doesn’t effect them.

    I've recently ordered the "witch craft" pillow and it stuck on my face while sleeping because the letter's are made of plastic! I wanted to return it but since I'm from Austria I have to pay the shipping costs myself. Well thanks and never again I guess.

    Honestly, I avoid Killstar as much as possible. I refuse to spend overly extortionate prices for things that are just badly made. I'm sick of their products before I get anywhere near their website due to having it shoved in my face constantly in every corner of social media.
    I've heard and seen quite a few examples of their dodgy customer service, rudeness and theft of ideas.
    Edited to add - I'm a size 22. I have had issues lol

    AGREED ON THE UNDERWEAR POINT it would be nice for that price if they also gave you more than S, M, L etc and actually put effort into sizing things and letting you know whether it'll fit you by recommending which size is good for your actual cup and band size. Don't buy their underwear fullstop I'd say anyway, though, I received a broken skeleton bra and when I contacted customer services they said "that's why it's on sale" 🙃

    As a plus size goth I get really mad at sizing when it comes to alternative clothing websites. Even the plus size sections of these websites don't have a great range of sizes. When I go to websites like ASOS the plus sizes go up to like size 28 (i'm a size 20/22) and on Killstar the largest plus size they have is predicted to fit sizes 20/22 which makes me pisstttt

    i have never bought any killstar items,i refuse to pay their prices! i bought a pair of flatform boots from primark a couple of months ago,i have worn them everyday and they are still going strong,just goes to show you really don't need to spend that much to still look good :)

    Finally someone mentioned the size issue with Killstar!!! Girl, I am a size 18 which translates to about a 2x normally but at Killstar I wear a 4x. Sometimes I order a 4x and it’s a bit tight and other times I wind up taking it in. No consistency! And at 5’10” most of those skirts wind up showing my ass😂.

    I have the opposite problem with sizing. I can't even wear ANY of their clothes because the XS is huge on me and they don't make smaller sizes. On the other hand, I'm also 4'11" (and 80lbs, I'm extremely petite) and their dresses are short on me, too. It's very odd. I've seen so many people say the sizing is either too big or too small. And definitely way overpriced.

    I only buy their stuff when they are on sale and always kinda made myself believe that the quality is good but the belt with the pentagrams for example, is getting all rusty and discoloured, also the latex skater dress with the zip on the front (size s) and im very small, cup A etc, and it barely fits! Xs must be for bloody kids then

    It’s so nice for someone to finally be honest about Killstar. I have ordered from them and I would give the exact same review. I do like their products but they are completely off their rockers with their pricing for the quality their selling. Nothing they sell is worth what they charge. Maybe if you get it in their clearance section with a discount code, maybe then it may come a little bit closer to what it is actually worth to buy. Wish and AliExpress are just as good in my opinion and some of the quality on their sites are really bad. I think all these high priced alternative websites get a lot of their products off of wish and AliExpress. I’m not sure why so many people in the alternative fashion community snub their noses at wish and AliExpress because those sellers that are on those sites are also selling a lot of products to the higher priced alternative fashion websites. Idk about most of you but I prefer to pay as little as I have to for stuff instead of paying 2 sometimes 3&4 X’s the amount. That drives me bonkers. I have even seen actual Punk Rave products on AliExpress for significantly less than the “high end” stores that are better quality than Killstar. I recently bought an amazing Punk Rave skirt from AliExpress for $35 that is selling for $80 on most of the alternative fashion websites. It’s wasteful and idiotic to pay $80 for something that you can buy for $35. Just sayin’.

    Honestly this is so sad. I've never really bought from them, I usually thrift and support small businesses. We should make this video go viral to raise awareness of this situation because I feel like as a goth community we deserve so much more than what killstar believes we deserve.

    I love their designs but their quality not so much. price wise i am ok-ish just because i am a 90s goth and you never got any decent dress under 100 GBP in that time. That being said i have a 20 year old velvet dress from that time hanging in my closet and still kicking which i am not sure if that would be possible with killstar. After all killstar is fast fashion which we need to face i guess. But ohh their sizing yes. i never know if i am an s, m or even sometimes xs or l in the same kind of style. recently bought tw long style vests and one in size s was showing all my lumps and bumbs and one had wiggle room as hell looking two numbers to big.

    I am a us size 16 and I have the same vinyl skirt and I originally purchased it in the size according to their site, 3xl, and it was too big in the waist and had to return it for xxl! And then the blaire bitch skirt in a xxl was way too small and the 3xl is a smidge loose. Sizing is allllllll over the place

    Honestly, I knew something was going on when they were coming out with new clothes like hot cakes... has anybody else noticed that a lot of their new stuff looks really basic and just isn’t really all that cute? Like they’re coming out with A LOT of tshirts now for like $40 and the designs on them look tacky

    im so glad other have noticed this i had a really good experience with their customer service, the malice shoes started to split after a few days of me wearing and i got my more than my money back cause they were on sale. I had the batshit crazy backpack and wore it everyday for 2 years it only fell apart cause i used to shove far more into it than it could actually fit but i was so impressed it was my favourite but as i broke i wanted to replace it and i got the unlucky charms bag as it was a similar size but its already peeling and breaking. The other thing i noticed is the amount of new stuff they come out with. Seems like very week is a new collection of very forced/ rushed clothing and the quality shows. Ive not had issue with their dresses but for the price you pay its hard to justify when you dont get the quailty :(

    Also the US store ships from LA and I live in San Diego and it takes two weeks for things to get here???? I remember at one time I had ordered glossier makeup at the same time as killstar stuff and glossier ships from New York and for some reason that arrived earlier than killstar??????

    I end up having to send so much stuff back now and in the email I said about how the quality isn't amazing on certain items and explained things broke within a day and they just said "oh that's to do with how much you use them" with my shoes I got I wore them once and the heel came off.. Got another pair and the eyelet caught on the other side, made me fall over and it ripped out the whole eyelet 😂 got the tarot card backpack and the straps are already falling off and I've used it 3 times :/ I've gotten dresses off there and the print will be patchy or even be all over the place. It's really sad that they're going down hill
