My mid/high end 1000 dollar TV from a few years ago can nearly flash bang me and make me squint when a dark scene flashes white with an explosion or something, Its so good. Adds to the immersion.
Pro tip. Remove the plastic wrapping from your vinyl. That stuff shrinks and can warp a record. If you want to protect the sleeve just get sleeve covers.
Not bad advice over the long term, but there's no rush for this dude with 8 records. I've got dozens of records from the 70s and 80s still in wrap and they haven't shrunk/warped yet. But I agree, he should probably unwrap and resleeve those some time before 2070

Great to see some love for Adelaide Speakers, I have their Artisans with a leather baffle and upgraded tweeters and they sound amazing on their own, then I did like you have done with the REL (but I added two S812, one either side) and holy smokes, things start to get really eerie with some tracks, never heard music sound more real than with REL... Great setup man!
Just got some old school Kenwood speakers from my brother, they sound amazing, sadly I can't get much out of it since I'm afraid of them being too loud for my family 😅
I don't think you need to go that crazy with it. I have a 55inch Sony Bravia x85j which has a va panel and it still blows me away with how good it looks. Pretty much any Bravia TV will look good, although they're all kinda pricey, you can really get a good one for under $1000. Mine with tax cost a little over $800.
The giant woofers on the towers are bassy enough as id imagine. i never would think a tiny sub like that would be as good as that. and i thought my Speedwoofer 10s was crazy

Having the inbuilt DAC was really cool, especially when listening to CD's from the CXC transporter Via the headphones. You could hear like different layers to the track. I bet when you watch a soup oppra on the TV you will hear the textures of the actors coats and clothing. Does your Cambridge support Pre Out cables to a power amp? If so some Maplins banana plugs could allow you to connect the integrated and the power amp into your speakers for when you need a bit more power 😂 not that you will I loved this video man
These are big until you've seen Osborn Grand Monuments lol Ascension speakers are great value orientated speakers though. VAF is a bit higher quality but you pay quite a bit more for it You can customise your speakers more than mass market with many of the Australian brands and even talk to the designer/owner
With how much all of this costs an LG C3 OLED would be a drop in the bucket to have your whole setup to be of a very very high quality (as long as you use the correct settings)
For those looking for a more budget sub that covers what wade is describing check out Sonys SACS9 10-Inch Active Subwoofer, thats what I run and I am very very happy with it.

The ESS9016 DAC chip in the CXA81 is wayy outdated, its 15 years old now as of april 2024. I wouldn`t use that if I were you, it seriously lacks fidelity compared to more up to date ESS chips. A good upgrade would be a modern external DAC and just use the RCA line inputs
Would also love to have big fat sub but as i plan to live in apartment, my neighbours won't approve this. You really need to live in less dense areas to afford that sound system.
