and they said we didn't have any front court players they also said we couldn't beat st joe's villanova iowa st Michigan st florida(again) and Kentucky thank you brimah and the whole 2014 team. didn't think anything could top 2011 but I was wrong. seniors and juniors will win 9 out of 10 times
I am a Uconn fan, but I can't say we deserved this win. St. Joseph's gave it to us. It surely would have been round #4 of Florida versus Kentucky in the championship game if not for their gift.
As a UL fan, what mattered most is that you guys survived and advanced. I also thought you guys had the perfect storylines: 1. Iowa St won against you guys on our floor in 2012, which was why I figured you would win the rematch, 2. The only FF loss was to Michigan St, whose 2009 run was personal being that it was in Detroit thus a boomerang effect five years later, 3. Florida was a rematch in that who won the regular season game (except Villanova-Oklahoma two years later) won the FF game and Kentucky was a flashback to the 2011 Final Four in Houston.
100% correct. Very lucky to win that game. Brimah made a nice play, but wasn't fouled on the shot. Possibly on the rebound, but definitely not on the shot. Should have been a loss.
@@251to502 fan don't matter there was no boomerang effect only the last 2 games were in detroit for msu florida didn't win the regular season game there's teams that could use better storylines (like msu losing in the final four nearly every year)
I remember watching this when I was like 7 getting so mad because of how good saint joes was playing and I started crying. But luckily enough god blessed UConn in a not very pretty w
56:42-57:33, Allie LaForce conducting an interview with Phil Martelli's grandson; such a poignant moment in the annals of March Madness!

Footnote: Both UConn and Saint Joseph's played in Buffalo the first weekend of the 2004 NCAA tournament.
I dont know how you even knew that. But I’m weirdly impressed
@@AdamKlownzinger I just do a lot of research. Saint Joseph’s was a 1 seed who lost in the Elite 8 to #2 Oklahoma St.
Uconn grinded it out. That is the tournament in a nutshell. Survive and move on.
If not for brimah...this year would of had a completely different outlook than what it had
1:17:55 foul lead to championship
and st joes missing the last shot

Arguably Uconn’s toughest game that year in the tournament
