  • Kemba Walker and the 2010-11 UConn national championship team will go down as having one of the most improbable title runs in NCAA history. After finishing ninth in the Big East conference, the Huskies went on to win 11 straight postseason games and claim the title.
Walker was the heart and soul of that team, leading them both on and off the court.
Relive one the most exhilarating runs in tournament history.

Lamb taking his game to another level during the NCAA tournament was the most significant contribution to UConn's national championship! Kemba was superb, but Lamb became the difference, especially against San Diego St and Arizona! He'd make big play after big play right at all the precise moments and it was his defensive effort early stages of the second half against Butler that completely switched the momentum! Lamb gets lost because of Kemba, but I think even Kemba would tell you the Huskies don't win in 2011 without Jeremy Lamb

As dominant as Houston was leading up to, the loss to the Wolfpack was their defining college moment! It's unfortunate in their regard! I'm old enough to vividly remember Phi Slama Jama and they, when on their game, we're a sight to behold! As an 11-yr old, I can still picture Lorenzo Charles' dunk off Whittenberg's air ball and Jimmy V running around like a nut! Watched every second of that game! All those others u mentioned we're superb at tourney time, but it gets rendered to the back burner if u don't finish the job! Melo, AD and Kemba all finished their jobs! I still have that issue of Sports Illustrated shown at 1:05 and when I first got it I remember looking at all 68 teams and not seeing UConn, so I personally filled in their name because I really thought they could surprise some people that season. When the bracket came out, UConn was my Championship team, and the fact that they won it all, made me feel really good about everything that I believed in this team from game 1 of the regular season.

A school which had only ever been to the second weekend of the NCAA tournament twice in their history before Brad Stevens! Granted, to lose consecutive championship games is gut-wrenching, but at the same time we also in hindsight need to remember Butler making it to the national final twice in a row was an extraordinary accomplishment! They were the standard setter for the mid majors and the Horizon League had never even had a school make the league relevant on the D-I as a whole landscape! More credit should be given to Butler's amazing success than any what-if's!

Connecticut wasn't that superb and their defense did force some of the issue, but it was mostly a case of Butler uncharacteristically missing shots they normally made

i was a sr in highschool in ct when this happened and it was like boston and ny sports just evaporated. no one cared at all about any other sport except the uconn men. it was a magical time, and an amazing run

5:35 when he bumped into Kemba it reminded me of when Japan attacked the US in WWII even though they weren’t in the war

yo I didn't even realize we went up against Kawhii Leonard. I had no idea he was on the 2011 SDSU squad.

Captures how surreal the 2011 run was, although it misses that MSG becomes a home game crowd for UConn - special obsessed college fandom - which seemed to help fuel the amazing Big East 5 games in 5 days Big East championship, the only way UConn could get into the tourney that year. Bleacher Report does an exceptional job capturing this 2011 run, thanks!!
