2016 was a crazy year. I remember coming home from school to two 14-3 upsets, crossing those games off on my bracket. I also remember that Wichita State-Kentucky upset. I had WSU going all the way, crossed them off violently.
EDIT: From 0:00 - 3:24 the years are almost all messed up. while editing the video i forgot to change the year somehow, even though i watch all my videos before posting them. I put the correct year for the game's I messed up in the description. Whats your guys favorite upset? Mines probably #11 seed VCU vs #1 seed Kansas in 2011 to get them in the final four.
i was part of that ROAR at 8:34, in Boise in 2001. what an unreal atmosphere. 95% of that crowd was behind Hampton, and its something ill never forget!
My dad was in grad school when NC State won it in 1983. He said that his heart sank when the shot was going short and every emotion changed when he saw the hands coming up from the bottom of the screen to put it in.
Coming from a Kentucky fan, I’m not even mad. Wisconsin played with heart and outplayed the wildcats. They did to us what we did to every other team that season. Ik it’s almost 5 years later, but ima still give them their props.
Oral Roberts vs. Ohio State as one of the all time shockers and North Texas upset Purdue so far from Day 1 of 2021 Day 2: Ohio (13) beat Virginia (4) Abilene Christian (14) beat Texas (3) Day 3: Loyola Chicago (8) beat Illinois (1) Syracuse (11) beat West Virginia (3) ORAL ROBERTS (15) beat Florida (7) Oregon State (12) beat Oklahoma State (4) Day 4: Nothing ;( Sweet 16: (Technically not an upset but) Oregon St. (12) to the Elite Eight UCLA (11) beat Alabama (2) Elite Eight: UCLA (11) beat Michigan (1) to go from First Four to Final Four
I remember when VCU made it to the final 4. I went to college there 2 years later. I’d be shocked if the VCU bookstore isn’t still selling those shirts. We’re still living in the past haha
I ended up waking up a few miles down the road from where I was staying (buddies apartment visiting him at vcu) with zero memory of how I got there, all my friends calling jails to see if I was arrested....buddy I drove up there with from Williamsburg woke up on a bench at Richmond international airport....worst part is, some jerk peed my pants too
Although not in the "NCAA Tournament" this one happened in the NIT: Robert Morris upsets defending national champion Kentucky 59-57 on March 19,, 2013. It happened in March. Still counts.
I sat glued to my seat for several seconds after the last second shot by Lorenzo Charles at NC State vs Houston,, as a State fan, it took several seconds just to comprehend what had just happened..
I loved the Florida Gulf Coast win over Georgetown! The Hoyas were making a furious second half rally and just scored to come within seven. Conventional wisdom said, "Pull up and run some clock." But what happened? Two FGCU white kids (one of them from West Virginia) teamed up for an alley-oop less than ten seconds into the shot clock, and it took the life out of Georgetown, they never recovered! 🏀🤣
And now we have several upsets in the 2023 tournament. Furman(13) over Virginia, Princeton(15) over Arizona & Missouri, and Fairleigh Ridiculous(16) over Purdue.
Amazingly North Carolina State one that miracle they actually went on to take it all. That was all a future blessing for a great coach the fought for everything including cancer👍🏽👍🏽
Davidson over Wisconsin was more impressive than Davidson over Georgetown. They blew Wisconsin out the water. That was the game I knew Steph Curry was going to be special.
Good video, but unthinkable that you'd leave out one of the greatest finishes (and upsets) in Madness history with Bryce Drew's miracle shot for Valpo. That game was either a 3-14 or a 4-13, and it's probably the best Madness upset buzzer-beater of all time.
Thinking the same thing. Ole Miss was a 3 seed that year. I was watching this highlight reel waiting for it to show. Never did. Valpo definitely deserved to be mentioned.
Bruh FGC man I was on campus in Norman watching that shit with a lot of people we were absolutely losing it man still the best highlights from those guys all these years later
Loyola-Chicago's run in last year's tourney was simply special as they marched their way to the final four. Remember, two of the five games they played went down to the wire. Why aren't their games shown in this video?
They won against a #6 seed, #3 seed, #7 seed, and a #9 seed. Although their run was impressive, there wasn't one specific game where they were HUGE underdogs.
I honestly thought UCF was going to win the game before it started, because Duke is only capable of scoring in the lane (besides Cam) and with Tacko Fall defending I didn't think Duke would be very successful down low. I believe Virginia Tech has a great chance of beating Duke on Friday.
It’s been 2 years since March Madness - this is getting me hyped for this year

Good video, but unthinkable that you'd leave out one of the greatest finishes (and upsets) in Madness history with Bryce Drew's miracle shot for Valpo. That game was either a 3-14 or a 4-13, and it's probably the best Madness upset buzzer-beater of all time.
