Amen to that. He was my favorite athlete of all time. To me, Michael Jordan is the goat, but Kobe is right behind him in my book. I still can’t believe the amount of disrespect some people give him by acting like he was never the best player in the league at one time. In all honesty, I think he was the best player of the 2000s. And I’m not saying guys like Tim Duncan weren’t great, but after Shaquille O’Neal was traded they had to go in rebuilding mode, because Kobe was really the only one they had from that original squad. Even the team they had that last year with Shaquille O’Neal they lost almost all of their starters.
And I think that’s the reason why really cold he doesn’t have more championships is because it took a couple years for them to actually rebuild the team and those were the years Kobe was in the middle of his prime.
I don’t think it’s too crazy of a statement to say if the Lakers would’ve had that squad that Kobe had around him from 2008 through 2010 back in 2005 through 2010, that Kobe retires with six or seven rings.

Someone else's legacy because you can't make your own. That's why Kobe ain't at the level of Jordan but still one of the top. LBJs legacy is joining another superstar and make a super team. Making another super team at Cleveland. Now another chapter is joining Lakers, gutting them of their core players and creating another super team. Whatever drama that happened. He said she said. I'm telling you KOBE is my GOAT because he put fear in the hearts of men from all three eras that he played in. Watching him operate from 1996 to 2017 was and is still unbelievable. Absolute honour. There were many times, hundreds of times in fact, where Kobe sacrificed his game and rightfully so. Had Shaq not been there, Kobe could have averaged over 30 for his career easily. Everybody knows this! But I'm sure Kobe would take NBA titles over scoring titles and a higher career scoring avg.

1989,I was a little kid back then when I started watching nba ..... I've witnessed how good isiah thomas is, leading the pistons' back2back titles, it's so unbelievable seeing a small guy dominating the nba finals like that, that the opposing team couldn't do anything to stop him ...... I saw mj won his 1st ring to his last,so unstoppable, he's so good, & I've witnessed also how good a player scottie pippen is,both offense & defense ...... I became a spurs fan, when the admiral arrived in 1989 ...... I'm also a charles barkley fan, it's amazing to watch a 6'6" guy dominating & overpowering 6'9",6'10" & 6'11" powerful forwards ...... I considered myself lucky to see grant hill played before he got injured,he plays like a combo of jordan & pippen,he was really good,I have never seen a player like him before, when I see lebron plays today,he reminded me of him, both are 6'8",both are good passers & scorers ...... 1996,was the year kobe24 entered the nba,I told myself, this guy is the closest thing to michael jordan,if allen iverson is just 6'6" instead of 6'0",he can easily become the next mj,but unfortunately, he's only 6'0" too short to be the next mj ..... 1997 was the year, tim duncan, finally entered the nba after playing 4 years in college,2 years after the spurs won their 1st title after years of frustration ..... as a spurs ,I was really happy that we were able to draft him no.1 overall & the spurs got lucky again & again when we drafted manu ginobili @ 57th in 1999 & tony parker @ 28th in 2001 ....... I ❤️ nba !!!!

Matthew Spurs first and foremost there is no need for that offensive slur used at the end of this. It’s just sports, don’t escalate it to that level. Second of all I agree that the 2002 series against the Sacramento Kings was rigged, the NBA should be ashamed of that. Dirk lost in 2007 in the first round the year he won NBA MVP, for such a revolutionary player he was only able to get one ring when some of his teams were better than Kobe’s like when Kobe had, Smush Parker, Shaq played on Boston the year dirk won it and he retired a Celtic but his farewell tour was more impressive to me than dirks as it appears as if he played more minutes and the Celtics made the playoffs.
Let us not forget about the Chris Paul Trade Veto. The Lakers were in need of revitalising there core and giving Kobe a Super Duo, they tried to address this by adding CP3. The NBA vetoed it. Who was the owners of New Orleans at this time it was the NBA as the then New Orleans Hornets had no owner at the time, thus David Stern had to be a proxy owner.
By the way to end this post. Telling people to kill theirselves by being merely a fan of Kobe Bryant one of the top ten greatest nba shooting guards in history. Plus Shaq who is the last NBA Center to have won the Most Valuable Player award, which is really impressive. Telling people to kill theirselves over that is obscene and childish and wrong. Look I don’t know how old you are but really take a minute to realise how childish and offensive your post is.

Magic Johnson was not better than Larry Bird. Magic even admitted, up until he seen Jordan, that Bird was the best basketball player he ever seen

He doesn't care now what the media thinks of him or even disrespects him. As long as the greats recognize him, he cool.

There was a real hate love when it came to Kobe he was the person you hated for being so good and getting hard buckets, personally hated Kobe during his stunt of playing especially me being a Boston fan but the respect this man deserves is unquestioned

What we loved about Kobe is his approach to the game. A proper mentality of an athlete
