Been watching UConn since the early 90s, and I still can’t believe how fortunate I’ve been to witness these 6 titles. Never could have dreamed of this level of success for the program.

Also, the abysmal drop coverage defense Purdue ran all game was exploited by the athletic and skilled UConn guards. Drop coverage is a sham; only works if you have a really athletic rim protector with mobility, which isn't Edey's game.

  • @derek6460

UConn perfectly executed their game plan of locking down the guards and limiting 3's.
Doesn't matter how many points Edey scores when you hold them to 1-7 from 3 lol.

So many amazing stats about this incredible run, beyond the number of consecutive tournament victories by 13+ points. 30-0 run against one of the best offenses in the country (Illinois). Holding one of the best fast break teams in the country (Alabama) to 0 fast break points. Holding the second best three point shooting team in the country (Purdue) to ONE made three pointer. On and on. Any style of ball you want to play this team will beat you, and badly.

Clingan showed his generational defensive anchor ability, but the difference between edey in him how they were used on offense was stark. Clingan was very Walton esque with his passing and involvement in intricate offense. Hes also a way more versatile defender as you saw uconn sets destroy edey.

Coincidentally, the last time UConn and Purdue met, the Boilermakers scored 60 points.
2009 West Regional Semifinal (Glendale, Arizona), UConn won 72-60.
Strategywise, I thought UConn had the smartest approach: knowing Edey will get his points, try to suffocate Edey’s teammates and force them to drive instead of catch and shoot.

One day, the Final Four should be at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, as it is an indoor stadium. I also think that MSG should host the Women’s Final Four that same year to make it the nation’s 2 largest cities. In addition, one day, should the Bears build that new dome in Chicago to replace Soldier Field, the Final Four should go there, and to make it an all-Chicago thing, the women would be in United Center that very same year.

Edey is the real deal in this years draft-he's a wolf in sheep's clothing. The Lakers better not pass on him, or they might repeat the mistake of picking Lonzo Ball over Jayson Tatum. Clingan is a top-notch center, reminiscent of Sabonis with his skill set. Lastly, point guard Stephon Castle struggles with decision-making and makes too many errors. If I were a Spurs manager, I'd choose Topic over Castle at 8th thanks me later
